This is a dangerous pedal. It might even kill a few people if you use it live. This extreme pedal has saturated tone, but doesn't fuzz or muddy up. The harmonics and sustain are awesome, and the controls can give you some versatility in your sound. The thing is built like an armored car. I love the way Line6 designed the battery access panel -you simple push a couple of buttons and open the pedal. The only thing that sucks about this pedal, and thus the nearly perfect rating, is that a nine-volt battery dies quickly - I mean quickly. You must get the adapter.

so i got this from my friend (who also didnt like it) and i tried it out a lot. i never really found a good tone. i even have a line 6 amp. i dont know if it would sound better through a tube amp but i dont have one. the sound isnt strong enough. its always too high, too low, too thin, too thick. i dont know if im not doing the right combos to get the sound or if its a defective pedal but ive never had this trouble with any decent pedal before. so all i use it for is a chord connection to get me further away from my amp on stage. however, one thing i REALLY like about it is that it has a built in noise gate. it can be turned off, set to 1 and 2. if the second set doesnt cancel the noise you need an actual noise gate. long story short, i would save throw in an extra 40 bucks and go get a digitech distortion. sorry to disappoint.

Melting Faces

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

What ever your style, don't pass this up! I adore this pedal. The Uber Metal is by far my favorite distortion I have owned. I play lots of shows with my band and it holds its own. I used to own the FabTone by Danelectro but replaced it with this one. This pedal gives you so much control with the scoops, style settings, and even the gate selectionsI recently played on an old Crate Voodoo tube head that had little bass and middle on the clean. This pedal holds up to most tube amp distorted channels and with the noise gates built in(this will save you the trouble of buying a seperate pedal), crank it to 11 and fear nothing!

I just bought this ...

By mihiruthere93

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I just bought this monster today, and after wasting a couple hours of my time trying to find the right tone, I decided this was the best distortion pedal I've ever used. It has ALOT of different sounds for every kind of rock, and it's the only pedal you could buy and not worry about it stop working. You could strap this thing to a firework and it would still be fine! The only things I didn't like is that it literally drained my 9V battery in around 2 hrs, and it cost more than $100 (with tax). So if you get this pedal, make sure you get the power adapter. And don't worry about neighbors yelling at you. The noise gate is probably the greatest part of the entire thing!

Holy jumping jesus.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

This thing can SCREAM. I had no idea how much this thing was going to alter my playing style. I find myself all over the fretboard because it sounds so good, and on my Line 6 Flextone III amp, the combinations are literally endless. You can get a bone-jarring rhythm setting, to a fuzzy, harmonically responsive tube sound, to a screaming lead in just a few knob turns and switch flicks. If you are looking for a solid distortion pedal and don't want to shell out 300 bucks for a boutique handmade pedal, this is for you.

Uber metal best metal distortion pedal ever!

By Steve

from Bklyn, NY

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

This Uber Metal is the best metal distortion pedal of all time. Very toneful and has tons of gain and even a noise gate! I like to run it in front of my old randall rg 80 and it really makes the amp scream. The noise gate gets rid of all noise from this pedal and the three settings are all good. It has a good mid control too and that's important because without a mid control on your dist. pedal then you don't have a lot of control over your sound. I use this in front of my Pod XT too if I really want the gain to go way over the top and have notes just fly off of the neck.

Great Metal Pedal

By GY

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

In short this pedal saved me thousands of dollars, in amp exspense. It has the tone from Black Sabbath, Metallica, Tool etc, etc. You just need to play with it a bit. Set your amps to a neutral setting including your pre amp. Turn of any Noise Gates you may have aside from the one on the pedal. The pedal is very user friendly I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a Chunky Metal Tone.

HOLY AWESOME MOTHER OFCHOCOLATE UNICORN JELLYBEANS CHRIST!!

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

this thing rocks. literally. I got it a few years ago as my first pedal. It can do ANYTHING. I still have my boss distortion, just so i can have 2 set, but this is just draw-dropping amazing. My me-20 and my boss distortion just dont do what this will. Overdrive, solo, slayinganarmyofmythicalcreaturesbymeltingtheirfaces, bringing down the walls of jericho, blues, you name it, and this will do it. i like it because you can tweak any distortion tone you want out of it. it sounds like you turned meat into sound. just epic. with the sound gates, its dead silent, like *cricket cricket* silent.the insane setting is my favorite, because its beefy, but the metal is good for more vintage-y style crunch, and the pulverize is nice and heavy. its practically indestructable, too. its so good, ive used it at church. just buy it. if you havent, just go right now and buy it.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I want to marry this pedal. this pedal is my new favorite! I have owned it around 3 weeks now and wanted others to know how great it is. I own a boss "metal core" distorion pedal and used it for around a year before getting this one. I do seem to prefer "Uber Metal" even though it was cheeper. i recomend it.

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

This is the best distortion pedal ever created!I thought my Peavey 6505 couldn't get any heavier without getting over driven but I was proved wrong for years I didn't use distortion pedals cause the create feedback and I didn't like the sound any had. This thing is different it turned my amp into a gain monster!I tried out other pedals like the metal master, and all sorts of boss distortion pedals but didn't like any of them but I love this. This thing has as much gain as the metal master, metal core and the tube screamer combined!I love all the settings it has,I really like to put on insane and turn all the knobs up to ten!The pedal is absolutly amazing and I will never stop using it.I hope you guys out there who buy this love it as much as I do.Keep the metal faith alive!

Pure Metal!!

By Wikidmax

from Florida

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I love this pedal! This is certainly one a metalhead can't live without. Includes 3 distortion types to suit your style, all with different tonal characteristics. Also has a wonderful mid section with a "wide" frequency range to shape your tone as you please (great knob to scoop mid's). The distortion can get as insane as you want, and you can tame feedback with the built in noise gate. It loves solid state amps! I use mine through a Spider 112 for practice and recording, and through a Crate 100w head at shows. Whatever style of metal you play, this pedal has the ability to dail in the tone you are looking for! Thanx Line 6!

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I tried this out with a Gibson SG Special. You can sound just like many well-known metal bands with all te sounds from this pedal. It is also practically indestructible, but it is a little pricy.

The Best All-Around Distortion!

By Matt

from WI

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I bought this thing about a year ago...it's still my most beloved and most often used piece of equipment. This is the most versatile distortion pedal I have ever used! The gain can be adjusted for any type of rock....not just metal. The mid control is awesome...REALLY works well. The noise gate is also waaaay better than you'd think. Adding all these features together, you can easily achieve a great modern metal sound thats clamps fast and sounds tight. I use this with a Line 6 Spider III and an EMG equipped Les Paul. This is the gear I started with and after all the other gear I've bought since then, I keep going back to this setup. Line 6 knows what they're doing and this pedal proves it! If you are looking for the perfect distortion, stop here and add this one to your cart.

METAL INDEED

By Frequency09

from Chandler, AZ

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

Whether your running a guitar or a classic 909 drum machine through this pedal. What goes in comes out. Meaning you don't lose your low's, high's, and everything in between. I've ran into that problem with other pedals in this range. Not to mention others in this range had too much noise. A very solid pedal like others have already said. Built like a tank indeed. Can't think of anything I don't like about this pedal. Had the 9V issue with this like others did. But my new pedalboard took care of that problem. It replaces all other pedals in this category and range.

definitely worth it

By justin

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

this pedal is absolutely amazing, it just gives you so much tone and so much bite, i tried the Boss Metal-Core pedal and it wasn't even half as good as this one, the Insane tone gives you so much sustain, you can just stand there for about 3 hours before the sound fades away, and the noise gate is very helpful, as i tend to get a lot of buzz from my amps no matter how big or how loud i play, so very useful, and it's pretty straight forward to use, the mid is super cool cuz even the slightest turn of the knob will completely change the tone and the gain is just over the top, but you can still hear each note clearly, love this pedal, best purchase i've ever made basically

This is a Weapon

By RedHead

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

This Pedal is absolutely amazing. First of all, its built like a tank..... it is very heavy. the distortion that comes out of this thing is indescribable. it has 3 distortion 'classes', Metal, Pulverize, and Insane. All three of these are very high quality and sound great. the noise gate a blessing, it keeps riffs perfectly quiet and cuts out unwanted noise. you also have 3-band EQ with scoop control on the mids. This is amamzing...... if there was a 6-star option, this would get it. i also recommend the Echo Park from Line6

Brutal.

By abel1389

from Little Rock, Arkansas

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

First off, in response to it's indestructible reputation, I have personally broken two of these, but since I have yet to figure out what went wrong on either one, I'm going to assume it was me because I'm fairly harsh on about everything I own. On the first major point, the Uber is HEAVY. Very, very heavy. On a stock guitar, this thing wails like very few distortions can do, with little to no effort. It's got the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. Those low crunchy palm mutes with this sound bone-crushing on any guitar. If you're playing with aftermarket pickups, it really pulls out the low for you, and will sound amazing. It has ungodly body, and amazing clarity, as well, which is a little rare. The noise gates are effective, and will keep the typical hiss of high gain distortions dead. Not "slightly hushed"; DEAD as dead can be. Unless you've butchered your settings, it's quiet as the grave. Finally, it's versatile. Whether you're looking for a crunchy punk sound, or that brutal death metal drive, it can cover it. Here's where the pedal will suprise you, though. Between the scoop variation and the three different distortion models (Metal, Pulverize, & Insane), it can pull off blues and other softer styles just as easily. It can pull off to a faint soloing drive and hold that same clarity perfectly. Like I said: versatile. I'd easily recommend this pedal to anyone. Despite it's body reputation, be careful nonetheless, because it's a real shame when you lose this pedal; it's really not something you can just grab an alternative for. i've never heard it through a solid state amp before, but on tubes (look to the Boogie, especially) it will come through beautifully. A note on going into a system: when using the Uber Metal, the tone does NOT carry well to a board using direct input; always try to use an instrument mic.

Awesome distortion pedal!

By JeffyK

from York, PA

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

The range of distortion that you can obtain with this pedal is amazing. Everything from a little crunch to a huge death metal sound and everything in between. The scoop and mids knobs really help shape your tone to what you want. The fact that you don't have to buy another pedal or spend another $100 on a noise gate is awesome. I finally got the tone of my dreams thanks to this pedal!

WOW

By Kirk Downer

from Pullman, Washington

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

This is the most amazing distortion pedal i have ever used in my life. You get so many options and variation of sound. It can play a slight crunch or a sick growl from this. With the 3 modes (metal pulv and ins) they all have their own unique taste and i use them all. I love using the metal for Nirvana because it's got the perfect sound for it and pulverize for heavy riffs of Metallica or anything that uses some heavy power chords. Last but not least is my favorite,Insane, i flick it to this mode during the solo and then the audience's faces begin to melt. Also with the 3 noise gate settings you can have no filter, medium, or completely get rid of the feedback so you can have very articulate riffs. BUY THIS NOW!

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I've had this for around 6 months. I thought I had it set where I was getting a good sound, but then I touched the controls and got even better sound. Alot of options to take care of in setting it up. The module is kind of cheap. The stompbox is a brick. I think it might just flatten my Boss pedals if dropped on one. So cheap module aside, it is in a nice cacoon.
