Smart FX
Smart FX knobs put award-winning Line 6 effects at your fingertips. Easy to use, Smart FX let you spend less time tweaking and more time playing. Quickly add or remove any amount of the 20 lush reverbs, exceptional echoes, tangy mods, and more. Make all your adjustments on the fly-all the knobs are on the front panel. Up to 4 Smart FX can be used simultaneously.

Go deeper into FX
This Line 6 amp lets you deep dive into your effects like never before! Every effect is fully adjustable up to 7 parameters deep, including pre- and post-amplifier routing. Sculpt your delays, mods, reverbs, pitch effects, and more with unparalleled control.

Spider FX Infusion
What's better than more effects? More effects for free! Spider FX Infusion (a free download from Line6.com) more than doubles your amount of Smart FX. Beef up your Line 6 Spider IV 75 with 28 additional overdrives, compressors, delays, reverbs, mods, and wahs. You'll have more effects than any other modeling amplifier.

Pitch effects (Smart Harmony and Pitch Glide)
Smart Harmony is Line 6's first intelligent pitch shifter. It's fast-tracking and easy to use. Harmonize using major, minor, pentatonic, whole tone, and other types of scales. (Don't worry, you don't need to know music theory to use Smart Harmony).

Pitch Glide is most effective when used with an optional FBV MkII footcontroller. Use the footpedal to smoothly shift your tone up or down to any interval within a 4-octave range. The effect can be calibrated to semitones, or to 10-cent increments to create cool chorus/detuning effects.

Quick loop
Quick Loop is a 14-second sound-on-sound looper that's ideal for writing songs, practicing solos, jamming, and even dialing in your tone. Easy to use, Quick Loop's controls are all on the front panel. Connect an FBV MkII footcontroller for handsfree control of the looper functions.

Simultaneous FX
Use up to 8 effects at the same time! Pour on the colors and textures with all 4 Smart FX, set the adjustable Boost and the Noise Gate, activate Quick Loop, and connect an FBV MkII footcontroller to kick on the volume/wah pedal. How many other amplifiers can do that?

Speak up
Celestion guitar speakers are world renowned for their exceptional definition, clarity, and feel. And that's just what they give to Line 6 Spider IV 75. The 1x12" Celestion custom speaker helps clean tones sparkle and sing, creamy overdrives respond to the intricacies of your picking, and searing brutal tones launch themselves from the cabinet.

Manual mode
Manual mode draws a more traditional amplifier experience out of Line 6 Spider IV 75 guitar amp. When Manual mode is activated, all front-panel knobs work independently of one another. (Out of Manual mode, choosing an amp model may adjust the settings of the other front-panel knobs.)

Stay focused
To get the whole story of Spider IV 75 amplifier, you need to turn one around. It features a perfectly tuned three-quarter closed-back speaker cabinet. This provides a tight, punchy, focused response that you can't get from an open-back guitar speaker cab.

Tune up
You'll always sound your best with the Line 6 guitar amp's built-in tuner. No need for an external tuner or additional guitar cables, this invaluable tool is integrated into the amp's front panel. Activate the tuner with the push of a button.

Window to the soul
A large, two-line LCD is your window into Line 6 Spider IV 75. This is where you can deep dive into effects and adjust their parameters, scroll over 500 presets, see the tuner interface, name your user-created presets, get a visual representation of where your Smart FX knobs are set, and more.

Downloads and upgrades
Keep your Line 6 Spider IV 75 guitar amp up to date with an FBV MkII footcontroller. Connect the Spider IV 75 to Line6.com via an FBV MkII footcontroller to receiver valuable software and firmware updates and upgrades. These updates may include new features, presets, or effects for your Line 6 amp.

Foot controllers
FBV Express MkII delivers hands-free channel switching; FBV Shortboard MkII is a full-on remote control. They both feature a full-sized volume/wah pedal, chromatic tuner display, bright LEDs, durable footswitches and chassis, and more. They keep you at the foot of the stage instead of tied to the front of your Spider IV 75. They also feature USB connectivity for keeping your Spider IV 75 up to date. (Footcontrollers sold separately.)

The Spider IV is a tone jugernaut. It includes 16 ampmodels (clean, twang, class A, blues, crunch, high gain, metal, and insane), 8 red and 8 green (heavier version). You can create most all tones with these models, but if your not feeling creative there are 250+ preset artist and song tones. The majority of the artists are unknown, but the tones that they dialed in themselves are rock solid. As for the song presets, the best guitar songs from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and this decade have there tones programmed in the amp, this list includes Johnny B. Goode, Day Tripper, Gimme Shelter, Another Brick, Crazy Train, Back In Black, Enter Sandman, American Idiot, and many more. Line 6 could have saved some time by cutting down on the # of song tones, because many of the presets sound the same, like Hey Joe and Wind cries mary. Despite this Microscopic flaw, the Line 6 Spider IV is a fine amp with alot of other features, such as quick loop and auto wah.

I know most people who are interested in this amp are beginners and people who don't have money to spend on a higher end amp, but you can do much better. I believe the people who have written good reviews on this amp must have gotten it as their first ever amp, and for this reason don't realize that it is horrible in comparison to other amps in the same category. Everything sounds, well, bad. The channels marked Clean, Twang, and Class A sound ok I guess. All of the other channels are basically unusable. The tones they create just aren't pleasing. The Metal and Insane channels sound good at low volumes, but as soon as you turn up your tone is gone, and there's no clarity whatsoever. On all of the channels, the sound is either too trebly or too bassy, no in between. The EQ doesnty help much with this. I keep mine on the red Class A channel, put the manual button on, and use it as a one channel amp, and it sounds pretty decent. Some of the effects are pretty cool. Some of the delays are nice, reverb is good, chorus is good. The rest of the effects either sound bad or are useless. The pitch effects are just horrible. If you need a modeling amp for your first amp or because you want all of your tones and effects in one package, you would be better off buying a Roland Cube or a Vox AV.

Amazingly Great

By Alex

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I just picked up one of these yesterday, and I cannot believe how great this thing is. The picture makes it look small, but it is HUGE! not only that is a great future, but so is the many, oh so many effets that come built in. You can pretty much have whatever tone you want from Sunshine of Your Love, to Master of Puppets, Killswitch Engage. I recommend to those who are kinda short on money, and one thing. It is VERY LOUD!!!

Shockingly Good

By Falcon Clone

from Fort Worth, TX

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have played guitar for 18 years, and haven't been impressed with digital effects and modeling until now. I decided to try this amp out at guitar center one day and was amazed at the wide tonal spectrum available. I think it's important to note I believe this amp sounds better than any multi-effects processor I have heard (old or modern) because from input to speaker everything is designed to go together which I believe maximizes the final tone of this unit no matter the model or preset. The presets based on songs from the 50's through modern day sound great, and offer a great starting point to create your own tone, or to practice those particular songs. Programming the unit is very easy as is adjusting the presets. This amp gets very loud, I haven't had it past about 1/3 and that was more than enough for me to worry about neighbors in adjacent houses being bothered. I gave it 4 out of 5 because there are a few bugs that bother me. One, certain presets sound almost the same no matter which pickup combination you use or where your guitar's volume or tone is set, but then some react the way you would expect from a regular amp. Also the built in noise gate is a good feature, but sometimes reduces your sustain. Compared to a tube amp (which I own several) this amp comes awfully close to the tone (especially the fender-esq tones), but is a little tighter and edgier sounding (which is more apparent with the more gain used) ۡ however it is still acceptable no matter what. Also the flange effect totally sucks, but that seems to be the only one. However, the ability to sound like a fender and switch to a marshall sound, then to a mesa boogie is almost invaluable and is excellent for practice and I wouldn't be afraid to record with this amp or play live. Also you can upload updates from line 6 onto the amp, so maybe the flange effect will get better. Overall I believe this amp influences my creativity because I can go from Rolling Stones to Metallica to Guns and Roses with the push of a footswitch button (programmed in the order I want). Check out line 6's website for the possible sounds then go try it out for yourself, you won't regret it.

great amp for great price

By Jay

from Massachusetts

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is very nice amp. The cleans are comparable to any high end solid state amp on the market and sounds great with no clipping at a much higher volume than most I tried at the price range. The clarity and output of the celestion 12" speaker is amazing and the partial closed rear of sub really pushes the sound. The included effects are very versatile and and an effects pedal with the same feature would cost hundreds. Using the line 6 website you can be introduced to hundreds of other user effects and settings, all waiting to be programed. If something happened to this amp I'd definitely buy another. There are some people who rate the amp low, but how can you compare the sound of a solid state to a tube. If you look for an amp in this price range you will not find better.

Great amp!

By Mark in Philadelphia

from Philadelphia, PA

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is great! I'm fairly new to electric guitar and picked this amp up for home use. It's a bit big and loud for a home amp, but this has more features than the 15W or 30W. I love it. Real easy to use - I haven't even touched the manual, yet. I mainly like the wide variety of amp sounds that are re-created for specific songs. My favorite are 'Sunshine of Your Love', 'Comfortably Numb', 'Blvd of Broken Dreams', and 'Hotel California'. It's helping me learn - I can pick one of those amp sounds and work on the song. Great amp, great price. Pick one up.

Tremendous Tones!

By Matthew

from Austin, TX

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have played many different styles of music over the years including rock, metal, country, and jazz. This little amp can do it all! I also own a Fender Twin Reverb and several effects. My problem was trying to get good tones while recording without having to crank it up. When the neighbors in the next condo began beating on the wall, I knew it was time to get a better suited amp. I spent several hours playing with all the different settings and tones, excited about all this little amp could do. While there is a learning curve, I would have to say that it was still far easier to find the tone I wanted on the Spider IV than with my other setup. Even after a few weeks, I still really haven't used all the features the amp has. In Summary - Pros: huge variety of quality tones, loud for its size (the 75 can keep up with a drum kit), fun to experiment with, great home studio recording amp, controls are well configured, solid optional footswitch (I got the FBV Express), well priced for its capabilities Cons: These are really very minor things. Changing the channels changes the volume. The lower end of the master knob is overly sensitive. The reverb on the amp is not as good as the other effects (keep in mind I have been playing on a Twin Reverb). All in all, for the price, the Spider IV is a terrific amp, and opens up all kinds of tones that I never would have been able to get before. Highly Recommended!!!

Line 6 does it again! I was looking for a decent practice amp and decided I would try the spider 4. The amp has it all. Tuner, Auto loop, and over 300 tones. The only thing that bothers me about this amp is you cannot save your recordings. great amp overall!

Digital Nightmare

By JoeStumpFan

from Spokane, WA

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Well, I was real excited when I bought the amp.. After a week, it was gone. Outside of the electrical problems it showed up with, the sound was just plain sterile. This is a metal amp, thats it. The cleans were pure mud and the effects were so-so and the reverb was awful. Pedals each have their own identity. This amp was just a hard drive with a speaker. Plus everytime you turned a knob to change amp models, it would give a loud popping noise and the volume would go through the roof. Digital amps are just not my thing. My best sounding amps were nice little fender solid states with pedals in front. Thats what Im going back to.. sorry.. if you like a traditional sound in your amp and effects.. do not buy this!!!!

Diversity is the name of the game...

By Drewster

from State College, PA

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I had Spider III 75... sold it for tube sound... I got an AC15 and a bunch of pedals and played around but got frustrated with pedals because if I wanted to play many different styles I either had mess around with settings between (or during) songs. I missed just creating programs and saving them. So, I decided to get a VOX ToneLab ST for my tube amp and I ditched the pedal collection. I was itching to get a solid state for practice and jamming to save tube life for shows. Enter the Spider IV 75. I turned it on and immediately remembered what I loved about the Spider III, diversity. I also bought the FBV Express MKii and immediately downloaded "FX Infusion", a firmware update that adds a boat-load of new effects: 5 additional reverb types, a handful of overdrives (like the tube screamer) and more modulations/settings. There is also a free software application you get from Line 6 that allows you link the amp (through the footswitch) into a computer and you can edit your the settings in a "visual" program like you would in Reason or PodFarm. Your changes update in real time as you play. The software application alone is well worth cost of the footswitch. Volume: I found the amp to be plenty loud. I have an VOX AC15 and the Spider 75 is much louder. Now, I'm not going to compare it to a tube amp on tone or dynamics. I love tube amps but a tube amp is a one trick pony and if you want diversity you have to add pedals or effect units. The Spider IV is a horse of many colors. For jamming and practicing with a band, this is perfect for me. For gigs, I'll use the AC15 and have the Spider IV as a backup. For the price, this amp is cutting edge fun.

Stunned by this amp!

By Ron

from Orlando, FL

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Line 6 did it with the new Spider IV series. I admit to being a tube snob but was looking for a lighter more compact amp for home practice and maybe to take to a friend's house to jam...this is it. I was shocked by the tones from this amp...it would be a great primary or backup amp if for small venues. There are some features that are not on this amp but for the price this one is hard to equal let alone beat.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is great for the price and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. However it took me awhile to figure out how to get really good tone. Most people don't like this amp because of its tone... What I found out is to get the tone you want you have to play around with the amp settings alot! The knobs are very sensitive and this is why people usually don't like this amp it takes awhile to know how to use it but once you find out how to use the amp you will achieve really good tone almost like a tube amp but not quiet considering this amp is very digital.

This amp is Awesome. I got this amp a couple of months ago and it amazes me every time I turn it on. The only draw back to this amp is that it has a learning curve because it does so much. I got it with an Express Pedal and I wish I would have spent that extra $100 to get the shortboard.

Great for beginners

By Chris

from Sn Antonio, TX

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had this amp for a very long time, I have had a 75watt spider since spider 3 and they are very heavy guitar amps, during my first two years learning how to play I used this and it is a massive bang for the buck. It comes with tons of effects for any playing style, on a scale of 1-10 for how much distortion, this amp gets a solid 8, the distortion is mad at lower levels but when you start kranking this powerhouse amp up it gets really intence, sometimes so intence you can't even hear your mids or treble anymore, that is a big downside to this amp, the sound starts to get muddy at high levels, I wouldn't use it for gigging for this reason, the other con to this is the sound can sound sort of digital like it isn't natural distortion, to bassy at times, I was never able to get the tone I have been craving for, mad house rocking distortion with clarity, the speaker just cuts out the mids and makes it sound to distorted. The good news is that this only happens at ridiculous sound levels, like gigging, if you are using this as a practice amp than it will suit you perfectly.

By Gilligan

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

For the price, this is a truly amazing amp. While the preset tones are cool, and good for a playing a few songs, I think they are better defined as great templates or starting points. You may find a tone you like, but just feels to be missing something, just tweak it to your liking. The basic models are great too. Each model offers two settings. Between the models, and all the effects, the possibilities are almost endless. Hook up to the Line 6 website and you can swap tones with other users too. It has your basic line out connection, and you can plug in your cd/mp3 player if you want to play along. It's got the hookup for the footswitch which is a must have addition. All in all, for the price I paid, this amp is top notch

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

ok, for the price you cant beat this amp. it does everything from soft acoustic to screamin metal. i actually bought a mesa boogie express recently and i traded that in within a week and got this. this amp is even GOOD for gigs. i played a gig with it the day after i got it and i got many compliments bout our sound and the other bansd who used it loved it aswell. and the effects are amazing there is no more need for pedals. but the footswitch is a must. the best part was the guitar center i went to gave me an awesome deal he gave me the amp and shortboard for about $400. Bottom line is that for the money your spending this amp is amazing and i still prefer it over the mesa boogie express series

great value - great small gig & practice/recording amp

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

line 6 does it again, provides the working musician with an affordable amp that delivers. the spider iv 75 watt combo is a great amp for small venue gigs, practice, and with its line out has the ability to sound great for recording or direct input into a pa. the sixteen amp models are worth the price by themselves, but add the 500 patchs and you should be able to create or cover any sound you like. the amp has a very tight bottom and sparkling tops. for 300 dollers it would be hard to find any other amp that could compete. and did i mention 20 fully editable effects which you can run 4 at one time. get it you wont regret it.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Do not buy this amp. There's nothing else I can say besides that it sounds horrible. It's impossible to get a good tone out of it. I bought mine a few years ago, and I only ever use it a few times a year because the onboard effects are fun to mess around with. Yeah the effects are fun, but most of them can't be used for anything else other than making a funny noise. Also if you want this amp to be any sort of usable at all, you need to shell out another $200 for the matching footboard. $200 for something that can only be used with this piece of junk amp. Don't get a Mustang either if you want to use any sort of driven or distorted tone. If you're just starting out, save up a few extra bucks and buy a small tube amp because the tone will be significantly better, and if you get this you're just going to want to upgrade in a year or two anyway. I understand money can be hard to come by if you're a teenager or a beginner and that it might take you a long time to save up for something better, but money spent on this is money wasted. Stay away from this amp.
