Although I primarily use this for practice I have used it both for live and studio work as money is hard to come by. But this amp is great Line 6 quality with a good price. No other 30 watt amp can compare, I started with a Fender 30 watt went to a Peavy 120 Wt and the line 6 kills the Peavy. The sound is clear in all channels and effects, great amp for all of your uses.

I bought this about 2 weeks ago before returning it to GC for an exchange. Its a decent amp with lots of features and effects. I liked the mp3 jack, the headphone jack, and the price. But for what I play, blues and classic rock, it wasn't the right amp for me and I should've done more research before buying. Thankfully GC has an awesome return policy. This amp would be better served in the hands of someone who prefers metal, distortion, phasing, and echo effects at the cost of clean, full, tone. I ended up exchanging for the Fender Hot Rod Series Blues Junior NOS 15W amp, 50W speaker. Its exactly what I wanted and sounds amazing. I hope this helps.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I use this amp in My Home Studio, I am not pleased with it at all, . Its like , if You try and adjust the sound, the volume, or effects.. You can not do it...It seems in this like the makers of these Line ^ amps, wanted to control Your sound with their ideas. No matter how you adjust the others, such as Bass Mid Range, and treble ..the sound does not change.. The main settings, ""Clean, Twang, Crunch, In-same....Its these that control the amp 99% of the time...You may set the Tap Loop or echo to where You want it.. Then if You change the ""Main"" settings, from say Clear to twang, You lose that setting,,, even when You return the Main setting control.....I have a older smaller spider IV 15W 1x8 line 6 amp, and blows this 30w 1x12 away with both sound quality and tones.. ease of adjusting those tones., the reason I bought the new amp, My smaller amp gets hot and shuts down ,,something going out in the electronic board ....but I am highly disappointed in the Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 combo amp..

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Disappointed in the amp as whole, the sound is hard to control...I have a 3 year old Line 6 IV 15 15W 1x8 , that just blows the bigger Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 away with sound and tones..The only reason I went to the bigger amp, My older one has some issues, gets hot and shuts down...so I thought why not, its on sale, get the bigger newer and suppose to be better,,,Size is not everything in amp..

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

I sadly have to use this amp a lot at the place I take lessons from and I can't say this is a good amp. If you are just starting out, this is a good amp to start out with, but if your getting serious about playing DO NOT USE THIS AMP. The distortion is extremely muddy and has no flexibility to it. In recording, it is poor and in live shows the distortion early creates a huge discordant sound that drowns out the vocals. If you use this amp, please keep it at home for practice and that's it.

This Amp is a great. It gives some great tone and with my Epiphone Les Paul, I keep wanting to use it. The mp3 is sketchy, (probably my wire) but everything else works fine. Great amp for a good price

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 30 30W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp:

Given that digital tuners shouldn't be that difficult to get right, it's frustrating that the onboard tuner on this amp is set to 441 or 442, and there is no way to adjust it. The first time I used this amp to tune up in a band situation, I could tell that the other guitarist and I were "off." Some experimentation confirmed that when I'm in tune with the rest of the world is when the "you're a little too low" light is on for each string. And there is no way to adjust the tuner... I've read other comments online that the tuners in these amps are off, so it's not just me.

I understand that this is a tricky amp to work with, that when you change one knob, surprising things may happen... things that make sense when you figure out what's going on but that can be very frustrating if you're trying to change your sound on the fly in a live situation.
