The sound quality of the sampled Steinway sound (along with all the other sounds) is absolutely amazing. The keys have a weighted touch to them that you can notice. It feels very much like a piano should. The feel of the weighted hammer action is not as strong as a Yamaha and not as soft as a Casio. It is somewhere in the middle and just perfect for my tastes. The three pedals work as they should and their sensitivy (as in a real piano) is also noticeable. This piano is very useful for a wide variety of styles of music. I personally use it mostly for classical music. As far as the TOUCH feature is concerned, when you first enable it right out of the box, the quality of sound of the Grand Piano is just HORRIBLE. It makes it seem as if the original sampled Steinway sound was muffled and lowered in volume. I was extremely disappointed when I first got this piano because of this unacceptable quality that came from the TOUCH feature. Thankfully, this problem was resolved when I began to mess around with the Reverb and Chorus effects included with this piano. After some experimenting, I was able to get an amazingly rich, clear and high quality piano sound that you get from a Steinway. Since applying these settings, I have been extremely satisfied and content with my purchase and have no regrets whatsoever. The following are my settings: BASS KNOB - 35-40% (10 o'clock position), TREBLE KNOB - 100%, REVERB Level - 52, REVERB Effect - Room3, CHORUS Level - 55, CHORUS Type - Chorus1. Remember that the Chorus and Reverb settings were only applied to the Grand Piano sound. The treble and bass knobs affect all sounds....in a good way. The cabinet is made of solid construction and high quality materials and the blue LED lights and blue LED display really take the cake. You will have a little hiccup when assembling the back modesty panel to the L-brackets attached to the side legs. This is easily resolved by removing the L-brackets from the legs and first attaching them to the modesty panel and then attaching the modesty panel with the L-brackets to the legs. It might take a little effort to do this, but it will be worth it. The USB connection works great and my computer almost instantly recognized it. No extra wires or software installation needed since it is read as a Plug-and-Play device. I have been using it with the Sibelius 5 software and have had no problems whatsoever. M-Audio did a great job with this piano. I am thoroughly satisfied with this purchase and have no regrets. For the price and the features, you cannot go wrong!
