Overview

Fast Track Pro Mobile USB Audio/MIDI Interface
The Fast Track Pro delivers all the mobile recording flexibility of the Fast Track USB, plus even more professional features. You get 2 front-panel mic/line inputs complete with phantom power for condenser microphones, inserts for outboard effects, balanced and unbalanced analog outputs, S/PDIF digital I/O, MIDI I/O, and more. Fast Track Pro also features near-zero latency direct hardware monitoring and low-latency ASIO software monitoring, plus an A/B source switch and dual output pairs for DJ-style cueing. Fast Track Pro is compatible with most popular PC and Mac music software. USB connection and bus power along with class compliancy for Mac OS X* make it a breeze to set up.

Professional Recording—Anywhere, Anytime
Fast Track Pro is designed to let you record with professional results whenever and wherever you want. A single USB connection gives you access to all the I/O you need for microphones and instruments like guitars, as well as MIDI- and S/PDIF-equipped digital audio gear. The microphone inputs are even phantom powered to accommodate the studio-quality condenser microphones like the M-Audio Luna and Solaris. M-Audio’s time-tested driver software gives you total routing control over the 4 x 4 I/O—including setting up an effects loop with external devices.

Monitoring Galore
One of the hallmarks of a great audio interface is its monitoring flexibility—and Fast Track Pro delivers. Fast Track Pro features a powerful headphone amp with volume control. Hardware direct monitoring eliminates the latency or delay inherent in even the best internal circuitry while listening to your input and existing tracks. You can also listen to your input complete with effects while recording by using the extremely low-latency ASIO monitoring we’ve perfected over the years. Two pairs of analog outputs let you connect to a DJ mixer and use the front-panel A/B source switch to audition cues.

Terrible

By Tony Spiritoso

from Walton, Kentucky

I am so deeply disapointed in this product. The interface itself works great! But, the software is just a flat out joke. If you have a pc, I strongly advice that you do not buy this. All the reviews and tutorials are done on a mac, which surprisingly, has different controls than a pc. There are so many glitches and freeze-ups when working with midi and audio. You need a GPS to navigate the software, it is that bad. I don't mean that things are difficult to find, I mean, they are close to not even being there. Want to do mixing? good luck! Want to use different Midi settings? good luck! Like I said, the interface is good, but the software is terrible!

Trial and error...

By Joseph Stephens

from Louisville, KY

I bought this so that I could play around with ideas, and experiment. At first I was getting noise that I couldn't seem to get rid of. After trying many different things I went into the the settings for the Fast Track in System Preferences and changed some things around. Got everything cleared up. Being new to Mac, and Pro Tools didn't help. Luckily I stumbled across a post on a forum that got me on the right path to fixing it. So far it works great for what I want to do.

So Far So Good

By Alex Markey

from Michigan

I picked this up the other day from a local guitar center. So far I am still getting used to it but I like it so far. I have no real gripes as of yet about this. The controls feel nice and solid no sloppy play in any knobs. I like how you can turn on or off phantom power on the back side of this unit. The casing im not sure about, it feels like its made of plastic and not sure if it would stand up to a fall off my desk but I hope so. Comes with pro tools personally I don't use that I already had Presonus Studio One. Glad I got this, it has made a difference in my recordings so far. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Best Deal Ever

By joe guitar

from NYC, NY

The previous reviewer obviously doesn't know what he's or she is doing. The software is Protools based which is the most rock solid music app ever. The mic pre's are much nicer than I had hoped and the interface is well built. I would expect to pay upwards of $450 for something like this, so after a year of solid performance I'm giving it 5 stars!

Sooo Bad

By BRIAN ALBERTS

from Orland Hills, Illinois

This software bundle encounters soo many problems when using it with a computer. It plays back audio sometimes and sometimes you cant hear it. There is soo much white noise in the backround you can't get rid of and addition to this, there is next to no support online for this. The interface is probably good, but I don't know because pro tools se sucks soo bad! Please save yourself 200 dollars and don't buy this product!
