Solid ceder top and Fishman pickup.

The LC200SCE was built for the discerning modern classical player. The rosewood headstock overlay matches the richness of the back and sides for a high-end look, while classic touches like rear marquetry inlays, gold tuners with pearloid keys, and multi-ply top binding complete the package.

The LC200SCE also features a Fishman Clasica preamp system which offers 2 bands of EQ, a phase switch to control feedback, and a built-in chromatic tuner to keep your playing tight and in tune on any stage. Case sold separately.

I found almost no reviews for this guitar, but noted many online music stores selling it for more. I took a chance, knowing I could return it. Out of the box: Stunning! Beautiful fit and finish. I really can't say enough about it. Now for the sound: First I changed the strings to D'Addario EJ45C Pro-Arte Composite Classical Guitar Strings, hard Tension. After tuning over the course of a few days and letting the strings stretch and the guitar adjust to the new tension, the timbre just kept getting better, as well the pitch retention (of course). Now this guitar sings! The harmonics are vibrant! Dynamics wide and easy to control. Action, after making one small truss rod adjustment, low with no fret buzz (unless I really twang it). For the price I couldn't be happier. Now about me,so you'll know where this review is coming from: I'm a 63 year old amateur guitar player, but I have been around live music most of my life. I have a BA in Music, have played the trumpet in a myriad of groups and styles (jazz, symphonic, musicals, opera, etc.), and am credentialed to teach Music K-14. Buy this guitar, and I think you will be very, very happy.

I bought this guitar 6 years ago, (although mine is an LC 200CE) this has been the best purchase I have ever made. I had a budget of about 1000 when I originally went researching for an entry level acoustic to Spanish classical playing. I had my heart set on a Martin, but couldn't find one in my price range that had what I was looking for. In my opinion, this guitar sounds better than anything under 1500. Hooked up with the right strings, this has a rich mid-tone, deep bass, and a loud crisp high end. It has a natural harmonic ring that I haven't found in anything near its price range. I'm still impressed with it, and it just keeps sounding better. One of my favorite features of this guitar is the width of the neck. Coming from electric guitars, I had a hard time transitioning to fast playing on the increased distance between the strings. The lucero neck is narrow enough to speed through an arpeggio and wide enough to flamenco pick and string bend. The stock pickup was surprisingly good for basic home recording, but I ultimately upgraded to a clip on mic. On a side note- when I first bought my lucero, I went home and the pickup did not work, so I went back to Guitar Center, and they found me a new one at another store, and gave me a discount for the trouble. Got home, and the new one is still working at 100%, very satisfied customer.

  • Excellent value for the price.

As reviewed by Francisco Trevino on 10/29/2012

I was concerned about the price of this guitar, I was not sure I would get something good for such a low price. I have played classical guitar for many years but never had the chance of buying a rosewood guitar before and I was very exited. So I went to the store, touched it, played it, I loved the sound and quality. That was about 6 months ago, I saw the review of the exploded one and I went to check mine immediately. It was fine. I recently changed the strings for a low tension ones, they sound magnificent. I live in Tennessee which is very humid, but I haven't had any problem, I think he had bad luck.
