  • M-Audio ProKeys 88 Piano

As reviewed by myfriendisrelatedtolespaul on 11/1/2006

This keyboard has a lot of features for the price. MIDI capabilities, pitch and modulation wheels, and around 15 different samples. However I didn't think that the preset piano samples were very accurate of a real piano. Most of the other samples sound good, and this piano does have fully weighted keys, which makes it very lifelike to play. Overall a fairly good value.

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this board. I was hesitent because I hadn't played it before I ordered, but I did a great deal of research. I was thrilled when I opened the box and it hasn't stopped yet. The piano is a little thin, but a little tweaking gets you where you need to be. Hook up as a controller and you have all the sounds you want. Why spend a grand or two more for a million sounds you won't use? I love the feel and completely dig what you can get out of 14 presets. I highly recommend this board for the hobbyist to pro, performance and recording. I'm sold on M-Audio.

  • GREAT

As reviewed by Harold Pittman on 6/18/2009

I bought this board more than two years ago and from day one have been very satisfied with it. I use it most often as a controller and have no bad news to report. As an organist, it took some time for me to get used to playing some things with the fully weighted keyboard. I have used some very expensive boards but none of them have performed with as much ease. The M-Audio's price was unbelievable. I recommend it to anyone who's shopping for an 88 key controller.
