No hassle. Easy to use
I am definitely pleased with the Keyrig. To use it I just downloaded the drivers for Vista on the M-Audio website, plugged it in and within 1 minute of configuration I was playing on Reason and Ableton Live.
The pressure sensitive keys are great, the keyboard looks elegant and the quality is excellent.

Great Controller
I bought the KeyRig 49 as an introductory unit to gain a better understanding of midi controllers. All I can say is WOW. For the excellent price, this keyboard is great. The keys have a realistic touch and the pitch wheel is awesome. I simply hooked everything up to my computer and turned on the midi input on my FL Studio 7 and I was ready to go. I love this keyboard and I am VERY pleased. I feel like this is an excellent buy for anyone.

Awesome Controller
i use this controller for use with Reason 4.0 to track r&b, Hip Hop, and play live. this controller is perfect. i did buy an oxygen 61 and i sold it... and bought the keyrig49. I like it better than the oxygen 61. The keys feel better than the oxygen. the only thing that i dont like about it is that its only 49 keys. i wish they had a 61 key version.. but other than that.. its perfect for what u need to use it for

Great keyboard for the price!
I purchased this keyboard a few months ago when I got into composing my own music, and needed something standard to grow on. It was a great investment, and I love the keyboard. It has great features such as the octave changing buttons and the great feeling keys. The only thing I wish it had would be for the pitch wheel to be horizontal instead of vertical, but thats only my taste. Otherwise great keyboard!

OK as starter controller
Works fine for getting my music into my DAW. Action is a little lite for my taste and the some of the keys have begun to 'sink down' on the keyboard after less than a years use at home(I guess I must be over fond of G and E as bass notes). It doesn't exactly seem solid -- but you get what you pay for. I guess the issues the other user had with Vista must have been resolved, as I'm using Vista 64bit and have encountered no problems - in fact, it seems better. I no longer have to reboot to have the KB recognized as a USB device if I forget to plug it in. I think if I was to do it again, I'd pay a few more bucks and get something a little more robust with more on board controlling capabilities

Easy to set up, and to use!
Foolproof. Just plug it in and you're ready. As with older OSes, you might need to install the driver, but even that is easy. I use this controller to control Miditzer, Hauptwerk, and J-Organ. It is also versatile for other instruments, software synths, VST controls, and of course plain MIDI. My volume slider thing broke off; however, I find that the Modulation controller works better for me in that application. Because I am not used to these things, it seems the velocity sensitivity is too high. I very much recommend this.

Small In Size...Mighty In Sound
I was very skeptical when I first decided to buy this board but when I got it home and plugged it up to my laptop...WOW!!! The sound on this thing is amazing and the software that comes with it is so easy to use and have quality sound. If you need a MIDI Controller to sit on your desk while you are producing...this is the one for youi. I love it and plan to get the 61 key station to add and build from this thing...Wonderful station

Hates Vista, Poor Install, poor support
I owned this device for approximately 24 hours. It was not made clear to me that the software provided with the controller was not Vista-compliant and therefore not supported. I encountered ASIO driver errors and the M-Audio Knowledge Base entry failed to accurately solve the issue. Furthermore, the online software registration - mandatory before first use - re-directed me to a Page with an HTTP error. I was on telephone hold for 35 minutes and cut off. after waiting approximately 24 hours for support portal acknowledgement I was told by a support engineer that Vista was not a supported platform and that I should return it to the store. Shame on M-Audio for not providing the information for musicians to make an informed buying decision. That is the last product I will purchase from them.
