I've owned this guitar for two months now. Is it the greatest guitar I've ever played? No, but it's as fine a $200 guitar as I've ever played. The slightly thinner body is comfortable without sacrificing much in the way of tone. The neck is fantastic and is this guitar's best feature! I've always had problems with the width & thickness of classical guitars, but this one, while having a properly wide fingerboard, is not as thick. Makes for easier barre chording, etc. I was not looking for a guitar with a pickup/preamp, but I've tried it out and it sounds pretty good (with a lot of amp EQ). Not traditional in looks, but a very pretty guitar nonetheless. Overall, at $200(and well beyond!) you won't find a nicer classical / nylon stringed guitar.

the battery is where?

Comments about Lucero LCT250CE Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar:

The playability is good on this guitar for the price, but this guitar is thin and has to be amplified to get a good sound. The problem with this guitar is, the battery for the pickup is inside the guitar. You have to take off the strings, reach inside through the sound hole and if you have big hands like i do it is a big hassle. It is bad enough putting new strings on a classical guitar without having to try to fish a battery out of it.

Partial solution to the battery problem / My overall review

By Mitch Wiedemann

from Ithaca, NY

Comments about Lucero LCT250CE Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar:

I tried a number of classical guitars at GC before I bought this Lucero LCT-250. Other more expensive guitars had better acoustic sound quality (the Cordoba C5-CE, for example) but the Lucero had a very good price and a pleasant sound (acoustic and amplified) for my purposes. I really like the feel of the Lucero's neck and fretboard, and the slim body depth is very comfortable. The action is nice and low (lower than the Cordoba) and I like that too. There is no getting around the fact that the battery placement inside the guitar body is a stupid design decision. That's the only reason I'm giving my review three stars instead of four. However, what I did to make this less of a hassle is go to a electronic parts store and buy two 9-volt battery snap connectors, and wired them together to make an "extension cord" for the battery. Once I got my extender in place, I can slack the strings, reach in and unclip the battery, and pull it out of the sound hole to connect a new one. Then pop it back in place. It's still hassle, but better than the brain-dead original design. I hope this idea is helpful to others.

I'm satisfy with the quality of the guitar.

Comments about Lucero LCT250CE Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar:

The sound produced by the guitar is very amazing for the cost of it. However, I'm not very happy with the string that comes with it. Its old and not usable. I'd to change it right away and it sounds just nice right after.

Great Classical Guitar For The Money

By Dave S.

from Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Comments about Lucero LCT250CE Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar:

Went to Guitar Center knowing that I wanted an electric classical guitar...was thinking Takamine or Yamaha...but this black beauty does everything I could ask for in the more expensive models. So, if you want to spend more...it's your cash, but this guitar won't let you down. Buy it!

I like it

By Roger Torres

Comments about Lucero LCT250CE Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar:

I like this guitar. I bought for myself on Christmas and I was playing it all the time. The sound is not that deep but it is because it is a thinline cutaway guitar. It is very Portable and you can take any were. The only 2 big problem was that 2 day later i hooked it up to a pa system and no sound was coming out. it look like the pick up mest up and I also hate changing the battery. I exchange for another on because i still like the guitar.

Well worth the money for a great sounding student guitar

By Phillip Ma

from Burnaby British Columbia

Comments about Lucero LCT250CE Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar:

This guitar is a great sounding guitar for its cost. I've spent a great deal of time looking for an inexpensive classical guitar to play more Spanish influenced pieces and this hit the mark and was everything i was expecting and more. You get great volume and a warm tones out of this really thin and smaller body guitar. You wouldn't think it when you first saw it. The cutaway really makes the higher frets accessible which is an added bonus. Many of the classical guitars i've seen don't have any reference dots on the fretboard. This makes it a bit harder trying to teach someone else how to play but the side of the neck does have some dots that will give a student some reference to which fret their fingers are on. the neck is thinner than most of my other guitars i own but it still feels like a pretty solid neck. With its thin body and thin neck it make it pretty easy to play this guitar for hours on end. The battery is pretty hard to get to. I've only had to replace it once but considering this is more of a student guitar than a gigging or studio guitar its a negligible matter. Overall its a great sounding guitar with a good price point. There are a few tradeoffs but well worth the investment if you're looking for a classical guitar to try out or learn on.

Awesome Guitar, Great Price

By J. Chatman

from Atlanta, Georgia

Comments about Lucero LCT250CE Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar:

This guitar is awesome. I tried it out in the store after trying out a thicker singlecut of the same brand name. I was sold by the bright sound and the easy to play neck. The only issue I had was that the Guitar went out of tune for a while after I bought it, but there weren't any problems after that. If you're looking for a classical guitar, and don't want to be broke, this is definitely something to look at.

Feels like I should have paid a lot more

By KC

from New Jersey

Comments about Lucero LCT250CE Thinline Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Classical Guitar:

I've been meaning to buy a classical guitar for ages and after getting this one in my hands for a half hour I was far beyond sold. The neck is very comfortable, the body us surprisingly thin and even though there are only 2 bands for the EQ, there's still a fair amount of variation in tone to be had. The body is a little thinner than most classical's I've played but make no mistake: The tone does not suffer as a result. The input jack feels snug and well built and the thing just sings out of the box. Beautifully behaved tone when playing acoustically as well. Very recommended if you want a quality classical that is acoustic/electric and don't want to break the bank.
