I love these strap locks! I have always hated strap locks for the simple fact that they are (1)too bulky and (2)make the strap sit too far away from the guitar creating this awkward looking gap. These locks are very simple and minimal in design and sit very close to the guitar. Also, no need for twisting/pulling to put them on, simply push. I heard from a guitar center employee that they are made by the people that make the locks for lamborghini hoods. I'm going to buy these for all 7 of my guitars.
They are very nice and dont poke you in the side when you wear them. I would highly reccommend them to everyone. Just buy them and youll love them.
After doing a ton of research, I decided on the Loxx brand strap locks for my Epi Les Paul, and I wasn't disappointed. These are a new product, but based on an old design. They were originally intended to hold the rag tops on convertibles, and have been used by Mercedes, BMW and Audi (which speaks volumes about their quality.) What struck me was not only that they were well made, but that they were by far the best looking strap locks available. Installation was easy. The screws were the same as the existing buttons, so it was simply unscrew the old and screw on the Loxx. The part on the strap attaches with a wrench provided. The strap is sandwiched between two very broad pieces of metal, so it isn't going anywhere. The guitar part is a small ball that is grasped by the part on the strap. Simply press it on and it snaps securely in place. When you want to release it, you simply pull up on the button and it falls away easily. You can snap it on and release it quickly with one hand. Very smooth and very well constructed. The manufacturer claims it will hold up to 220 pounds of force, and I don't see any reason to doubt them. Very solid product. With the strap off, the Loxx look very dainty compared to the original button, which I think looks very good. On the guitar, they are not much bigger than the original button so they still look great. No big hunk of metal here. There are a lot of strap locks on the market, and a lot of them are very good, but in terms of being well built and visually attractive, there's nothing better out there than Loxx. I can't recommend this product enough. If you love your guitar and you are in the market for a great set of strap locks to protect your baby, then you're crazy if you buy anything else.
