This is the combo amp of dreams. Ilove this pice of equiptment. It has every sound, tone, volume setting, and a huge selection of effects. This is great for every style of musican. I play alot of diffrent styles of music and the Line 6 Spider II 212 is the dream amp. its loud as hell, it has loads of settings. i beleive this amp is underestimated. When i first heard it I only thought it wouls be good for distortion. I was wrong its great for everything to mellow clean tones to scremin solos. My band uses all Line 6 spider equiptment and it delivers.
ok this is amp is great for metal. if you are looking for something that will produce a strong drop D sound and play those low notes with really powerful distortion then this is deffinetly the amp for you. however, if your looking for something that can play everything and can also produce screaming solos this is deffinetly not the amp of choice. another problem that i faced with this amp is that you can never find a setting that will play both low and high notes strongly. if i have a setting i can only get it to play the lower notes. In alot of my music i tend to play alot of hendrix style stuff and this is by far not the amp to go with if you want classic stuff like that. If you are death metal, grindcore, thrash or any of that other stuff this is a great amp but DO NOT get it if you plan on playing all kinds of stuff. This amp is all for distortion and thats it.
After playing this amp at my local GC, i decided it just needed to come home with me. Overall, this amp is a great deal for the low price. Onboard effects, built in tuner, lots of power; what more could you ask for? The modeling features really let you explore and experiment with different tones. The only feature I did not like was that you cannot independantly change each effect, limiting this amps true capability.
This is the first nice amp I have gotten. The most noticeable thing I saw was how many shiny knobs there are (because us guitarists like knobs). Yes there are many effects on this, but some effects are bundled on a single knob. For example, flange and chorus are on the same knob, so you can't combine them. The tuner feature on the amp saves you trouble on those loud jam sessions when you want Drop D but can't even hear yourself think. I like the 12 different amp models you can choose from, but this doesn't have the crunchy distortion I wanted for lead guitar. I found the distortion most useful for heavy metal. The clean amp model provides a very crisp sound, so I found that to be a plus. If you're looking for a well-priced amp that can deliver a wide range of tones that keep their sound even at high volumes, this is a good choice.
This was my first actual amp that was more than 15 watts. I remember being so incredibly excited about all of the effects and all of the different amp models, but the more I play on it, the more I realize how limited it really is. The clean channels are my biggest issue, they are just not full enough, the tone is really clear and beautiful, but it has no depth to it, even if you turn the bass up all of the way it still leaves something to be desired. The tuner is maybe the most useful tool on the amp. The hidden overdrive and noisegate come in handy once in a while especially the noisegate. The amp is incredibly loud and consistent with the tone on all channels at all volumes, which is a huge plus. The effects on the other hand, leave plenty to be desired. All in all it's a good amp if you want to get a feel for the effects, and you don't mind losing a little tone in the process.
The Spider leaves all other 112 amps in the dust. It has built in effects, than are capable of being used at the same time. A built in tuner, and an ethernet port for the available foot pedals. I have had it for over a year, and it hasn't failed me yet. Great for intermediate players of all ages. And if this is too expensive, Line 6 has a whole line of Spider II models.
I have used the "Spider 2" many times, and all of which i loved it. This amp has a great sound and great on-board affects. Whether you want a highly-distorted sound, or you want a nice, clean sound, this is the amp for you. This isn't one of those amps that sounds really good loud, but really bad quiet either. This is the best sounding amp at low volumes I've heard, just in case you have grumpy neighbors. Over all the amp is a sturdy, awesome sounding, and has some quiet outstanding affects.
While I'm not a big fan of digital effect amps, I was amazed at this one. I played it at a Guitar Center near where I live, and I was literally blown away. It amazed me, it is truly the only amp that I would consider owning for onboard effects. The effects sound amazing! Not to mention the distortion channels. I used the Insane amp setting + Reverb. It was like playing through a heavy duty distortion pedal in the Notre Dame. Very, very awesome amp. And it's very easy to tweak the effects as well, you can even have up to 3 effects at once! Don't miss out on this amp!
Although the Line 6 spider II has seem to have gotten a bad rep by many guitar afficianados, I think this amp totally kicks. First off is the power. 150 watts of pure eat blistering power, coupled with two Celestions. Then comes the ridiculously versitile preamp section. You can get everything from a crystal clean, to a cruncky blues to an amazing lead and distortion sound. On top of that is the effects. The phaser, tremolo and especially the delay are all higlights of the effect section. It's outputs also offer recording capablilities as well as a cabinet hook up. I've used this amp for countless gigs and it still amazes me. All the bad rep's this amp has gotten should be scraped and thrown away. From $400. this is the real deal dude.
I got this amp for small gigs and to take to band practice.Instead of my marshall halfstack and it is great amp for beginner. I advise for everybody to get this amp.
