I bought the Axiom 25 for use primarily with Garageband (3). What sold me on the Axiom (above other similarly priced controllers), was the combination of the pads and the transport controls. In all honesty I would have gone with Korg's padKontrol if the Axiom didn't have these features. So with great anticipation I tried to install the driver software, after a little frustration and reading I found there was no need, I should be able to fire up GB and start playing around. While this was the case, the playing around didn't do all the things I had dreamed. Primarily, the transport controls didn't seem to work. So I had to set off to the internet, and not M-Audio's website, which held little useful information, to try to determine if the problem could be solved. Fortunately another person had gone through the same thing and posted a PDF how-to on their site explaining how to make the transport controls work. In short you'll need an additional (free) piece of software called GarageRemote. After a little playing around with this utility I was up and running. The features on this keyboard are fantastic, I especially like the aftertouch controls which didn't make much sense to me until I started using them. The drum pads are a little insensetive, and I would like the keys to be more sensetive as well, but I believe I can control that with software. Overall this keyboard (or any in its family) are a pretty good value and are loaded with useful features, even if setup isn't necessarily as smooth as one would like.

very good price for something like this. not only do you get a good midi 25 note keyboard but also a beat board without having to buy the more expensive MPC. i highly reccomend this product. only drawback is programing sounds to the keyboard itself is kind of hectic

M-Audio Axiom 25

Comments about M-Audio Axiom 25 25-Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:

With the great price, functionality, and name brand of the Axiom 25, it's hard to beat. I am a huge fan of 25 key controllers, and M-Audio ones specifically. I use this, the Oxygen 25, and the Novation Launchpad. This controller has by far, the best-feeling keys (and most substance) out there. My reason for having the two M-Audio's though, is because I have been using the O2 for quite a while, and I love the precise nobs/triggers on it. The Axiom is a sweet controller though, no doubt. My favorite 25 key on the market, and that is including controllers like the Axiom pro etc. Get this controller, see it for yourself. THANK YOU M-AUDIO

Mondo Bang for the Buck

Comments about M-Audio Axiom 25 25-Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:

Having been very satified with my older M Audio Ozone for a few years, I naturally looked to M Audio again when it was time to add another controller. I'm glad I did. For my particular setup, I don't need a 76 or 88 key keyboard and I like the idea of having multiple smaller controllers at my disposal to drive multiple Virtual or Real synths and samplers as I'm recording, to keep everything at hand. For this reason, the Axiom 25 is a great addition to my rig. Setup went fairly smoothly, but I did have an issue getting the drivers to install as per the instructions. BUT - I fould my solution on the M Audio forums very quickly, so I assume that it's my system that was funky. Either way, I was up and running in minutes. From the outside in I was pretty darn impressed. Build quality is great and the LCD screen is nice, bright and easy to read. Aside from the ol black and whites, I am becoming a huge fan of the transport controls (no need to reach for the mouse when I'm playing) and the aftertouch sensitive drum pads (I really dig using these to control filter sweeps and other parameters in real time - SO much hipper than a mod wheel!). Lastly a few words about the MAIN feature - they keys. As I am not a pianist or a keyboardist primarily, I cannot comment on how well I can get my Stravinksky on, but as an electro pop guy, I find that these keys have a much better feel than the ozone and I can bash out 3 note chords with the best of them. All in all, this controller is a winner and I am now trying to decide if I want to add another 25 or splurge for the 49 key. Hmmm.... the faders WOULD be nice....

Priceless

Comments about M-Audio Axiom 25 25-Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:

The Axiom 25 was my first keyboard EVER. It's compatible with so much. I use it in Reason and the key sensitivity is excellent. It's so versatile i've unplugged it transported it to another studio and plugged it right up. I wouldn't replace it with anything. In my studio it truly is the heart of the set-up. Other than Pro Tools of course.

Comments about M-Audio Axiom 25 25-Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:

This controller is a winner. I love the feel of the pads. Sensitivity can be set in your DAW or in Enigma software that comes with the Axiom. I use it with FL Studio, Logic, and Sonar with no problems. The keys are semi weighted which I love. Transport controls are very useful.

Love at First Sight

Comments about M-Audio Axiom 25 25-Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller:

Wow, this midi controller is the best. I just got a few hours ago and I am instantly in love with it. I am a beginner producer and this midi controller has taken my production skills to a whole new level. It works the best with Frutiy Loops studio which is the best, easiest and versatile production software in the universe. For all people just starting in the production game all you need is this midi controller and fruity loops studio and your set. The only thing after these two items is a full feature studio. What I love about the product is the inclusion drum pads and the feel of it and also the feel of the keys. I love the size of the product and love the ease of snycing the product with Fruity Loops Studio and I gotta say I love the price tag. It's worth it. Please get it ASAP.
