The Ludwig Supra-Phonic Snare Drum features chrome metal shell construction that offers a bright, cutting, and crisp sound found on a multitude of classic pop and jazz hits of the last several decades. The Supra-Phonic snares are wonderfully responsive, a quality that's further enhanced by their triple-flanged hoops. The 6-1/2" deep version produces deep, fat tone and great projection. 10 classic lugs, with a P-85 throw-off. A versatile drum that's perfect for styles ranging from symphonic to arena rock.

  • THE SNARE DRUM.

    I have been playing drums for 42years started playing ludwig in the 60's and I still play them. I just bought another LM402 I have played most every brand out there most sound too tight then there's the one's that sound's like a cardboard box then there is ludwig the only one that sound's like a real snare drum. I have two ludwig kit's one at church and one I tour with.

  • Classic sound can't be beaten!

    I am in love with this snare. It has great crack and projection, but also has great sensitivity. Very versatile snare, really no style it couldn't be used for. Even though I usually prefer wooden snares, this thing is my exception to the rule. I love this thing with a coated ambassador over an ambassador side- can't be beaten!

  • OH GOODNESS.

    I went to this guys house where he kind of gave me a lesson. Then he pulled out his 14x6.5 chrome Supraphonic and was like, "puberty will run it's course when you hear this drum." And he was NOT kidding. That was the best snare I've ever heard/gotten the chance to play on.
