The Liverpool 4 hosts the configuration and 3-ply shell heard most on the timeless recordings of yesterday, and is the first Legacy kit to feature standard-sized Classic lugs and Ludwig's new Rail Consolette tom mount.

The first 100 sets will feature Ludwig's 100th Anniversary badge on each drum, making them another benchmark in the classic Ludwig timeline.

    Elegantly beautiful, high gloss black pearl shells recall the breakthrough days of the Beatles and stand the test of time. The set is compact, even with the addition of classic Zildjan high hat, ride and crash cymbals (bought separately from my local drum store). Recommend replacing the Ludwig heads with 1) the Aquarian Super Kick II head for the bass, giving it a crisp and solid "boom" 2)Remo coated heads on the well-matched toms, providing a warm, melodic tone and 3) Remo coated head on the snare for crispness and controlled ring. (Add dish towels over the heads, like Ringo did, and you'll reproduce the sound of the Beatles later albums!) Drums were easy to tune. Hardware much improved from the flimsy stuff on the original Ludwigs I had circa 1965. So glad I spent the extra bucks for this awesome set.
