The Ludwig Rocker Steel Shell Snare Drum has 8 lugs and measures 6-1/2" x 14". This snare has the big, projecting sound sought after by great rock drummers.
This is a pretty good snare for the price. You can get a high pitch, bright crack out of this. Though it took me awhile to find the exact sound, I was pleased with the overtones with the remo power stroke 3 head. Although, somtimes it takes a good wack to get the full sound. Not the most sensitive snare, but you won't be disappointed if it is your first snare perchase.
