Overview

The wide range of Spider IV 15 amp tone starts strong, with a bright and distinctive American clean tone, and then opens gradually to achieve the vintage grit and chime of classic British amplifiers. Experience the infamous "Brown" sound distortion, which is based on a '68 Marshall Plexi 100 with a Variac and jumped input channels, and a searing high-gain tone based on a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier.

With one-touch ease you can access 4 channels of world-class Line 6 tones that were masterfully dialed in by pro players. Plus, each channel also stores 4 complete amp settings of your own creation! Create, save and recall amp model, EQ, gain and effect settings with the push of a button. A wolf in sheep's clothing, Line 6 Spider IV 15 sounds ferocious at low volumes as well as cranked to 11. Plus, value-packed, the guitar amp puts pro sounds into a lightweight box that's small enough to tuck under your bed or desk. Joining the Line 6 community entitles you to top-tier customer service provided by Line 6 representatives and other Spider IV users. Get free Spider IV 15 amp settings for famous songs as well as free lessons, backing tracks, drum loops and more.

An Instant Collection of Essential FX
Line 6 Spider IV 15 Smart FX were inspired by sought-after stompbox and studio effects to deliver the same unique sounds, colors and textures celebrated by pro players. Each knob lets you easily adjust the intensity of the chosen effect so you can get back to playing as quickly as possible.

Total Tone Flexibility
The easy-to-use front panel makes it a snap to find a stage-ready tone. Quickly and easily add some grit with the amp's Drive knob and some dimension (or dementia) with the wide variety of effects.

Need to shape your tone? Tweak the Bass, Mid, and Treble knobs just like you would on a vintage amplifier. When you choose an amp model, the Spider IV 15 EQ section behaves just like the EQ section of the modeled amplifier. Spider IV 15 guitar amp gives you a complete, organic, and fully authentic representation of each of its amplifier models.

The Line 6 Spider IV 15 provides all the flexibility and conveniences that guitarists expect from a world-class Line 6 amplifier. this thing is a great little 15 watt. i still havent turned it up all the way cause im afraid to blow my living room windows out. the affects work but their not very customizable. the built in tuner is confusing so i just use my own. all the presets sound pretty good and combined with my rp70 digitech effects pedal, i can get all the sounds of everything i can play. the clean always starts with echo and flange effects when you switch to it, but all you have to do is turn the effects on then off again to turn them off. its kinda heavy but not much more than a 15w should be. bottom line: you can get some decent sounds from it and a ton more with an effects pedal added. bottom, bottom line: this thing is SUPER LOUD for a 15w.

So I believe that most of this is probably opinionated so take what I say lightly. For the money you can probably consider this a good amp. its fine to start out on and if your in to metal it may be good for you. but really you cant get all of those clean sounds out of it. I bought a second hand Roland Cube that does clean entirely better then this. I also feel it just sounds too digital. I cant entirely put my finger on it but its just not all there. it has no soul. for a beginner if having a verity of sounds is what you want and you don't have a lot of money to spend on another amp this may be the option for you. personally i think that getting a vox or a marshal may be a better option but you will probably have to throw a little more money down to get all of those different sounds. play on it and see what you think before buying one? this is all in my opinion and there are probably lots of guitarist that like this amp so listen to them too, take the pros and the cons and see what it is you want in an amp. Once again i want to say that this is all opinionated, take other thoughts besides mine on this.

Of course it's not for serious gigging, but I don't think you can find better for the money for playing and recording at home.

Comments about Line 6 Spider IV 15 15W 1x8 Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is probably one of the most popular amps out there, Because its the epitome of jack of all trades master of none. It has a pretty good clean, a pretty good crunch and 2 alright distortions, So it can be used to reach a lot of sounds. But none of these sounds are good enough to warrant buying this amp for just that one single tone. The effects on this amp sound very good for built in effects, however the lack of tweaking options allows for it to fall short. The amp is very easy to setup and dial-in, however you have to readjust the knobs every time you turn it back on. Now the one thing this amp does very right is its portablity. Its light compared to many 15 watt amps, and its one of the loudest 15 watt solid state amps I have heard. So if you need and amp for you to take to many places to show your friends what you can play and be "the guy who plays his electric guitar" at parties, this amp is just what you need. Also this amp is a very good beginners amp, easy to use, loud, and can hit a lot of tones. But if you need an amp to record with, gig with, or use for serious purposes, This amp is not for you.

I've bought this amp twice in my life. The first time ten years ago, then again this month. I gave the first amp away because I was took a break from guitar. I still love the sound and ease of use of this amp so I bought it again when I picked the guitar back up.

Overall it's a good, solid amp. It has a lot of power and a lot of sound. The effects are good as well. They aren't overpowered. It can be a little difficult to get a regular clean sound out of it but it can be done with a little work. I'm very happy with this purchase. Great for the price!
