Excellent for the price

I went to the Guitar Center store specifically to by a Ludwig Supra-phonic snare. I couldn't afford the brass so I was going to settle for the chrome on steel. The sales guy asked me to compare Ludwig's 6.5 X 14 brass and 5.5 X 14 bronze snares. With Evans G1 heads the brass snare sounded great! Deep tone of a wood snare with the punch and snap of a metal snare. Since I play jazz and some rock, this is the sound I am looking for. I haven't been playing long on this snare but I know that I am going to enjoy playing it. I also am happy to have spent 1/2 the price of the supra-phonic.
