Great
Just bought this keyboard a week ago and I love it. It is a good size and has a good weight. The keys have that little resistance which makes a great deal while playing. I love having all those assignable Midi sliders, knobs, and buttons. Basically for this price you just have to get it. I did find i a little confusing to assign the buttons and everything-but no big deal. Even has its own pressure pads for making percussion or triggering events. Great buy

Best for the money... period
As a bassist setting up a home studio and the farthest thing from a trained keyboardist as you can imagine, I can only comment on the physical aspects of this controller... which are superb. Solidly built compared to the vast majority of other keyboard controllers on the market, a vast array of assignable buttons and controls, with the Axiom 49 I don't even have to deal with move to-and-from my laptop to control recording functions - they're built right in on the unit itself. The semi-weighted keys and aftertouch let you know that you're playing much more than a "toy" controller. Quite possible the most important piece of gear I purchased for my studio.

Not going to three strikes and out
I have had two Axiom 49's in the past week and they both had issues, the first one had an issue with the modulation wheel not working and the second one had the same issue with the modulation wheel and the pitch bend also would not work. I could take the pitch bend function and put it on any of the other controls but it just would not work on A18 where it belonged, everytime I tried to reset the control it dropped it back out like it was never there.
Too bad because this unit sure seemed like it would put together things well and it is solid. This second one will be heading back to the GC.

Can't Beat It For The Price!
I recently went to the local Guitar Center where I live to pick up some cable and decided to take a look at the MIDI controllers while I was there. I tried out a few different ones from M-Audio, Novation and Korg. This was the one that stood out among all of them. The action of the keys is great. The drum pads are a great addition along with the transport controls. Though the Enigma software is the real power behind this. The Axiom has 20 banks which you can save templates for hardware instrumets, software instrumets, or pretty much anything that accepts MIDI CC messages. Within a couple of hours, I had the keyboard installed and running with my sequencer and all of my favorite synths setup in different banks. For the look, feel, price and ease of use... You can't go wrong.

Well built and awesome...when it works.
I bought this keyboard brand new from Guitar Center about 6 months ago and it has been an excellent tool for music creation, but not without some problems. When I first opened it out of the box, the middle D key was completely depressed but managed to fix itself when I put it back into the box, thus no longer making it an issue. The keyboard has had pretty bad syncing problems with windows XP, requiring drivers to be reinstalled everytime the USB cable was even moved to a different USB slot (this became very annoying quickly). About a week ago I noticed the LCD screen would randomly flicker just before it would drop out and the computer would no longer recognize it as a usable midi controller requiring a full restart of both the project I was working on in my DAW (Ableton, Reason, and FL Studio 6) and the device itself. This is only something recent so I'm taking advantage of the 3 year performance plan I'm glad I bought. I think I may get this controller again since it's been very useful. Hopefully all these problems were defects in that one particular device!
