M-Audio fidelity in portable active desktop monitors that won't break the bank.
M-Audio StudioPro 3 active monitors feature powerful amplification, custom-tuned cabinets, optimized speaker design, and advanced crossover technology for the best possible sound. Magnetic shielding prevents these desktop audio monitors from interfering with your computer or video monitor.
Stereo Auxiliary Input and Headphone Output For maximum flexibility, a stereo aux input allows you to plug in a secondary audio source (such as your portable music player) in addition to the main RCA inputs in the back. The volume control works on both inputs simultaneously. Additionally, there is a stereo headphone output next to the aux jack that mutes the sound coming out of the speakers and redirects it to your headphones.
Natural Bass The custom bass reflex port design discharges very low-frequency signals and delivers a smooth, substantial bass response. Need more? The rear-panel bass boost gives you additional low-frequency gain and makes the monitors versatile for different spaces and listening preferences.
Monitor Pads High-frequency audio signals tend to be fairly directional. That's why wedge-shaped monitor pads are included to help point your StudioPro 3s directly at your ears for an optimal listening sweet spot.
Enclosure Provides a more stable performance with a special medium-density fiberboard (MDF) and unique interior reinforcement designed to absorb vibration and impact generated under extreme conditions. Includes carefully placed acoustic material that makes the StudioPro 3's sound much bigger than they are - resulting in a smooth, natural bass response.

Don't let it's size fool you
I have a home studio in one of our rooms. Not a PC-based but a component-based studio with: a Korg D3200 32-Track Recording studio, Roland V-Session series V-Drum kit, and a rack-mount Marshall JMP1 Tube MIDI Preamp amongst other gear. With all of that gear?s capability to accommodate a full range of sound, I needed an efficient studio monitor to compliment my D3200 for recording and mix down. Since my studio is in my house, I needed a monitor that didn?t take much room at all and one that was still efficient enough to where I wouldn?t have to crank it to hear the full range of sound. The M-Audio StudioPro 3 turned out to be just what I needed and it was at a very affordable price. The StudioPro 3 is the low end of M-Audio?s line of monitors but with StudioPro 3?s 3 1/4" woofers; 1" tweeters and 100Hz-20kHz frequency response in tuned and ported enclosures, it commands respect from an audio engineer/musician just the same. It comes with an RCA to 1/4 stereo mini plug for hooking up to your PC?s audio board (Killer PC Speaks) or you can buy a separate audio cable and a couple of RCA to 1/4 inch adapters and use it to monitor the Korg D3200 or anything with 1/4 monitor jacks. It has a bass boost switch on the back for some impressive thumping and a lighted ON/OFF/Volume knob and stereo mini Phone and AUX plugs on the front. Also included are wedge-type speaker stands that allow you to either angle the enclosures up or down depending on where you put them. There are even self-adhering nonskid pads for putting underneath the stands and speakers to keep them from sliding around on smooth surfaces. This is a sweet little studio monitor system but you?ve simply got to hear the M-Audio StudioPro 3 for yourself to appreciate the big and amazing sound quality it delivers.

WOW!!
Great job M audio, these little buggers are loud and accurate! They may seem small but the sounds they make is another story. I use these as a monitoring system for my home recording studio and they are really accurate. I also use them with my computer when listening to music..they are LOUD!!!!!!! BUY THESE if you're on a budget especially...awesome value. If you're not, go for something even bigger and more accurate, these are just a fraction of what you could have.

2 Pro Studio 4 U
I hooked these babies up to my Dell computer, changed the speaker option on my computers control panel for sound and it has enhanced the sound overall of my MP3 and music downloads as if I were listen through a huge stero system.
If you buy the speakers you surely won't be let down and if you don't get any sound right away switch the current switch while powered this kicks in the speakers to be active.

Sometimes bigger isn't always better
I was in a situation of taste and I needed a good compromise, I need good monitors with a nice switchable low end boost without the big space requirement. These came out to be the best pick for my problems. IT also has a front aux headphone jack and is magnetically shielded. Great deal and value is behind my rank.
