Streamlined session control:
Featuring 8 assignable knobs, 9 assignable sliders, dedicated transport controls, and track up and down buttons, the M-Audio Oxygen 61 keyboard gives you total control over your session, allowing you to stay engaged in the creative flow of recording and mixing music rather than being interrupted by the constant back and forth between a QWERTY keyboard and a MIDI controller. DirectLink mode automatically maps Oxygen 61 controls to common DAW parameters while factory presets provide instant mapping to popular virtual instruments including Xpand!2, Hybrid, Velvet, Strike, Oddity, ImpOSCar, and MiniMonsta. Use the dedicated select buttons to quickly switch MIDI channels and presets for tactile control over multitimbral hardware and software instruments. Interfacing a MIDI controller with your music software doesn't get any easier than this.

Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 Mk3 Ignite:
I've been playing the Hammond B3 for nearly 45 years. A number of years back I moved to a virtual Hammond Rig as an option when using a 350 instrument was simply impractical. I bought the M-Audio Oxygen 61 because it had the ability to model drawbars with it's 9 assignable faders. My original software was NI-B4 which was the best I could find at the time. Since then I have moved to running GSI's VB3 as a VST via Cubase. If you're looking for a Yamaha action on a $200.00 controller you might want to cough up some more dough. From my experience, this controller has worked perfectly for my needs. Enough so that I am looking to replace my eight year old Oxygen with another one... nuff said!
Comments about M-Audio Oxygen 61 Mk3 Ignite:
I bought this MIDI controller keyboard because it had a low price, had the right number of keys (61) and unlike many other keyboards, it actually has usable buttons. I was in a hurry, so I didn't try out the feel of the keyboard very much at the store. I'm sorry I purchased this. The keyboard "springs" are just plastic that you are bending when you push the keys. That means that they feel stiff, and the tension gets harder as you push down. Another minor annoyance is that this keyboard is ONLY usable via USB - it has no MIDI port. I hope that this is not a trend by keyboard manufacturers - we really do need that MIDI port, if for no other reason than as a backup for the USB. To date, my favorite action is the M-Audio Keystation 61es - made by this same manufacturer! On a very subjective note, programming this unit does not seem straight forward. I must always follow the steps in the manual to do even simple tasks like changing the MIDI output channel. Hopefully this information is useful. The keyboard DOES have a specific purpose, and seems to be more about integrating with DAWs, but keyboard action seems to be of secondary importance. Be sure to check it for yourself.
