This pedal is amazing, im not quite sure how they cram the sound of a vintage marshall stack into this puppy, but they do. wether its heavy, medium, or lite distortion this one has all of them. this thing just oozes sustain and tone. i highly recommend this pedal to anyone, especially if you need sound meaty distortion sounds. even when the drive is maxed out it still stays very clear, and very very shreddable. when u back of the drive( on the pedal) it still sounds really warm. if your playing blues or delay laden craziness or just Rock n' Roll, this is the pedal for you.

I got this pedal to add a little gain to my already cranked marshall and it does not do a very good job at that. It sounds better than some cheaper distortion pedals, but its too bassy. I don't like that it tries to emulate a british stack tone rather than just adding gain, it does not seem to work well with my high end marshall JTM45, so i don't know what it WILL work with. Im returning this pedal and swithching to the Fulltone OCD.

Great for a Strat and Fender clean channel. Wow!

By Dr. J

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This little box looks simple but is a real sleeper. I play either an Eric Johnson Strat or my '58 through a Fender Blues reissue amp which has one of the best clean channels you can find but wimpy wimpy wimpy lead distortion. Problem fixed. Now the same amp clean channel sounds like an early 70's Marshall stack, no BS. This pedal is the perfect compliment for clean channels and has a great Marshall like tone. All my other pedals are getting dusty.

Lovepedal Superlead

By Derek Murtagh

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

This pedal made my '89 Les Paul Standard plugged into my '59 Bassman sound terrible. The overdrive sounds like that of a really cheap solid state amp. This pedal makes the very best guitars and amps sound like garbage.I had mine for 18 hours before heading back to Guitar Center to return it.If you are looking for a REALLY nice overdrive go for the Fulltone OCD.You cant go wrong with that pedal.Spend the extra couple of bucks and go Fulltone!!

It's an AWESOME pedal, BUT.....

By Michael Allen

from Ann Arbor, Mi.

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

The description that Sean Michael (the inventor of "Love Pedal") uses to describe the "Superlead" is in fact, misleading. In my humble opinion this pedal in no way sounds like a "plexi" in tone. I use a standard strat through a stock Mark II Marshall head and cab and already can dial in a pretty convincing classic Hendrix and AC/DC tone with no help from a stompbox at all...the Superlead is quite a bit more aggresive than a Plexi. It absolutely nails 80's rock tones (Ratt, Dokken, etc.) It's a FANTASTIC pedal for an aggresive JCM800(ish) lead tone. It does NOT sound fuzzy in any way and cleans up nicely when you back the guitar volume down. If old school 80's shred is the tone your looking for , there is not a Boss pedal that's going to do it like this guy! For what I was looking for it is absolutely perfect but if you seek genuine "plexi" tone ala Hendrix, this is not the pedal I would recommend. I would have given the pedal 5 stars but I took one away because the description of the pedal is not accurate. In closing...to those of you giving this pedal one star and/or saying a DS-1 sounds better, shame on you. Perhaps you need more experience in tone chasing. This is a GREAT pedal and everyone should at least check one out. There is deffinitely a place for the Superlead Lovepedal.

1 Star review can't be!!

By Dr. J

from Naples, FL

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I already reviewed this but had to mention the 1 star review. I've had this pedal about 2 months now, it is awesome except when the batteries are low, it does eat em up, or if the wrong ac adapter is used. It will leave you with a 1 STAR sound under these conditions only. Has to be.

If you think this is "PLEXI" ..... you've never heard one.

By Kelly Gaulke

from McAllen TX

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Sounds more like a metal zone nasal bite. Nothing like AC/DC, nothing like Van Halen. Try a Radial Tone bone. This has got to be a "bluff". No depth. No warmth. No guitar volume control clean up. Just another barking harsh distortion. A Boss DS-1 can sound more like a Marshall than this!!!

The Perfect Pedal

By Kelly McDonald

from Central Valley, CA.

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I wanted to wait until I had ample time playing this pedal before I wrote a review. Okay, here goes: When I first bought it I was a bit afraid, this pedal weighs nothing. It's by far the lightest pedal in my arsenal. I plugged it in and MAN was I blown away with the thing. You can go from very slightly dirty to almost distortion. When you rock the mid switch, it turns your amp into a Marshall Half Stack. It's really amazing (not necessary for country mind you) but it sure is fun to play with. For that reason, don't be surprised if you start playing AC/DC when you get it. LOL

Lovepedal Superlead

By T. Graham

from Neshkoro, wis.

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

Well now, I bought this item on a whim, a Lovepedal for just over a hundred bucks, really? Yep, and then plugged it into a marshall superlead, a real one. A/B-sounded great. Worked well with emgs, and standard strat pickups. Plays well with other pedals too. Does what it's supposed to do. Want more, pay more-still a great value, and a real Lovepedal ya can't go wrong.

Buy this pedal so hard!!

By Andrew

from S.W. CT

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I bought this pedal as a second choice after a Boss DS-2 and I realized the second I tried it out that this should have been my first choice. I play rock from the 60's 70's and 90's and it fits all of them. It may seem a little expensive, but the price is worth it! It is easily the greatest pedal ever!

This is a great pedal!

By JONATHAN ATACK

from Reno, Nevada

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I just added this pedal to my board a couple of months ago and I am really pleased with it. It plays very well with the other pedals and I've found it can produce some really awesome tones from singing leads to warm overdrive to that almost clean cranked amp sound. I tested it against a Fulltone OCD, Mosfet 2 and their GT-500 which are all great pedals but I have to say I much preferred the tone of the Superlead. It's very close in tone to my old JCM I used to have and sounds great with my Les Paul, Strat and Tele - going through my 57 Deluxe. A great pdeal for the price. I'm very happy with this purchase - try it out.

Best Distortion Pedal Ever.

By Snake

from Pembroke Pines, FL

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I wanted an analogue distortion pedal to replace the ones and zeros coming from my digital pedal. This is the best sounding distortion I have heard in my life...ever. This pedal is a Marshall Full Stack in a box, that was the purpose of it's invention, to have that sound without the clunky stack. This type of distortion is specifically modeled after the Marshall Plexi amps which Jimi Hendrix, Angus Young and just about anyone who ever looked at a guitar has played through the classic Marshall that started rock revolutions. The pedal is extremely rich and versatile, it responds to your picking, gets rough when you pick hard and smooth when you pick softer. If this pedal doesn't sound good with your amp and guitar, then one of those or both are bad. This pedal makes a single coil sound like a humbucker and not in a bad way, and it makes humbuckers sound even better. The Superlead is very versatile, ear piercing leads and stadium thunder to spongy fuzz or soft bluesy overdrive. This distortion pedal is the be all end all to all distortion pedals in this universe, Oh I almost forgot it has a fricken mid boost switch too for tighter compressed sound or more open acoustic sound. More versatility for you to drown in, in a good way. This is the sound of your favorite rock stars from blues to death metal. If you can't get that happenin' modern or classic tone with this then practice more or put your guitar down and walk away forever. Yes, it's that good.

Sweet Brit crunch

By Tom

from Flagler Fl

Comments about Lovepedal Superlead Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal:

I have been messing with this pedal for about a week and it's a keeper! Works great with my rig, I normally use a Blues jr for clean and A/B a Orange tiny terror for driven tones. This pedal sounds great in front of the blues jr and will allow me to carry one amp to a gig. Un like many dirt boxes this one really sounds good anyway you dial it. It has no harsh overtones , just a real nice crunch. In front of a fender amp it gets a nice Vox or plexi tone. I put it in front of my tiny terror and it sounds amazing. I own a pile of pedals and this one is the one that make the cut for my rhythm tone I boost it with a OCD overdrive for leads they stack real nice, my maxon 820 sounds great with it too. Great tone great price.
