The Line 6 Spider II 212 Combo amp is a great amp. It gives you options that you wouldn't find in a lot of amplifiers. It's perfect for a gig or for practice. No matter What you use it for you can coun't on this amp. It gives you tones from clean to insane which is sort of like metal just with way more distortion. I use this amp with my gibson sg standard and let me tell you they make a great pair. I would recommend this amp to any one who likes to get many different tone because let me tell you you something, this baby has it all.
Effects and a powerful amp. It covers all your bases, and the line out has been a lifesaver for my home recording. The footpedal is a bit limited, but does the job.
I have a this amp and it is truely mind blowing. The effects really impressed me from what it came with. I use a PRS Tremonti and it sounds great espesially for those hard rockers out there, looking for something with all the features of without the cost of many pedals. This amp has everything. I suggest this for guitarists looking for a nice local gig amp for a lead guitar. I don't suggest this for playing anything softer... blues... soft rock... jazz. It works but I would choose an old tube amp over this any day. Over all it's a great amp.
This amp is awesome! The guitarist in my band plays the 112, and now I can finally hear myself play!! Line 6 is the best. I used to play my strat through a Marshall MG 30, and I have to say this one sounds so much better. I tried some other Marshalls and Crates and I was set on getting the MG100 Half Stack, but I had to see my other options. I instantly fell in love with the Line 6. The overdrive settings (Metal, Insane,Blues, and Crunch) sound great for any rock, hardcore, punk, or even classic rock. I use insane most of the time to get that A7X sound. The clean settings (Clean and Twang) you can get to sound just like an acoustic or a great neutral sound. You can do just anything to get any sound with this amp. And by the way, THIS THING IS LOUD, I set the master volume 3 bars up and it blasted the entire house. (My house is huge). This is by far my favorite amp and is good for anybody who plays guitar, no matter what style of music
This amp is one of the best on the market today. One of the best qualities that this amp has to offer is all the different tone options. You are actually getting several amps because of this feature! This amp is so versatile that no matter what type of music you play, you will always get a clean, crisp sound. I have sampled several amplifiers before purcasing an amp and decided on the Line 6 Spider II for it's true quality sound. I love it!
I purchased the Line 6 Spider II 212 combo amp about a year ago, and though it has been acting up the last few months (from extreme use), it has held up to the insane volumes I have pushed through it. I've played quite a few combo amps, including Marshalls and Crates, and none of them have came close to the Spider II series by Line 6. The Spider II is packed with cool features, from the 150 Watts that are pushed through 2 Celestion custom design speakers, all the way to the onboard tuner and the multi-effects processor. I am particularly fond of the "Metal" setting, and the "Clean" model with a little bit of chorus: Screaming, high-gain distortion, and thick, rich, and warm chorused clean tone. There is also an onboard noise gate, which is kind of difficult to turn on and off, but it works wonders on your tone when it's in use. Overall, for any heavy guitarist who is on a budget, I would recommend checking out the Line 6 Spider II series of amplifiers, you will not be disappointed.
I bought this about 2 years ago so that I had a practice amp at home so that I didn't have to lug my gigging full stack back and forth from my band's practice area. This combo is much much better than I expected when I ordered it. 150W, 4 channels, 12 models, 7 effects, and enough distortion built right in that no pedal was needed. I was impressed. I found that if pushed through a good enough PA system that its great for gigging in small venues. This combo can even be used as a head for a half or full stack cab if needed for larger venues. Great amp!
This is a very good choice of an amp for the beginner guitarist who wants a little more in their sound. The tuner is very helpful and works fine; especially if u have to change tunings between songs. The 4 mode choice is also good for the same reason. The only thing that could use some work is the effect panel because you arent given much. However, it is an excellent amp and sounds great. Highly recommended.
I was amazed when I tried this out at Guitar Center. It has crazy presets, and a clear sound with not much buzzing and stuff you dont want to hear when you play. I plugged in my SG and put it on Blues and it sounded perfect. I didnt even have to fool around with the bass or treble on the amp like with my Marshall. It is a phenominal combo at a great price. Try it out for yourself and you will know what I'm talking about.
When I was shopping for a new amp I tried this amplifier at Guitar Center and was very impressed. For a $300 amplifier you get a ton of effects, distortion, and its really loud. The downside of this amplifier though is the sound quality, if you have heard many amps in your life (especially tube) you will realize that the Spider has a more digital sound because it is a modeling amp. But others may like this sound, its all personal opinion, but definitly try before you buy with this one.
