The M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface allows you to connect your amp head to your computer through a bus connection. I know it works with a 2.0 bus, not sure if it works with a 1.0 bus. I purchased mine for use with an HD 147 amp head and a Compaq Presario Computer. The Uno didn't break your bank, and it offers excellent connectivity. I transfered tones back and forth without a hitch. I had it disconnected behind my speaker cabinet with dust and all for a long time. The Uno worked fine, when I hooked it back up. You're not looking at a very complicated product. Mine came in great shape, and I've kept it for some future amp after selling my HD 147. What more can you ask for in a simple, inexpensive item that does it's function well.

Though this little device is expensive, it is hardly worthy of the price. Low frequency artifacts are introduced into the mix via MIDI In. Without the right patch sound or watching the MIDI events scroll on the screen, one would guess that the MIDI signal is being dropped. I have tried working the incident with M-Audio and the tech G.W. doesn't even read the issue. I keep getting one sentence responses, including that he was glad that my problem was solved. It isn't solved. Not even close. On the internet, reviews make it obvious that others are experiencing the same problem without resolution. My Uno is now in the closet and I installed the M-Audio 1010LT instead. I like their products as a rule. Spend the extra money and skip a USB interface.

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

I bought this item with strong expectations and high optimism! I was so ready to plug n play until the package came with a CD that required you to install the MIDI program before you could do anything. I out the CD in and turns out this thing isn't compatible with Windows 8....sucks! So if you have Windows 8 please don't buy this product. It's just a waste of money, time, and space that cannot be returned. If you have a system under Windows 8, good for you. I'm sure it will work just fine!

        Does exactly what I expected

        By Michael Teeters

        from Issaquah, WA

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

Acquired a secondhand MicroKorg and I need an easy/cheap way to move patch sets between it and a Win 7 PC. Works as expected with the driver installed -- no issues using either Korg's software or MIDI-OX. The cord length is good and, as other reviewers have mentioned, there are indicator lights on the interface pod/box so you can visually check for connectivity and data movement.

        No Support

        By Todd Lombardi

        from St. Louis, MO

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

I messed around with this thing for two hours trying to install the driver for it. I even went to their website and downloaded the new driver that supposedly fixed the problem. That, however, was to no avail. After I checked out a forum, I figured out that M-Audio never even bothered to make support for Windows 8. So now it's useless piece of plastic. It looks nice and I'm sure it does miracles on other operating systems, but until they can get support for Windows 8, it's useless to me.

A gateway product into the world of MIDI

        By Marshall Jewell

        from Detroit, Michigan

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

This was my first MIDI interface I ever purchased. It was great! I didn't have to install any drivers (on PC) at all, just plug it in and go. The simple USB hookup makes everything easy. I never once had any trouble with it, and would recommend it to anyone who is starting to get into working with MIDI, or anyone who just wants a budget gadget to use for messing around. I don't use mine anymore, as I have moved on to using larger interfaces, but this little wonder allowed me to expand my experience with virtual instrumentation.

Had no trouble using with Yamaha keyboard

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

I was concerned after ordering (and then reading reviews) that this might not work with my Yamaha keyboard (PSR 300M) but installation for me was Plug and Play. I am using it with eMedia teaching program and have had no problems.

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

Download the latest driver from M-Audio's website. I'm running this on Windows 7 64 bit. Connected it to an FCB1010 foot controller. Works fantastic. Being able to see the midi signals right on the connector is a very nice touch! Well done!

        Works Great!

        By Todd Robinson

        from Durham, NC

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

I am a pianist who was interested in using my Casio Privia PX-120 to control Pianoteq, which is installed on my laptop. I was a bit concerned about this product at first because I read some folks were having latency issues, garbled MIDI data streams, and compatibility problems with Windows 7 64-bit. Out of the box, Windows 7 picked up on the device right away and installed its own driver for it. The latency was pretty bad but that's not unexpected with a sound card not designed for this kind of thing. Fortunately, installing the ASIO4ALL driver removed the latency problem and my application is working perfectly. I'm very pleased!

        Awesome.

        By Geoge

        from Charleston SC

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

I'm a proficient guitarist, good-enough piano player, and casual music recorder -- I go through Garage Band, record myself through one dynamic mic and don't know a whole lot about the finer points of mixing/producing. I was intrigued by MIDI though, having never even pursued that route before. So I got one of these guys and plugged it in to my Casio CDP-100 and my iMac, and bam, I was up and running. No install, nothing. Just spent a few hours playing with all the various instruments--including some fine organs, and a nice tremolo is controlled by the sustain pedal. Seriously, I'm a beginner with this and I'm already inspired to learn a whole lot more.

        Good product

        By Robert

Comments about M-Audio USB Uno 1X1 MIDI Interface:

I bought this cable to interface a keybosrd to my computer to use the flexi-time feature in Sibelius music notation. If you intend to do something like this the driver that comes with the cable wont work, you will need to go to m-audio's website and download the correct driver. If using windows you need to know the edition you have (windows XP, SP2 or SP3)after that it works great.
