I just recently started playing guitar a few months ago, and this happened to be my first guitar as a gift. From top to bottom the guitar is beautiful..the frets are nice and spaced out, and the strings are very soft..which is good if you're just starting as it's easier on your fingers. One thing I don't particularly like about this guitar is the inability to reach extremely high notes..even the 15th fret is tough to reach, but all in all it's a great guitar for only 100 bucks.

I've had this guitar for two years now and when I first got it, it was because the guitar was cheap and I wanted to practice technique. First the good. This guitar is unbeatable for the price and it doesn't sound half bad. Now for the terrible... The action on mine came set WAY to high, and on top of that this thing buzzes everywhere if your not precise and technical in your playing. For the longest time I thought the reason I couldn't get a clean sound out of this thing was that my playing was too sloppy... Not so, I've played other more expensive classical guitars and the difference was night and day. If you just need something to sit down and mess around with go for it, but spend a little more money and get something that plays much better.

Comments about Lucero LC100 Classical Guitar:

I got this guitar about six months or fewer ago. Once it's tuned I don't have to retune it too often for how much I play it. One thing I don't really like about this is that I noticed that after around three weeks of owning this guitar the strings started to wear more. It's not a major but kind of annoying. I wouldn't say that affects the quality of this guitar, though. It's a good guitar with a nice build.

By Tom

Pros

  • Black color is quite attractive.
  • Hesitant to go with laminate top...sound great..
  • Narrower classical neck helps fingering.
  • Nylon strings seem to keep in tune well.
  • Smaller guitar size makes handling easier.
  • Surprising sound quality.

Cons

  • Sales persons both in store and on line pleasant

Best Uses

  • Good guitar to get fingers in shape.

Comments about Lucero LC100 Classical Guitar:

Works well to condition fingering. More suited as a work guitar rather than performance.

I bought two of these guitars for the non profit I work at. The price is perfect for the non profit and if the price stays the same, I am looking forward to buy one/two every month or so.

Comments about Lucero LC100 Classical Guitar:

I got the black one. it's a beautiful guitar. I'd say for the price it's a pretty good guitar. i recommend it for beginners. sounds decent, plays decent.. obviously it doesn't sound or hold tune like a $500 guitar but again for the price you can't ask for more.

Very good entry level

By Samantha

Pros

  • Beautiful finish

Cons

  • Muted Tones

Best Uses

Comments about Lucero LC100 Classical Guitar:

I'm not about to sit here and pretend this guitar is the greatest classical there is. I've played better in store; but this guitar definitely gets the job done. The sound produced is very similar to any Nick Drake or Leonard Cohen record, so if you are unfamiliar with the sound check those out. I have a very large Martin acoustic guitar. It's a hassle to bring it around so I looked into smaller with a different sound. I fell in love with the finish of this guitar it was magnificent and the sound quality is alright. I personally think this is good for children and even for adults with high quality guitars who want to play around with a drastic sound difference. By all means I recommend this product, though there are better out there.

Comments about Lucero LC100 Classical Guitar:

The Lucero LC100 is a decent quality classical guitar. I own a black one, and I enjoy it's loud and clear, if boxy, tone. Be prepared to maybe have to file sharp fret ends - not too big a deal if you have the proper tool and the know-how. The cheap tuners bind a lot where the cams go into the head stock. They are not smooth turning at all because of this. They do hold tune very well however.

Mine was a used instrument that I purchased for a low price, so I didn't mind putting a little effort into getting it into good playing condition. If I were buying a brand new classical for a beginner or maybe a "campfire" classical, I would look at Yamaha's student guitar offerings which typically have great fret work, sound, and smooth tuning right out of the box for a similar price.

This guitar is a standard size classical with modern string scale and nut width of 2 inches. The wider neck and string spacing may not be suitable for someone who has very small hands or who doesn't want to play classical or fingerstyle music on a guitar.

Nice addition

Comments about Lucero LC100 Classical Guitar:

I have had this guitar for a few weeks now and must say for the money you can't beat it. I bought this guitar to add a change of pace to what I normally play a Gibson SG and a Ibanez Accoustic electric don't let the price fool you this is a nice sounding guitar and a great way to get started with a classical string instrament. I Strongly suggest you change out the strings right away to some quality brand to really hear the true Sound this guitar is capable of. I put some D'Adarro Classic Folk Black trebles and the sound just exploded
