Dialed in by rock stars
Who do you want to sound like today? Discover the tones of your heroes in Line 6 Spider IV HD150. 50 famous guitarists and bands, including Coheed & Cambria, Johnny Marr, Slipknot, and others, hand-crafted more than 300 of their signature tones and turned them into Line 6 Spider IV amp head presets-from sparkling cleans to effect-laden tones to saturated high-gain heaven.

Dialed in by Line 6
This Line 6 Spider IV amp head gives you one-touch access to almost 200 tones based on the best guitar songs of all time-from the switchblade-swinging slapback of the 1950s to the high-gain distortion of the 2000s. Get the tones from Master of Puppets, Back in Black, Whole Lotta Love, Daytripper, Toxicity, Purple Haze, Head Like a Hole, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Crazy Train, and more.

Edit, store and share, all via computer
Line 6 Spider IV Edit software (a free download from Line6.com) is an editor/librarian for your Spider IV HD150 tones. Bask in the glow of your computer while you edit presets, create backups, and even email tones to other Spider IV players.

Smart FX
Smart FX knobs put award-winning Line 6 effects at your fingertips. Easy to use, Smart FX let you spend less time tweaking and more time playing. Quickly add or remove any amount of the 20 lush reverbs, exceptional echoes, tangy mods, and more. Make all your adjustments on the fly-all the knobs are on the Line 6 amp head's front panel. Up to 4 Smart FX can be used simultaneously.

Go deeper into FX

Deep dive into your effects like never before with this Line 6 Spider amp head! Every effect is fully adjustable up to 7 parameters deep, including pre- and post-amplifier routing. Sculpt your delays, mods, reverbs, pitch effects, and more with unparalleled control.

Spider FX Infusion
What's better than more effects? More effects for free! Spider FX Infusion (a free download from Line6.com) more than doubles your amount of Smart FX. Beef up your Spider IV HD150 with 28 additional overdrives, compressors, delays, reverbs, mods, and wahs. You'll have more effects than any other modeling amplifier!

Pitch effects (Smart Harmony and Pitch Glide)
Smart Harmony is Line 6's first intelligent pitch shifter. It's fast-tracking and easy to use. Harmonize using major, minor, pentatonic, whole tone, and other types of scales. (Don't worry, you don't need to know music theory to use Smart Harmony).

Pitch Glide is most effective when used with an FBV MkII foot controller. Use the foot pedal to smoothly shift your tone up or down to any interval within a four-octave range. The effect can be calibrated to semitones, or to 10-cent increments to create cool chorus/detuning effects.

Quick loop

Quick Loop is a 14-second sound-on-sound looper that's ideal for writing songs, practicing solos, jamming, and even dialing in your tone. Easy to use, Quick Loop's controls are all on the front panel. Connect an FBV MkII foot controller for hands-free control of the looper functions.

Simultaneous FX
Use up to 8 effects at the same time! Pour on the colors and textures with all 4 Smart FX, set the adjustable Boost and the Noise Gate, activate Quick Loop, and connect an FBV MkII foot controller to kick on the volume/wah pedal. How many other amplifiers can do that?

Manual mode
Manual mode draws a more traditional amplifier experience out of Spider IV HD150. When Manual mode is activated, all front-panel knobs work independently of one another. (Out of Manual mode, choosing an amp model may adjust the settings of the other front-panel knobs.)

Tune up
You'll always sound your best with the built-in tuner. No need for an external tuner or additional guitar cables, this invaluable tool is integrated into the amp's front panel. Activate the tuner with the push of a button.

Window to the soul
A large, two-line LCD is your window into Spider IV HD150. This is where you can deep dive into effects and adjust their parameters, scroll over 500 presets, see the tuner interface, name your user-created presets, get a visual representation of where your Smart FX knobs are set, and more.

Downloads and upgrades
Keep your Spider IV HD150 up to date with an FBV MkII foot controller. Connect the Spider IV HD150 to Line6.com via an FBV MkII foot controller to receiver valuable software and firmware updates and upgrades. These updates may include new features, presets, or effects.

Foot controllers
FBV Express MkII delivers hands-free channel switching; FBV Shortboard MkII is a full-on remote control. They both feature a full-sized volume/wah pedal, chromatic tuner display, bright LEDs, durable footswitches and chassis, and more. They keep you at the foot of the stage instead of tied to the front of your Spider IV 75. They also feature USB connectivity for keeping your Spider IV 75 up to date. (Foot controllers not included.)

Just a few quick notes on this amp. 1) I can't turn it up beyond 5 or 6 without pain/ discomfort. This thing LOUD! 2) There's a tone surprise waiting around every corner. Just when you think you've heard everything it offers, it surprises you again. 3) This is without a doubt the best value on the market today. For the price, the features+tone+volume+etc...=perfect for anyone. Only downside? Want to use MIDI? You're out of luck. The FVB is a mandatory purchase if you want to switch your sounds with your feet. It uses an RJ45 Ethernet cable and not the industry standard 5-pin. So, I guess I'll HAVE TO buy one.

The tone of this amp is okay. Not terrible but certainly not great. That being said, the effects are nice and I do like the preset feature. However, a few months ago at practice it started making this really loud squealing noise underneath everything I played. A few days after that I took it to the store I purchased it from and it was working fine and continued to do so until the other day. I looked it up and found out that I'm not the only one that this has happened to so I'm selling mine for an Acoustic G120H.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV HD150 150W Guitar Amp Head:

Well I picked up this amp head to use as a back-up for my Line 6 Spider Valve MKII HD100 Bogner amp head and I have to say I like it just as much. Nice thing about solid-state amps, you don't have to worry about tubes going out form moving them around frequently. The effects are really great and I use the Line 6 FBV foot controller which is a must have if you own one of these amps. You've got full access to all the effects. volume control, tuner and wah right at your feet. I recommend this amp head : )

So far so good.the presets are a little to difficult or to numerous for a novice but for someone that has use these line6 heads before I`m sure enjoys their versatility. the amp is very powerful and has lots of punch. the manual mode lets you limit the presets and just jam, which is why i purchase mine, and so far so good.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV HD150 150W Guitar Amp Head:

I have the spider 3 back in highschool, and in 2012 when we got a band together I leaned toward line 6 not knowing anything else. This amp has some great sounds but seems very directional. I've used it in probably close to 75 shows and I've never not been able to achieve the sound I was looking for. The only downside is the volume. For heavens sake, I ain't no sissy but holy moly this thing is so loud. Its kind of frustrating during a song to barely touch the knob and have the volume shoot up double what it was. I honestly would get a lower wattage amp if I were to do it again but alas, this one hasnt died yet. Overall, good amp just be careful of that volume know.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV HD150 150W Guitar Amp Head:

Very Versatile amp with good presets (Still need to be tweeked of course)Sounds better and very smooth well processed leads than rhythm but with the right cabinets you can survive pretty well. You won't find a better modeling amp head for the money or just plain solid state head either.

I like the amp overall, I like the fact that you can hook it to your computer and set you own effects. I just wish it had more of the pedal effects on it that what I have found so far. I have not had it long so I am sure they are in there I just have not found them yet. The footswitch that is available for that amp I am not to crazy about so far but like I said it has a number of features that I have not gotten into yet ... You will not go wrong with this amp

            Best Amp Head Available

            By Daniel Clark

            from Ames, Iowa

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV HD150 150W Guitar Amp Head:

I've gone through quite a few amp heads in my life, including a few straight up amplifiers and processors separately. My favorite thing hands down about this amp head is not only the volume, but also that you don't need to spend an absolutely ridiculous amount of money on foot pedals and such to get the sound you want. All the pedals you want are basically built right in already. You can select a pre-programmed sound to sound exactly like your favorite musicians, or you can tweak all the settings around to get the most stellar sound you can find. Honestly, if you want something that's loud, looks sleek and sexy, and will prevent you from having to fork over hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for pedals while still giving you just as good of a sound, go for this product. There are accessories you can buy for this to jump between sounds too, which also helps.
