I own two of these, one 10' and one 18.5', and use them both constantly. They have held up for about 2 1/2 years, and still work great. Little to no noise, tough construction, and the endcaps, while somewhat loose on occasion, have not fallen apart. I used some vise-grip pliers and tightened both ends pretty well, and they haven't come undone since. Great cables for the price.

I bought these cables on three separate occasions. They sound fine, but as of right now I am sitting next to FOUR BROKEN LIVE WIRE guitar cables, each which broke on account of the manufacturer. After the first few broke I assumed they were defective, but as of yet every single live wire cable I have bought (to date) is broken. This seems really suspicious to me as they have a lifetime guarantee, but the fact of the matter is: next time, spend the extra money, get a better cable. It's worth your time.

Great cables!

By Jon

from Bryn Mawr, PA

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

Great product! I actually had to replace one... Because I left it at a gig! I knew I wanted exactly the same cable. Durable. Won't break down on you. Doesn't tangle and does all the things cables should do. And well too! I seriously recommend this product.

Livewire Cables

By mlogans91

from Orinda, CA

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I love these cables, they are the only ones I use in my setup because first of all, they have great sound quality, second, they are extrmely well priced, and third, they're guaraunteed for life. I once tried upgrading all my cables to monster cables and I heard a minor sound quality difference, definitly not worth the $60 I paid to upgrade, so I returned them. If you don't care about every single little bit of sound quality, go with these cables.

A Good, Solid Cable

By yump

from Oakdale, MN

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

A few months ago I purchased the 10' version of this cable. I have since been very pleased. It is very durable and tough. The sound quality is good. The cable even looks nice, too. The only problem I have is that the grip piece keeps coming unscrewed. It's not a big deal though, and it can be fixed in a matter of seconds. This a nice, quality, afforable cable, and unless you want a super-nice cable, look no further.

Good Practice Cable

By Rocker

from San Diego, CA

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

This cable is good for bedroom practicing only. I bought one for studio and gig use and after 6 monthes, it started cutting out sound frequencies. Before that started happening, I was very happy with this cable. It had a very clear sound frequency untill then. It's very durable and can take a beating.

Buy the correct length

By Steve

from Cincinnati, OH

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I purchased quite a few of these online, both 1' and 3' for connecting all my rack gear. I needed a bunch of cables that were 1' long plus some a little longer. When I got the cables they were measured from tip to tip and not the actual cable length. They were just a little short for what I needed but I can only blame myself for not knowing much about how cables are measured. These cable were priced great and are made well. Some people complain about the tips coming unscrewed but that doesn't bother me because I leave them plugged in. Though these were short they will still make great patch cables!

not worthy of 1 star

By DanTheMan

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

Keeping it short. Got a 10 ft. It would cut out every once in a while then one day it just stoped working. Look for a more durable cable.

it breaks?

By hmmmm

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

I have 2 cables from this company (10ft and 18.6) but I've owned 4. and one of the ones i have now is starting to go. the 1st set i had broke within a few months of when i got it. i don't miss treat my cables either, when not in use wrap them up and hang them on my wall. I don't walk on them. but they still broke. its always the part that breaks is inside the metal part connecing the cable to the 1/4' output/input i still like it becasue the lift time gaurentee so i got all them replaced.. when they work, its great. overall id say 3.5-4 stars

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

This is the type of cable I prefer it is high quality and has the type of plugs easy to unscrew in order to cut and re-solder so it can be made like new over and over and over again when the connections wear out and break or short so can last many years.

Don't buy cheap!

By Mogambu

from SF Bay Area

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

Bought a set of these cables - a 10' and a 15'. The 15' was dead right out of the package. Wouldn't be such a big deal but the nearest store is 35 miles away - the warranty is okay but I'd rather not have to go back to the store in the first place. Spend the extra money and buy the Monster cables.

Good Warranty but not good quality, the way the cable was made does not make it last long.I used to have one and it lasted for like two months. I switched to Monster and it is Great. Same warranty better features and quality.MONSTER cables!!!!

By PunkRotten

from Sylmar, CA

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

This is a pretty good cable. Its cheap and convenient for playing in your bedroom etc. Its worth what you pay for it, I am glad I bought it. Seems pretty well made too, just as long as you arent extremely rough with it.

Less tone sucking than Monster and just as reliable. I have tested these cables against George L's, Fender, Livewire advantage, Mogami and Monster. By far the best value.

eh.....

By rock addict

from Warwick, RI

Comments about Livewire Advantage Series 1/4" Straight Instrument Cable:

These cables are okay. I have a 5 foot cable and the quality didnt empress me. It doesnt have very good sound to it and the end pieces constantly have to be tightened. Also I had to resoder the end on mine becuase it was really scratchy when moved. If you have the extra cash I would spring for a monster cable.
