Overview

The Heartsong Series is another Luna innovation, sparked by asking players what would facilitate their creative process. What Luna heard is that flashes of creativity do not always happen at opportune times - and inspiration is sometimes lost. Luna got to work with B-band to develop a "plug-and-play" system with a USB output that allows a player to capture their creativity with maximum convenience.

USB Output Jack
Ever had the inspiration to record a song idea, but you were out and about... with no reliable way to capture the moment?

What does the USB output do?
It's a record-on-the-spot solution compatible with any USB-supporting Apple or Windows laptop, smartphone, iPhone or iPad. This output gives you plug-and-play capability into your favorite recording software, so you can record your songs and ideas remotely directly into your device, using your favorite recording app...simply plug in and go.

No external USB power, or powered USB bus/hub, is required. This solution gives you your standard guitar output jack, a 9-volt battery compartment, and a Type I USB jack. A USB Type I-to-Type II cable is also included for your convenience (iPhone/iPad users will need the Apple Camera Connector kit to complete the connection from the Guitar to the iPhone/iPad's connector). Case sold separately.

No shellfish were harmed
For you vegans out there who have been requesting a guitar without mother-of-pearl or abalone, this guitar has no animal by-products.

Probably the best guitar for $300

Comments about Luna Guitars Heartsong Grand Concert Acoustic Electric Guitar With USB:

This guitar sounds fantastic. It's not as "boomy" as a full dreadnought, but it is far more comfortable to play and hold. It's not quite as loud as I'd like, but it has exceptionally balanced sound, and since it's an electric acoustic, the lack of projection is easily solved by amping up. The neck is nicely shaped in a soft C, and the action is about as low as it can get for an acoustic. Intonation is dead on right out the box. I'd very much recommend this guitar if you are on a somewhat tight budget. In fact, if you are considering a Yamaha FG700S or similar, it is most definitely worth the wait to just save up the extra $100, as you would be far happier with the Luna.

Comments about Luna Guitars Heartsong Grand Concert Acoustic Electric Guitar With USB:

I really wanted to love this guitar, or at least like it a lot given how inexpensive it is. It was well reviewed, looks gorgeous, and the USB output looked really cool and possibly useful (though I think it's ridiculous that you also have to have a regular cable hooked up to activate the electronics of the USB output - why?!?). But my experience with it showed why you have to actually try a guitar out, rather than buy it based on specs, looks, reviews, etc. Guitar Center had two on display. I tried the first one, and it played and sounded okay if not great. Decided to try the onboard tuner, and... nothin'. It wasn't receiving a signal from the pickup, even with a fresh battery. So, tried the second one, and got a bit of a signal registering on the tuner, but it was inconsistent and not very accurate. Then, tried plugging it into an amp. No signal. "Bad cord?" I thought. No, another nearby guitar worked fine. So, that's two guitars with bad pickups, that play and sound okay but not great. I asked the helpful GC sales guy if he recommended anything in about the same price range, and he immediately suggested I try the Yamaha FSX700SC - also $299, like the Luna. What a difference! Everything worked on the electronics (it also has the onboard tuner), it sounded EXCELLENT both plugged in and unplugged (even without me adjusting anything either on the guitar or on the amp), and it felt fantastic. Plays much better than this Luna. If you've got three bills to spend on an acoustic guitar, forget about this one - go with Yamaha. Luna, you potentially had a lifelong customer, and you lost him.

I play daily and really like the guitar, my second after my first of 20 plus years.
Con is the tuner is not the best and is quite an expense to upgrade!
If you buy a guitar off the rack, have the guitar tech go over it and ask him /her their opinion of the instrument!

Comments about Luna Guitars Heartsong Grand Concert Acoustic Electric Guitar With USB:

I was in the market for a 'good-enough' replacement guitar, as my old Takamine broke literally in half one day(don't ask how), and Luna more than exceeded my expectations with the Heartsong-6. The intonation has been dead-on, not a single string buzzes whatsoever when held amply(which is saying something as I bend a-ton and create painful, abstract chords to fulfill my playstyle) and the woodwork is phenomenal. The moon and heart design is inlayed expectionally well and thus, indiscernable to the touch. Furthermore, there isn't a cheap gloss coating over any of this guitar, so the sound is genuine and self-evident.

The cut-away is great if you use the range, but the built in electronics, although good, could be better for a guitar that otherwise presents itself so strongly. The tuner is a tad inconsistent, but it definitely works to get yourself in tune if you're gentle about it. The sound of the electronics are fine, and they work. I may replace them myself, but it's not at all what I would call necessary as its definitely good enough out of the box and I haven't need to replace the 9Vsince I got it last month, so cheers.

Other than that, the guitar itself is fantastic. So much so that I don't even miss my $550 takamine whatsoever. This guitar itself sings and sustains it's notes strongly and evenly across the board , the neck is smooth mcgroove, and all-in-all, there's nothing negative I can even really say about the guitar that isn't merely a perosnal cosmetic issue. For the price, I couldn't be more satisfied.
