I like the fact that Luna guitars were founded by a woman and really were made for a woman although my 30 year old son owns a Luna Muse Dreadnought & it's a good, full size guitar.
The headstock and fretboard are made of quality materials...The only thing I would have liked to seen on this guitar is something around the sound hole... It just seems unfinished somehow.
The strings provided are D'addario, which are of good quality.
Really, the only thing I don't like is there is nothing around the sound hole!
It sounds great & for the money... You get more bang for your buck !
First of all, the body of the Gypsy Spalt fits great while sitting and playing.. It's curvature fits yours and makes playing a totally comfortable experience.
The neck easily accomodates small hands & overall, this guitar is great for a woman.
The sound isn't quite as 'Bass-ey" and deep as most acoustic guitars, but it compliments those instruments that have a deeper, bass resonance.
For the price, this is a well made instrument. The look and finish are awesome!
Great value.. I think for either a beginner or seasoned player, this is a great piece.

I'm probably one if the few who bought a luna guitar in spite of how it looked. though i am a girl i didn't want a "girly" guitar, but when i was trying guitars in the store, i kept gravitating back to this one.

it was the only one in my price range that "felt right" in my hands, was the best amount of action for me, and the one i purchased had no buzzing. HOWEVER i bought the display guitar, because the new, untouched one they brought out for me DID have buzzing on the top two strings, so maybe i just got lucky with this one. the other more expensive lunas i tried didn't sound great to me, but this one sounded better and warmer to me than any other guitar in my price range, and to my untrained ear (i've been playing 10 years, but would still consider myself a beginner), i myself couldn't hear much of a difference between a super expensive taylor and this guitar. i could feel and hear the difference between it and other guitars in it's price range however. and again, it just "felt right" in my hands. BUT AGAIN, a different Luna Gypsy Spalt didn't sound as good as the one I bought due to the buzzing (and maybe the newer untouched strings??) and buzzing can be fixed...i think... lol.

I used to own a taylor GS mini, and i didn't sound great on that, but i do like how i sound on this guitar and it's way easier to finger pick than my gs mini was. IMO this does have a warm sound. is not loud, and sounded just fine when hooked up to the amp.

i wouldn't buy a luna (or any other guitar) without first playing it, as it will always be hit or miss, and even the best guitars are a matter of personal preference. i love luna's chunkier neck, and the body fit my own body well. so even though it has a graphic design on the front (which may be pretty but still "fake" none the less) i purchased this as the one i tried felt and sounded great. just try before you buy!

    Amazing!

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

Not only is the price great, the GUITAR is great! Glad I picked one up at this price. It also is an acoustic/electric, (at least the one I picked up) and the photos here do not show that. I have Fender, Washburn, Martin, and a few others, and this Luna still sounds and plays as good or better. Still amazed at the looks, feel, tone, ease, all in this package. And sexy.... what a sexy music maker!

Best guitar in its price range.

        By chris mamula

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

I got this guitar a few weeks ago used at GC and I have to say I am impressed with how well this guitar plays. i have been playing for about 10 to 11 years now and have had some vintage guitars as well as cheap swap meet guitars. If you are a budget guitarist and in need of a great sounding guitar without having to spend that big amount of money. Then this guitar is what you want. I got lucky because mine was installed with a pickup, but even when I just pick it up and play it sounds as good as my buddies yamaha CPX 500ii both plugged in and straight acoustic. the neck is perfect on this guitar making it really easy to hit those harder chords. I had to lower the action down a bit but that is only because I am used to having incredibly low action. If you play in like drop C or in DADGAD tuning like I do get yourself some light strings because I have a set of martin 12's on here and they sometimes buzz too much. also i wish it had actual tuners then just die cast ones. they hold tune though don't get me wrong it just that if you are gonna make a guitar that looks this good, spent the extra couple bucks and get some proper tuners. all in all though this guitar is the best 6 string in its price range.

        Beautiful tone

        By David Lincoln

        from Manchester, CT

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

For the price this guitar looks AND sounds beautiful. Really a great buy for the price. I'm new to guitar and wanted something reasonably priced. I brought my husband along to try them out because he's an advanced player. I had my eye on a yamaha because it had a ton of ratings and 5 stars, but the sound of this Luna was much brighter and nicer. I'm sad to see two reviewers gave it 4 stars because it deserves 5 for the sound. I was worried they'd give up quality to make it "pretty" but there's no quality lost here.

        Birthday Present

        By Keven Beaird

        from Fort Worth, Texas

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

Bought one of these for my son's 16th birthday. For a guitar at this price point, It has excellent fretting, the keyboard is very comfortable, and the sound quality is unmatched. This guitar performs acoustically as well as guitar models at twice the price. Electronically the jury is still out-- seems to have good sound and a suprising punch (without hollow mid tones) but there is a krackle/hiss above half volume, may just have a faulty volume pot or weak battery connection. We are returning this one and will be checking the electronics on the others in stock. If we weren't having issues this would be 5 stars. Excellent for beginners and hobbiest that wish to have a quality sound and fret but wish to stay on budget.

        Birthday Present Follow-up

        By Keven Beaird

        from Fort Worth, Texas

Comments about Luna Guitars Gypsy Spalt Grand Concert Acoustic Guitar:

I gave a review earlier on the performance of this guitar. I would like to add this review as a follow-up. The electronics in this guitar are sensitive to cable issues. The guitar was making hiss and krackle above half volume, tried 2 different cables (that I have been using on-stage) the cables are silent, plugged to my basses, but hiss here. I pulled a never used cable and the hiss is gone.....other cables still silent with bass. The sound of the electronics is clean and punchy. Presence adds brightness...even when run thru a bass amp. Had to get within 3 feet of the speaker at full volume for feedback (running on a 350 watt amp)without sound hole cover.....absolutely stage worthy. I will keep good cables for this guitar and it will prove to be a great buy.....5 stars.

I bought this for my friends to learn guitar during downtime at the aid station I work at in Afghanistan. I was pro before I joined the army so I have some experience with guitars of all levels. While this one isn't terrible, it's not one of my favorites. It does have a big sound and nice fat neck as well as a very nice faux finish, so you will want to play it. In my experience, having a serviceable guitar that you want to play is half the battle in learning to play.
