Great tool!

By Paulbiz

from Clifton, VA

I used a POD 2.0 for years and finally decided to upgrade to the X3....so far I am EXTREMELY pleased...this baby sounds great! Excelllent for home recording and just jamming through headphones. VERY professional sounds. It takes a little time to learn how to use it (YOU MUST READ THE MANUAL) but its really not that difficult. Excellent!

Great

By outspoken2

from Citrus Heights, California

All the Line 6 Kidney shaped are great, but with one complaint, there's no bypass button. Instead of a clear channel, a bypass button would be better so all the channels could be utilized for the fantastic effects. The Floor type Pods are great, click off all the effects and all you hear is your guitar through your amp. Overall Line 6 Products are Fantastic and great gear.

Great!

By LlamaJockey

from Dallas, TX

This is my first multi-fx unit.. I decided to go for this over the X3 live because it was cheaper, and I wanted to have something more portable to carry around since I already have a pedal board. All in all I'm very impressed with this thing. Everything is tweakable, there's more sounds than I know what to do with, and that dual tone feature is amazing. As I expected, most of the distortions suck. But, a little tweaking and you can get some usable ones. But the cleans, overdrives, and FX are where this baby shines. There's almost limitless possibilities. I have yet to try out the vocal features or acoustic mic, but from what I've seen so far it looks pretty good. The Pod X3 may look a bit like a toy, but it will surprise you with what it stores in that red casing.

So many sounds!!!!

By John Johnson

from Tillamook Oregon

I have had this pod for about a month and I have tried almost everything out at least once. The sounds this thing produces are phenomenal. Every single effect is first class. After reviewing the manual and with the help of built in tutorials, I was able to get most anything I wanted. My favorite way to use it is to hook up to the computer and visit Guitarport. The entire unit is nice and compact, but don't let that fool you. Controls are easy to operate and with everything shown on screen, you can't go wrong. This is one piece of equipment that does almost everything.

Great Sounds

By IceDevil

from AZ

Thsi effects processor is awesome, but what else would you expect from line 6. It is tricky to figure out at first becasue it can do Soooo many things but once you understand it, this thing is great. You can get your guitar to sound like anyone you have ever heard on the radio. There are tons of choices to choose from or you can make your own. I have now just connected it to my insane stereo as apposed to my amp becasue my amp is a line 6 as well with an effects processor built in. And trying to get the right sound through 2 effects processors just was too much work. Really this thing was meant to work with more than your standard amp anyways, so it all worked out. if you are into playing many different styles and just love all the fun guitar gadgets then this is for you. Definatly worth the money.

awesome portable effects console!

By #NAME?

from Los Angeles

The bad news first: It's quite difficult to figure this thing out without the manual. The good news: The manual itself is easy to follow and will get you on your way to navigating on your own. The amount of different sounds on this thing can make you waste a day or two if you really explore the ranges you have between amps, cabs, effects and blending two amp tones any way you like. I played it through an old Peavey Classic VT series amp straight in and was blown away. I've yet to make it the power amp input but I'm sure it'll sound just a nice, especially because it has settings that let you select the tone with no cabinet so that your actual amp projects the tone. I've used the USB already into my computer and have been recording with this thing like crazy. This is a must-buy for someone who wants to simplify their recording process while having a good library of tones for playing live.

I love the pod x3!

By John Regan

from syracuse ny

I have owned pod 2.0 (which I should have never sold) and the flextone 3. I never got to use the pod xt and my first impression of the x3 is that it has significant tonal advantages over the flextone. I liked the flextone but the amp models always seemed to have just short of "enough" gain. The stompbox models of the x3 take care of this, but even the amp models have sufficient gain. The dual tone feature is amazing! I love the fact that there are multiple routing options for the dual tones. My only criticism of the x3 is that it doesn't have phantom power even though the box pictures a condenser mic.I am going to but a little 20$ phantom mic box though. It's a very small inconvenience for such a powerful little unit. I am very impressed with the pod x3!

Very Cool!

By Dan

from Illinois

I've tried other Pods before, but none of them seemed to have a real tube-like sound that this one has! I'd say the only thing I don't like about it is the retail price and the confusing on-screen selector... I've tried it out for about half an hour and only figured out how to use about 6 different channels on it...
