This lightweight padded backpack is specifically designed to carry a laptop, an M-Audio Oxygen8 or Ozone, and all your accessories wherever and whenever you want to make music. Constructed of ballistic nylon. Zippered pockets keep all your tools where you need them.
The M-Audio Studio Pack holds a tremendous amount of stuff! I manage to fit my 15' laptop, midi-keyboard controller, mouse, cables, power adaptors, ipod, notes, books, portable hard drive and more! The center section is a large 'rectangle', that is why this pack differs from others. It has a movable, Velcro partition that allows you to adjust the division to suit your needs. This allows you to accommodate a variety of different laptop sizes and controller sizes (you can use any 27 key controller, most of which are slimmer than the Oxygen). I looked far and wide for a similar bag, but couldn't find one. Overall, it fits nicely in the center of your back -- it's NOT overly cumbersome as it might appear. I was actually surprised by this, but visited Guitar Center, and rest assured -- it felt perfect, especially considering what you've got in it. It's made out of dense nylon with rugged zippers -- it feels very secure, and has nice padding. I especially love the 'dome' zipper top that works great for odd shaped items like power converters and the like. Overall a wonderful bag! If you need to take your studio on the go, you will love it!
I first obtained this bag while attending Berklee in 2003. This was part of a package deal with a Powerbook G4 and Oxygen 8 Keyboard. The Powerbook G4 has since died and I sold the Oxgen 8, but this bag is still going strong as my utility bag for sound engineering. This bag has been through thousands of miles of travel, sand, rain, humidity, etc and the only visible signs of wear on it currently are inside where the divider has been ripped by just a half inch! You won't use all the compartments in this bag (especially the old skool cell phone holder on the side...which did fit my cell at the time of purchase), but my favorites are the zippered portion on top (great for Sharpies) and front slots for headphones/accessories.
This bag is the real deal! i attend musicians institutes' percussion institute of technology in los angelos and needed a bag that could handle carrying all of my school work, sticks, and my laptop. it also had to be comfortable enough for me to walk 5 blocks to school everyday. this bag is by far the best musicians bookbag ever made.
