Great Drums!

By Ryan

from Clinton Township Mi

The drums are excellent. Being a drummer, I didn't want a "toy" piece of garbage that my son would beat the hell out of. It was definitely worth the extra money to get an actual smaller scale drum set. The cymbals and the pedal are cheap, poor quality, but overall the set is a perfect starter set for a small child. If your not familiar with putting together a drum set, you may want to find someone to help you. I imagine it would have been a nightmare to assemble if you have no drum experience.

First Drum Kit

By Diane

from Brooklyn, NY

Bought this kit for my 7 year old son who just started taking drum lessons. Excellent Ludwig quality and looks great! We bought the blue set. Took a while to put together but not an issue. My sons first reaction was that the cymbals were tiny, I agree. We plan on purchasing better ones in the near future. As far as the drums themselves, they are made of excellent quality you would expect from Ludwig. Great price for a beginner set and if he keeps it up we can always upgrade in a couple of years. We live in an apartment and this set sits off to the side and does not take up much space. Highly recommend for a first set for the young player starting off.

Perfect starter!

By Aaron

from Charleston, SC

I bought this kit for my daughter (9 years old) as a starter. Pros: Perfect size! The shells, heads, and hardware are GREAT quality, especially for this price. Very sturdy when assembled correctly. Comes with everything to start playing and even some extra hardware pieces for "just in cases". Cons: Cymbal and hi-hat are cheap "tin" quality. No instructions. Could be difficult to assemble for a non-experienced drummer. Overall, I love this little drum kit. I gave it 5 stars because of the price and the quality of the main parts. As used for a starter kit, I expected the cymbals to be cheap, but the price made up for it. I suggest putting a pillow in the base drum so it dampens that "hollow" sound. Ludwig is always a reliable brand!

Drummer Mom

By amber outten

from Newark, DE

I purchased this product for my 7yr old and he loves them. I have never really looked at a set of drums before this. It was a bit overwhelming with no instructions but once I got it layed out I quickly figured it out. It took me less then an hour to put together. It would have been a 5 star if the instructions were included. = )

Soooo Good-Looking!

By Raelyn Voisine

from League City, TX

I purchased the Wine Red Set! Sooooo pretty! I am NOT a pro at drums, just figured my 2 1/2 yr old son would love it!! It is a little large for him now which is ok as he can grow with it!!! The kit did not come with instructions and I was in a panic, but if you google the prouct name, it will show a pdf copy!!! I actually enjoyed this cause it had step by step pictures as well!!!!! Yay!

The Cymbals

By Chris J

from Private, PR

I love this kit! It is a great starter kit and I love the "wine red" color on this particular kit. Sure the kit didn't come with instructions on how to put it together but I am a drummer so it's not that hard. I also like how you can adjust every little thing so it will always match your height. Another good thing about this kit is that the sound is phenomenal The only bad thing is that the cymbals sound like you are banging on pie tins.

excellent starter kit...

By rob brown

from New york state

this was a great starter kit, plenty of pieces, looks good, quality construction. . Definately worth the money. looks good and sounds good. half of it was tuned already and the hardware is fairly rugged for anybody under 100lbs. This kit didnt come with instructions either but most of its pretty self explanitory if youve ever been around a drum set, and anything else you can view online. daughter loves playing it while i play guitar. I would definately recommend it. Its easily got a leg up over similar priced "starter kits" out there.

Pretty great little set for the price

By Marcus Pina

from Austin TX

Really nice set for the price. Sounds surprisingly good. There were no instructions in the box - I figured it out but can imagine that would be a challenge for some customers. The hi hat and ride/crash cymbals are small and sound plinky. Shells sound great and snare is pretty good too. My 8 yrs old little guy, loves it.

Great starter drum set

By Stephanie

from SF, CA

We're really pleased with this. We've had this set for a few weeks and it seems to be a good quality set with good sound, especially for the price. It's the right size for both our 5 yr old girl and 2.5 yr old boy (the stool that it comes with can be adjusted higher or lower depending for the height of the player). My only gripe is that our set didn't come with assembly instructions, but I was able to find some instructions on-line (it would've been impossible to assemble w/o instructions). Assembly takes 30-60 minutes. I'd definitely recommend this set and would buy it again.

Great Set All Around

By Chris

from Los Angeles, Ca

Bought this kit for my 3 year old (yeah, a little early, but hey...) and was really surprised at the quality of the drums and hardware. Everything is sized down for a child of no more than 12 or so, but very solid build and great sound out of the box. The cymbals are basically throw aways, but something to use until you know if your budding rock star is in fact a budding rock star. Otherwise this kit is worth more than you pay for it and the drums that come with it can easily be worked into a new, standard size set down the road...hardware as well. GREAT BUY!
