I recently bought a new Takamine acoustic-electric. As with all acoustic-electrics that I have played, its jack only accepts mono - not stereo. So when I plugged in an adapter from a 1/4" instrument cable to a 3.5mm stereo jack (to plug into my of my cd player/radio), the sound would not come through. I figured the stereo adapter was the problem - and this is the solution. For anyone with the same problem I had, this here is the Holy Grail for acoustic-electric players.

I ordered this cable to plug my mp3 player into the P.A., for break-music at gigs. I wanted something sturdier than the cable I was using -- THIS IS NOT IT. Its too delicate & unsupported at each end to survive the repeated packing/unpacking required for 5 -8 gigs per week. . . .It works fine, good sound quality, just not a "work-horse" cable.

Comments about Livewire 3.5mm TRS-1/4"(M) Patch Cable:

I have used the patch cable while practicing and in one concert and it has worked extremely well for the short time that I have had it. I use it with a Gemini PA system, a Nady Audio Mini-Mixer, a Bose Soundlink Color Speaker, a JVC portable CD Player and a Shure Microphone. Everything in the sound system is battery powered. The patch cable interfaces well and the sound quality is great.

      Thin, but good

      About Me Experienced

Comments about Livewire 3.5mm TRS-1/4"(M) Patch Cable:

A very thin cable, which worried me because that often indicates not enough shielding or bad wires. But the sound is just fine, and it comes with a lifetime warranty, so a pretty good product for the money.

Comments about Livewire 3.5mm TRS-1/4"(M) Patch Cable:

I use this cable to record my live shows. I run the 1/4 mono end out of my Bose T1 mixer and the stereo 1/8 end into my digital recorder. Since the output on the Bose T1 is mono and the input on the recorder is stereo, this cable does the trick. Also works for running my iPhone into the Bose L1 analog input. All you need is make sure you are buying the right cable.

3.5 mm TRS 1/4" Patch Cable

          By Floyd Stough

          from Undisclosed

Comments about Livewire 3.5mm TRS-1/4"(M) Patch Cable:

I originally purchased this cable to use for the NADY 401X belt pack to guitar cable and discovered that if is wired with tip and ring tied together and a mono plug on the 1/4 end. While it is great for plugging your IPod or CD player into a guitar amp, it won't work for plugging a guitar up to a NADY Belt pack, the Ring connection touches the ground and shorts the signal out at the belt pack end.
Too bad the write-up didn't tell me that and save me the time ordering the wrong part.
It could be improved for my application by making it stereo to stereo or mono to mono; but, for what it was designed to do it is adequate and acceptable. The description needs to tell that it is stereo 3.5mm to mono 1/4.
Good cable, good connectors. It is well worth the price.
