Although I primarily use this for practice I have used it both for live and studio work as money is hard to come by. But this amp is great Line 6 quality with a good price. No other 30 watt amp can compare, I started with a Fender 30 watt went to a Peavy 120 Wt and the line 6 kills the Peavy. The sound is clear in all channels and effects, great amp for all of your uses.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago before returning it to GC for an exchange. Its a decent amp with lots of features and effects. I liked the mp3 jack, the headphone jack, and the price. But for what I play, blues and classic rock, it wasn't the right amp for me and I should've done more research before buying. Thankfully GC has an awesome return policy. This amp would be better served in the hands of someone who prefers metal, distortion, phasing, and echo effects at the cost of clean, full, tone. I ended up exchanging for the Fender Hot Rod Series Blues Junior NOS 15W amp, 50W speaker. Its exactly what I wanted and sounds amazing. I hope this helps.

    over all a good amp..

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

this amp is decent for starters through intermidiate guitarists. Over all the sound quality is very different, in a good way, if u like songs with a sort of "warp" in the guitar sounds, for example [Alter Bridge] than you will enjoy this guitar. overall i recomend this amp if u dont have that much money but still want a spider xD

    Great All-Around

    By Tyler

    from Camarillo, California

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was looking around Guitar Center when I came across this. My cousin has a lower-grade version that doesn't sound all that great, so I was a bit hesitant to try this one. After plugging in, I discovered it's strengths and weaknesses. It sounds amazing with distortion, but you can only achieve a good clean tone with a single coil pickup. So, if you have a double humbucker guitar, this isn't the amp for you if you want clean every now and then. The blues and twang also sounded great. This will most likely be my future amp.

    Line 6 Spider IV 30

    By Chris

    from Redlands, CA

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

The Spider IV 30 is perfect for my style of play and preference of music - METAL! Itۡs an easy Amp to use and the pre-sets are right on. I play a lot of Metallica and I get the rich tone in both Acoustical and Distortion when playing. The effects are great too and you can customize your effects with the Amp pre-set to arrange your own sound ۡ very cool! When I plug in my iPod and play along to songs like Seek n Destroy, Ride the Lightening and Master of Puppets to name a few - the hairs on my arms and neck go straight up - why - because I am playing lead guitar not Kirk Hammett:) For the price itۡs a great deal and if you are like me with a beginner kit with a weak Amp - I've got 2 words - UP GRADE - to the Spider IV 30 now.

    Great Little Amp!

    By John

    from Clearwater, FL

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

My son and I get all of our gear at GC, so when he said he wanted a new amp for Christmas, I knew this was his favorite. Still, I looked at everything in my price range and stiil came back to this one. There is no amp in this price range that produces the tone that this one does, thanks to the 12" Celestion. The amp models and on-board effects make for a great little practice amp. The only downside is that the master volume control goes from bearable (we live in a condo)to loud and full with just the slightest touch. Guess I'll be getting a letter or two from the condo board- oh well. Finally make sure that you at least get the FBV2 footswitch and you have a setup that can let you have some fun!

    This amp can swing.

    By Travis Lyons

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is an amazing amp. I got the amp by mistake really (meant to get the the spider IV 15 but I'm glad I spent the extra money). This amp puts out screaming leads, thick galloping distorted chords, in your face blues, and my favorite, a sweeeeet Jazz sound. I love the reverb. This amp really can kick to. It puts out a lot of sound. I recommend this or any line six to anyone. It's very much worth the money. So far I've had no problems. It's a little piece of electronic heaven!

    Great All-Around Amp

    By Waseem

    from California Palmdale

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

i bought this amp a few weeks ago, and all i can say is "wow". I'm stunned at how powerful this little guy is. I'm into any kind of style from clean to metal and this amp really does the job! The clean setting is really crisp, while the "metal" setting is still extremely grungy and mean. This has to be the best/ most versatile amp for the price. And it is LOUD! I never have the master volume above 1/4th the way, and i get complaints from my neighbors ;).. Only problem with the amp was that the factory presets weren't all that great, but it is very easy to change. All in all its a great amp, and if you need a new amp and have $200 laying around, go to your nearest GC and pick one of these bad boys up. \m/

    Awesome Practice Amp

    By Noah Felps

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I've had this amp for about 6-8 months now and its AMAZING. Its perfect for practicing in your bedroom BUT if you want to take it to a band practice you're gonna what a bigger watt amp. The amp is mainly good for Metal and Rock, not so much for clean stuff but it will get the job done. Overall GREAT amp GREAT price. I highly recommend it to a beginner/intermediate player.

Amazing Amp, only two draw backs

    By Rockah Rollah Man

    from Smithtown, NY

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Ok, so I bought this amp with my new guitar (Dean Razorback) a few months ago and all I got to say is I am amazed. The effects are amazing and I love every bit of it. I had a minor run in with my front door and smashed a chrome painted plastic knob off but a little model glue fixed it right up. The only draw backs is that it's sorta big and clunky for bring to jam sessions and because it's digital, most guitars sound the same on it (but I've only tried 4 so far)

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I just got this amp in june. i had played one before at guitar center but never really paid much attention to the effects. i love all of the effects. i don't use blues much only when i practice. and i don't use reverb. the crunch is simply awesome andthe metal and rock are great for metallica and three days grace. i'm not a huge fan of clean though but i love it.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I got this amp from my friend because he said he didnt feel like returning it and i was in need of a smaller amp....a full stack is great for the stage, not for your bedroom. So I turned it on and i was amazed at how bad the effects sound...they were horrible...or atleast thats my opinion..the distortion sounded just digital and not good at all..the clean channel sounded unnatural..it just wasnt for me...it was way to digital.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

great amp with awesome distortion. the crunch is absolutely perfect. especially for punk. very affordable, very powerful and quite loud. lets you save channels and everything. a keeper for sure. only problem is that the amp goes from very quiet to EXTREMELY LOUD by just touching the volume knob. also not the best amp to use for clean. all in all it is a beautiful amp that is very cheap yet great for its price.

    Caught in the Web

    By CRAIG MANN

    from Springfield, MA

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have a 50 watt tube combo and a 100 watt tube head and was looking for an amp I could practice with late at night or with headphones. I had purchased a Line 6 Spider IV 15 watt a few months ago and I took a leap of faith that the 30 watt could handle it with the large celestion speaker. Well, I was right. Not only does it handle the heavy palm mutes, the Metal and Insane Red and Green versions all produce different chugging sounds. I should mention that I don't put this above maybe 20% volume because it does get loud for indoors, and I don't know if the higher volumes could maintain the sweet chugging sounds. I love the sounds this modeling amp puts out, especially the Red Metal channel and the Green Clean. Can this be used for gigging? No. That isn't what this is designed for, but if you are looking for a great practice amp at an affordable price....do yourself a favor and pick this one up. I rarely write reviews, and this amp has my mark of approval.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

To get use to if you had the Spider III. Has an all around better sound, and has much better tone. Line6 going for the tube amp sound actually worked for the most part. I've been playing for almost 3 years, and its probably one of the best amps I've played on. Just takes time to get use to, compared to earlier models.
