The drum sets hardware includes single-braced hi-hat stand, low snare stand, cymbal stand, footpedal, shell mount cymbal holder, and rocker single tom holder.

Ludwig Fab 4 Classic Maple Kit with 22" Kick

I love this kit, after selection through extensive listening tests at Guitar Center compared to other top of line kits. What I dig is the tone of the drums; they have a resonance and depth I have not found available in other top kits. The 14" depth bass drum also appealed, as it provides flexibility for all genres of music not readily found with deeper kicks. The covered finish is cool and retro and imparts some punch to the sound. I have alwasys loved the sound of Ludwig kits, and this one does not disappoint. The edges are excellent. Also, I found the price very reasonable for a USA made kit from one the last remaining non-boutique US drum companies. There are many retro features including tom mounts and bass spurs from Ludwig drums of the 70's and updated mini lugs. My kit has a very cool natural maple bass drum hoop with sparkle wrap inlay. The hardware is first rate, including the rack tom mount. The rack tom does not include a RIMS mount, another retro feature. I was surprised the kit inlcuded a 6-1/2" depth snare; however, the snare is very bright and has some depth and a nice krack. It matches the tone of the kit perfectly. The drums include WeatherMaster medium weight heads. They have good resonanace and great tone; although heavy hitters may want to switch to a heavier or 2 play head. The front and back bass drums heads incorporate rings and are well suited for the kick drum. All in all, a great sounding, top quality kit at a reasonable price, with many classy retro features. I could not ask for more.

Fab-4

I owned this kit for 2 years and just reccently got rid of it. Mine was a black Laquered finish which was the only thing that turned me off to this kit. It scratched horibly easily, even with your fingernail if you were not careful. I loved the tone and the sizes of the drums. They are very full sounding toms that you can get almost any sound out of it that you would want within reason. They tune high nicely for jazz and also tune very low for rock. No matter how you tune it. It still sounds great.
