Overview

Line 6's Relay G30 redefines the wireless experience for guitarists and bassists with superior sound, professional dependability, and refreshing simplicity.

The Relay G30 Digital Wireless Mic System provides a pure signal so guitars get a beautiful high-end sparkle and basses get a thunderous low-end punch, even at distances of up to 30 meters (98 ft. approx). The signal's clarity rivals that of the highest-quality guitar cables. Traditional wireless systems compromise their sound by rolling-off crucial high- and low-end frequencies and compressing their signals. Relay G30 offers superior sound with full bandwidth and zero compression.

Professional Dependability
The Relay G30 broadcasts its robust signal over the 2.4GHz band. This keeps the signal free from many kinds of interference. For added security, the system employs exclusive signal protection technology: it broadcasts an encrypted data stream on six channels simultaneously. Traditional wireless instrument systems, on the other hand, are susceptible to dropouts, static, and many other kinds of interference. Broadcasting over congested UHF bands, their signals may be affected by interference generated as far away as 100 miles, or more.

Refreshing Simplicity
The lightweight transmitter of the Line 6 Relay G30 remains out of the way of your performance, and the rugged receiver can sit on top of your amp or be added to your pedal board. The receiver offers bright and easy-to-read LEDs that display power, status, and battery life. Its standard 1/4" inputs and outputs deliver real convenience.

The mic system comes complete with transmitter, receiver, and all necessary accessories including cable, power supply, and batteries.

Attached to Your Guitar Cable?
For players attached to cables, adopting a wireless system introduces many questions: What will it feel like? Will it change my sound? Relay G30 sounds just like a cable, but it also sounds just like your cable. It features two EQ settings that match the frequency responses of typical guitar cables. Different players use different cables, but all players can use Line 6 Relay G30.

The Wireless Mic Revolution
Relay G30 is proudly ushering in a better-sounding and more dependable era of wireless guitar systems. It will inspire you to explore new areas of your music and the stage.

Consumer Alert:

Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change. For more information, call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC) or visit the FCCs wireless microphone website at: www.fcc.gov/cgb/wirelessmicrophones.

The Line 6 G30 suprised me! I have heard good reviews about their X2 wireless systems and decided to try out the new Relay wireless systems. I got this product yesterday and was messing around with it all day. I was trying my hardest to get interference and dropouts, but i couldn't. I ran up and down the stairs, outside, and even to my neighbors house...nothing. 100 ft is plenty of room for you to move around and chances are that your not going to be on a stage that's over that lengh. This is a product that you definately have to check out if you want to go wireless on a budget. Line 6 has done it again!

The wireless on the product is great. It really sounds amazing. The problem comes with the G30 transmitter that hooks to your guitar. The clip that straps to your guitar strap is held on by two very poorly designed plastic feet. On two G30 transmitters, one of the feet has broken off making the unit to where it won't strap onto the guitar strap. This makes having a wireless unit almost useless.

Both feet could not be glued back on. The only solution was to buy another G30 transmitter, but they are too expensive. I really recommend looking at another product because if you buy this one, you will most likely be replacing the transmitter unit due to poor design.

Package sucks

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

The G30 works well, but it does not work for 8 hours on a set of AA alkaline batteries. It also breaks easily. The metal clip is attached to the back by two plastic hooks and since they are plastic they will break as I experienced. If one breaks it cannot be held on to the clip so you can't use it, unless you put it in your pocket, which is uncomfortable and feels wierd having it transmit so close to your.....
Also, the battery compartment door sucks. It does not close flat since the batteries are forced towards it so hard with too strong of springs. This makes the door not close flat, and it is only held closed by a little tiny plastic tab that locks it closed. Again, plastic, so it will break or with the pressure, slip and the door will open spilling the batteries when you are running around the stage.
So think about these issues before buying this or any other Line 6 Relay. It does not matter how good the electronics perform it the package design was poor.

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

Had another G30 that I used for hundreds and hundreds of gigs until the battery door gave up the ghost. Great system, and the 1/4" output on the transmitter makes it far superior to the G50 which uses a proprietary cable. Never had a problem with dropouts on the G30, and the mute switch on the pack makes it easy to switch instruments quickly.

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

I was hesitant to purchase this system due to other reviews where are people sad there were problems with static feedback in a signal delay and the clip breaking easily. I am not a professional musician and only played about 8 to 10 hours per week but I have not experienced any of these issues I highly recommend it for that purpose

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

I have owned this unit for approx 2 years and I play bass 2-3 weekends a month in my band. The sound quality is very impressive and it reproduces bass very well with no noticeable frequency loss. The construction of the beltpack/transmitter lacks quality and ruins what otherwise would be an awesome wireless system for the money. After dealing with a broken belt clip, battery door and now internal jack, I'm afraid I'm done with it. My advice if you absolutely need to go wireless is to save your money a little bit longer and invest in a higher quality Shure or Sennheiser.

I saw all the positive reviews (and the endorsement video) and saw the sale price, so thought I'd give it a shot. I hooked it up at home to make sure it worked and it took 5 minutes or less. I used it at a gig last night and it worked flawlessly and is simple to set up. I was able to walk out into the dancing crowd at a club. I didn't have to worry about tripping over my cable and got that sense of "freedom". Nice product!

I have only used it at 2 practices, but our first gig is coming up soon, so I will be utilizing it fully then. I love not being connected with a chord. Sound quality is solid. I echo what others have said about it sounding louder than the normal setup. Very happy with my purchase.

Comments about Line 6 Relay G30 Digital Wireless Guitar System:

I've been playing bass for 40+ years, and for some reason (probably $$), never got around to going wireless. Last fall, a fellow bass player introduced me to the G30, and I was immediately hooked! Unfortunately, after about a month, the unit started failing intermittently, weirdly dropping out almost randomly (during a gig, which forced a mad scramble for cables). I first thought the problem might have been interference, but it persisted, even on different channels and in a completely different venue. I traded the unit for another, but had the same problem.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I now had become addicted to wireless, so traded up to the Shure GLXD16, which was a lot more expensive, but has performed flawlessly.

In defense of the Relay G30, I have at least two friends who have the units and have had absolutely no problems. However, I just couldn't take the risk of another misfire during a gig.

Overall I am pleased. Good clear sound with no interference. The transmitter is kind of cheaply built. The battery compartment door comes open every now and then, and the batteries fall out. I can live with it though. All and all it is a decent product.

Been gigging for 50 years. Using Telex for 20 years. They just went to the used toy box. This is a great unit. Multi channel-1/4 to 1/4 jacks. Sound clarity is fantastic. I see no design flaws, anyone who has problems with the strap clip must be less than respecful of their equipment. It's plug and play at it's best.
I will be getting more units for my all my stage guitars.
