Great for Home Recording
This unit is by far the best investment I have made in my home studio! I recommend this interface to any and every person that asks how to start a home recording studio.
My setup is simple: a 1.8GHz, P4, 756RAM PC; Cubase SX2, Reason, Sonar 4; electric and acoustic guitars, bass, keyboard, and 2 condenser mics. It works great with the afore mentioned. The phantom power and 2 Ch's are perfectly practical to use with condenser mics, especially recording acoustic guitar in 2 channels (pencil and diaphgram mics). It works great plugging the guitar or the bass line in and using a virtual amp.
The only three drawbacks that I have found and would not keep me from buying it again should it break of get stolen. 1)Lack of MIDI support 2)The drivers may fail (maybe once a week working every day) 3) Only 16 bit vs 24 bit cuts your quality a bit
In summary it's great value for the money and if you are in a budget you don't need to look anymore. This unit will provide you with everything you need and good quality.

Good interface
I am a beginner as far as recording vocals. I bought this interface off of ebay for only 69 dollars (brand new). I gotta say this interface is pretty good as far as quality. I upgraded from that cheesy audio buddy which was outputting too much bass on my vocals, and made it hard to hear the vocals over beats, so do not mess with that thing. This outputs a little bass on the vocals, which is fine, but it doesn't make the vocals peak like the audio buddy. The quality is crispy. I normalize my vocals to 200 percent to see how clear it was and it still sounded good. If you plan on buying this, try to get the deal that I got. It also powers up from USB. It requires no adapter, so that made me even more satisfied. If anyone wants to hear a demo of how it sounds, just email me: cncblack@yahoo.com

Nice Product for the Price
I am using my Mobile Pre USB for about a year and half now and still runs good. Sound quality is very good. It has a built-in latency changer in the software that will allow you to decide on the CPU performance. If you are in a tight budget then you can rely on this.

Perfect Session
I am using this product with a condensor mic to record some jam sessions. I listen in with headphones while recording and the sound is great. Same great sound with play back. The two channels are vey useful and the phatom power is priceless. Phatom power allows me to power the condensor mic and I record to an external hard drive with my laptop. I have used the product for 11 sessions so far and stand behind it as a great deal.

You don't regret buying this one!
This is an awesome box, especially for the price. But, only if your looking for a home studio thing like me. The only thing I've had any problem with it is remembering the turn the phantom power on! There's also a bonus with this, it can record straight from your guitar, but only acoustic.

I Love It
I use this for all my home recording. I plug mics, instruments, and amps into a mixer, and then output the mixer to the MobilePre. It is a wonderful device, that makes recording easy.

A minor problem but top of the line for its price range
This is a perfect little setup for the home/portable studio. For the price, it gives great sound quality, and latency elimination. One complaint: the preamps could be a BIT more transparent, as I've noticed a bit of floor noise in all of my recordings. Definitely not enough to make it any less worth the price though!!!

Great Product!
Just picked up the MobilePre recently, and what can I say? It does everything as advertised - and executes it all perfectly! I instantly fell in love with the quality of the XLR inputs with my cheap mic, and this makes my guitar sound great on my MacBook Pro. Not much buzz and feedback. Speaking of MacBook's, this also solves the problem of the poor headphone ports. You can use this unit to output audio to your speakers via the 1/8th port. So all in all, this is a great unit. Time to start recording...

Everything I need and then some
The only problems I have with this incredible device are due to my own lack of knowledge. I was using a Soundblaster Live 24-bit card. I have a high end PC and I still had terrible lag from the SB. Posts on various MIDI and music related blogs suggested the lag was not the PC, but the sound card. I bought this M-Audio USB sound card and have never looked back. Just today, I was playing back 6 tracks of midi and 2 audio tracks, while recording 2 different audio tracks, all at the same time, with NO audible lag. The thing works like a charm.

Awsome at home recording device
The M-Audio MobilePre USB Portable Audio Interface is an amazing little device. I have worked with sound boards and devices for 6 years and this by far is the coolest one I've seen to date. Unfortunately I do not personally own this item but a friend of mine got it as a graduation present. So i came over and me and another guitar player i know played some music and it recorded beautifully, and at optimal volume you could hear every note and cord played without any problem. I must say however that one of the programs included was slightly annoying as it had a pop up every 10 minutes or so about buying the full version, But as i recall it came with several programs to choose from. All-In-All an amazing at home recording device that i look forward to purchasing for myself.
