Line 6's Spider Valve 212 combo is the result of a groundbreaking collaborative effort between living-legend amp designer Reinhold Bogner and renowned amp-modeling upstarts Line 6. The Spider Valve MkII 212 40W combo amp offers the best of both worlds: brawny, boutique-style tube tone, and the latest, most advanced Line 6 amp modeling with complete flexibility and deep editing.

Spider Valve MkII 212 offers more amplifier models, effects and sophisticated features than its predecessor, the original Spider Valve 212 combo, but its all-tube design and boutique-style integrity keep it firmly rooted in the Spider Valve amp family.

Acclaimed amp tones
Spider Valve MkII 212 has the tools and tones you need to build your sound from the ground up. It features 16 of the most advanced Line 6 amp models, which were inspired by the most revered American, British and European heads and combos. Each one was custom-tuned for Line 6 Spider Valve MkII amps.

Get in front of sparkling clean tones inspired by a Hiwatt Custom 100, syrupy smooth drive tones inspired by a mix of a '65 Marshall JTM-45, a '58 Fender Bassman and a '63 Fender Vibroverb, British pop/rock tones inspired by a Vox AC-30 Top Boost, high-gain onslaughts inspired by a Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier and a Diezel Herbert, Class A crunch inspired by a Divided by 13 9/15, classic Class A breakup inspired by an Orange AD-30, and more! Store tones from every gig with the Line 6 Spider Valve's 128 user-programmable presets.

Need to shape your tone? Tweak the Bass, Mid and Treble knobs just like you would on original vintage amps. When you choose an amp model, the EQ section behaves just like the EQ section of the modeled amplifier. Spider Valve MkII 212 amplifier gives you a complete, organic and fully authentic representation of its 16 vintage and modern amplifiers.

An instant collection of essential FX
Start smart and dive deep with the unprecedented control of Line 6 Smart FX. It features 20 brilliant effects, delivering unprecedented color, adjustability and routing options. You can tweak up to 6 parameters of any effect”including the intelligent Smart Harmony and Pitch Glide, and easy-to-use 14-second Quick Loop”and route it pre or post for an extraordinary collection of tone-shaping tools. Plus, you get every guitarist's required palette of colors including beautiful Delays, tangy Mods, lush Reverbs and more. Up to 4 effects can be used simultaneously.

Fully editable, deeply sophisticated
Line 6 Spider Valve MkII 212 is poised to become a workhorse amp for all kinds of pro players. Its seamless integration into MIDI rigs allows for quick changes to all front-panel controls, easy synching of your time-based effects (to themselves and to your drummer's click-track), as well as other time- and energy-saving features.

Plus, two output modes deliver easy and effective solutions for direct-recording and gigging. Performance Mode lets you send a signal, which provides tube and modeling interaction, via the XLR out to the front-of-house engineer. Studio Mode bypasses the tubes to send the platinum-album Line 6 modeling only.

Brawny tube tone
Many so-called tube amps employ low-voltage "marketing" tubes to add authenticity to their "tube amp" claim. Spider Valve MkII 212 boasts bona fide Bogner-designed preamp and power amp sections that run at lethal voltages (about 300 volts and 450 volts, respectively) to produce exceptional depth, tonal coloration and richness.

The signal from the Line 6 front-end flows into the pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes to produce creamy, cascading distortions and enriched tube harmonics. The perfectly matched pair of 6L6 power tubes then drives the two Celestion Vintage 30 speakers to provide unprecedented sonic impact.

Exceptional feel
After being poured from the pair of 12-inch Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, your tone soaks up the spanky thump of the tuned three-quarter closed-back cabinet. The result is a tight low-end punch for a truly exceptional feel.

Hands-free control and more
Optional Line 6 FBV foot controllers deliver out-of-the-box volume/wah, pitch control, preset control and more. FBV Shortboard MkII pairs perfectly with Spider Valve MkII 212 to offer complete, hands-free control of the on-board Spider Valve MkII effects including Quick Loop, Smart Harmony and more. The bright and backlit oversized LCD makes it easy to see preset names and the chromatic tuner.

not so good :(

By Jonathan Kahanovitch

from new york

Hey I tried a couple at gc, and don't know what all the fuss is about. Nice idea for versatility, but I went through all controls and didn't find a good tone coming through. I'd suggest stick to a real fender/marshall tube amp and get pedals, or maybe a line 6 board through a fender if you insist on line 6, but haven't tried the line 6 multi yet. I hope this company improves this product so it lives up to the good reviews. I do admit that gc has to learn how to bias the amps, and perhaps with some tweaking it could shine.

Great Amp!

By Michael Allen

from Oakland, Ca.

I've always been a fan of Line 6 equipment since I bought my Pod back in'99. At the time I bought this amp, I had already bought a Spider Jam amp and a FBV Shortboard to control it. The FBV Footswitch also works great with the Spider Valve. The amp has tons of features (most of which I may never use, but it's nice to have them anyway), and is very user freindly to program. Any guitar sound I've ever wanted is in here! Now I never have to comprimise on my tone!

If you dream it you can make it

By Nathan Norman

from San Clemente, Ca

I am extremely satisfied with this powerhouse. I was looking for a nice half stack only to find that this thing is fully capable of hanging with just about any gig. Don't let the 40 watts fool you. Tube watts are different. Any sound i think of can be created effortlessly. This amp is so user friendly. I highly recommend the mkii short board. Its all you're gonna need to get every sound at your feet. Or you can spend hundreds more on analogue pedals, spend extra time to set that up and get mediocre results.

get the update and fx infusion pack

By jon j

from charlotte, nc

i bought this amp used, technically i bought the mark I used and they sent this instead for taking too long. i was pleasantly surprised. the one i received already had the most recent update and the FX infusion pack. with this pack i found several overdrive pedals that i have been drooling over. I'm not usually a tube amp guy as i play really heavy music and have a hard time getting the gain i need from tubes or tubes plus pedals. but this amp did the trick. i use the amber insane channel with the drive at about noon and the screamer pedal with all of its internal controls at noon as well. the most gain you can possibly get out of an amp by itself, it will give you so much gain that you get unpleasant sounds so that's how i knew it was for me. the first amp i ever played that actually goes passed where i want it to sound. if you don't get the update or FX infusion pack, you still get a superb abd excellent sounding amp, but with them i think you'll find this might be the last time you buy an amp in hopes to find the sound you're looking for. i used to own a vetta and I'm far more satisfied with this amp for all styles of music. no matter what you play the effects, models, and possible settings inside this thing will make it possible.

No more upgrades now!

By Matthew B.

from Long Prairie, Minnesota

This is an amp you'll wanna get and you will never replace it! This thing sounds like professional amplifiers and the tubes are great! The tone is amazing and its very easy to use! If you get this you can spend money later on into getting Cabs for it so you can make a full stack or half stack! Heres an amp that can be used for a long time, and you will never have to get a new one! No problems at all, try this out! The tubes are built strong and you can travel with it just fine.

Frickin' Awesome.

By Dan

from Tacoma, WA

I love this amp. I had a Mesa Boogie Duel Rectifier half-stack, and it was a great amp, but I'm moving to a smaller house, and didn't want to deal with the burden. I sold the head and bought one of these. Am I allowed to say that I actually like it a little bit better than the Mesa? The versatility is incredible, and it is ridiculously simple to get a great sound out of it. I could fiddle with the thing for hours. Line 6 has finally got it down.. and Reinhold Bogner is a golden god, because the power stage in this amp is juicier than a ribeye steak.

I played on this today on two different guitars, a Schecter Hellraiser C-7 with EMG 707 B&N, and a Schecter Tempest with Seymour Duncan JB & 59. This amp is the bomb, ALL the Bogner tone, with Line 6 simplicity and flexibility. For only being 40W, the two Celestion 30s out did the 75W Marshall behind me trying to drown me out! The cleans on this amp were very clear, and could pull a bluesy sound, and the Gain channels were phenomenal, PLUS if that amount of gain IS NOT ENOUGH there is a GAIN Effect you can use. The user presets were decent, but of course there will ALWAYS be something you dont like about someone elses tone. In general, this is a Tone beast, powerfull for a 40W, and looks pretty good to! However if you want more power I reccommend the AMp Head version. 100W amp head. Oh and one last thing....IT HAS TUBES AS POWER!! So dont expect a Solid State, its a hybrid.

For the money

By David Newman

from Bedford,Tx

My son bought his 1rst Line6 Spider III 2x10 with his own $$ when he was 16 & of course the Bogner model came out a year later. He fell in love with it & went to GC every chance he got to jam on one.I personal play through a Sewell Wampus Cat when I play out,but I bought one of these for him on his 18th Bday.I did have to put it through the test & this thing is pretty amazing. The power this thing has is sick & will rattle your teeth on 3.It has a very pro tone & enough juice for any venue. Being old school, this thing has way too many settings & options for me,but if I ever run across a 1x12 used at a good price,I will own it. I already picked up a Spider II 1x12 & use it around the house.Perfect practice amp & the built in tuner is handy. For the money you can't go wrong with this amp,no matter what style of music you play or level you play at.Whether you want a clean Tele or that Dime-bag crunch, this amp can deliver.
