Not worth the money. Save up extra and buy an external interface with quality pres(i bought the ART Tubefire8). too many problems, too much noise, only two preamps and they suck. shouldn't have to spend 6 hours with tech service to get working. PCI was bad idea from the get go. who can really use 6 non-preamp RCA inputs? for what? great newbie mistake purchase.

Best Interface for the Price

By DAVID K

from Nunda, NY

I started building my project studio in 2008 on a pretty tight budget. I looked at dedicated 8 track "porta-studios" and I am VERY GLAD I decided to get this card for my computer instead. This card lets you record up to 8 tracks simultaneously (unlike most decks which limit you to 2 at a time) and also has MIDI I/O. For this price you essentially turn your PC into digital recording studio, with access to editing and processing tools you simply wont find on an all-in-one unit. It works well with virtually any recording software. I have had ZERO problems under XP --- can't say what will happen in Vista or 7. Highly recommended over those cheaper USB gizmos.

unsure

By MIDIMic

I wish I could tell you I had a great experience but unfortunatley, I could not get the PCI card installed in my new Dell Studio XPS 8100 or my older Dell XPS PC. After I tried unsuccessfully, I took PC and 1010 LT to the computer store where I purchased my Dell computer and their Techs could not install either. Had to return for refund.

Awesome Card

By Jason K.

from Milwaukee, WI

I bought a new system to put this baby into, and with the zero latency asio driver and Cubase, it rocks. Crystal clear monitoring, although I am still trying to figure out some crackling issues since this system is much newer than others. The MIDI ins and outs work great with my Axiom 49, and there is no latency. Good buy!

Excellent but has its flaws...

By Gabe

from Michigan

This card works great with my new i7 computer I built for my home studio but it didn't at first. I spent on the upwards of 6 hours calling M-Audio technical support and doing my own research just to find out that I had IRQ conflicts and needed to basically turn start disabling things until the sound card would function properly. Maybe it was just my computer but it seems as though there are some major driver issues and compatibility problems with Windows 7 or some of the new technology I put into my new PC. Other than that horrible experience I would have to say that this is by far one of the better pieces of equipment I've owned and I am very pleased. I can finally do software monitoring with less than 1 millisecond latency! I've been able to lower the buffer all the way to 64 and without any pops or crackles which is more than I could have hoped for. It also works extremely well with Cubase 5 and it even allows Cubase to control the card's built in mixer and faders which is a huge plus since it prevent me from having to switch back and forth just to adjust my levels while working. I'd recommend this card to any one considering it as an addition to their own setup. (it also is a much more affordable alternative to those pricey and often buggy firewire/usb interfaces!)

Essential

This card turned out to be a great addition to our on-air studio. We've thrown some challenges at both its hardware and software elements and are very pleased. Looks to be a winner!

I run two of these cards plus my control surface. Never an issue and the recordings and play back are flawless!! Great gear for a home studio or small semi-pro work!

hell for stout

By DJ Clairity

Ive had my delta 1010lt for almost 2 years now, and i still think its top of the line for a pci slot card. It has survived 3 power spikes where my motherboards have fried and still it works without a glitch. I'm still proud of my investment and hope to see it work for more years to come.

Great Interface

By Dave Williams

from Huntington Beach, Ca

I have two 1010'Lts linked together for 16 track recording, and will be adding another for a full 24 track setup. The cards sound great and sync up without a hitch. I have used them for over a year in my studio for music and film recording as well as live recording of a 65 member concert band and orchestra running Sonar 7. I usually perfer ballanced IO's but with careful attention to system grounding and good cables and shielding from card to mixer I have had no problem with RFI or crosstalk. I also own a Delta 44 and 66 and would highly recomend any of the M-Audio Delta series cards.
