Overview

The industry standard for direct recording in the studio, POD ® 2.0 delivers the tones heard on hit records everywhere. For practice, it's the ultimate way to get inspiring, stage-perfected tones with headphones. In the studio, you can become more productive and creative. You can instantly get the sounds you need! Classic clean to modern high-gain tones all perfectly dialed in. POD 2.0 guitar effects processor allows you to quickly choose amps and effects without the long set up times and expensive equipment.

Are you frustrated trying to record great guitar amp sounds? POD ® 2.0 is the answer. You get a wide variety of classic and modern guitar sounds with convenient, easy-to-use effects built right in. Line 6's revolutionary A.I.R.™ modeling accurately captures the tone and feel of speaker cabinets, microphones, and studio room characteristics for an amazing recorded sound direct to any recording setup or PA. Sounds like having a great amp mic'd by a great engineer in a great studio!

Effects
POD ® 2.0 comes with a built in set of effects that are tweaked to perfection. This "best of" collection of effects makes searching for the perfect sounds ultra easy. Multiple versions of the effects give you rack or stompbox versions, and the combination effects give you classic setups like Delay and Chorus simultaneously.

There's even a full time Reverb, Tap Tempo for getting your delay's in time with the band, and an Effect Tweak knob for custom tailoring your effects. Plus, you'll never be out of tune because you'll get a Chromatic Tuner with a silent mute function for tuning between songs.

Ins and outs
POD ® is equipped to handle today's guitar recording needs with +4dBu balanced or -10dBV unbalanced 1/4" connectors. MIDI lets you automate every move and Line 6's optional FBV™: generation foot controllers let you do it all with your feet. POD 2.0 also comes with a high-power headphone output for silent jamming.

Left & Right Output - These are balanced 1/4" TRS connectors, and ready to rock with pro +4 dBu balanced equipment. They will also work happily with unbalanced -10 dBV equipment and standard guitar cables.

A.I.R.™: Mode — If you want to plug POD into a guitar amp as front end, flip the A.I.R. Mode switch to AMP, and set your amp for a clean tone. This defeats the speaker-microphone-room tone simulation of the A.I.R. processing. If you're using POD in almost any other setup (plugging direct into a mixer, recorder, PA, power amplifier, etc.) you want the DIRECT position on the A.I.R. switch.

Foot Pedal Connector - POD ® 2.0 is now compatible with the entire line of current foot controllers including FBV Express™: and FBV Shortboard™: !

MIDI In & Out - Connect POD to your MIDI equipment to select channel memories or automate POD settings.

I've has this thing long enough to know its an amazing little gadget. You can run it through a plain ol' cab and use it to make pretty much any style of music. Run it WITH a line6 amp and double up effects for crazy unique sounds, use it as a platform to run sound into your computer to record tracks, or just practice with headphones and not bother your parents! Lots of different models, lots of different cab styles, and lots of different effects. What more could you want? You can also plug midi in, use the floorboard, or run a mic through it and make your voice sound awesome! I recommend it to everyone.

I am not a big fan of digital effects at all but with all the great reviews, I decided to give this thing a try. I am sorry I did. I was getting ready to do some recording work as was thinking, "wouldn't it be nice is I had one little gadget instead of having to muss with a gizzilion pedals?" So I snapped up one of these on the way to the studio. We got all set up and I started messing with it. The effects were pretty cool but what killed it all... NOISE. This thing hummed and hissed so loud that it would hurt my head. We spent hours trying different cables, cords and even switched guitars all with the same result.. Finally, I disconnected the pod, plugged into a few pedals miced my old Vox tube amp and got to work. Sadly, this thing will be going back after several waisted, expensive hours in the studio. This was my second Line6 purchase and my second Line6 purchase returned, guess I am not a Line6 Fan

Great modeler

By Robert Stewart

from Wart burg tn

I have had my pod for years. I've used in the studio (zero hiss) and on stage. On stage I run it straight into the pa and it sounds killer. I have no plans to ever buy another actual amp and drag it around. I play an American strat and play in a band that plays classic rock and edgy Americana. Found the perfect setting that gives this beautiful warm crunchy purr when distorted and clean settings that sound so rich too. I also got the 4 button foot pedal with USB connection it works great.

Excellent deal

By Mitch

from Nashville, TN

I've had the POD 2.0 for a couple years and it never fails to deliver. I bought one almost brand new and it is still worth every penny. If you see one for any less than this price, SNAG IT. I love the amp modeling effects. I was able to produce a perfect "Edge" tone for U2 songs like Pride and Where the Streets Have No Name. It also emulates the heavy metal sounds of Metallica/Megadeth. My favorite is emulating the old tube amps and overdriving it to get that sweet Hendrix sound. You can pretty much do it all with this thing, no amp required!

The Best Guitar Effects EVER!

By Harrison Funk

from Atlanta, GA

I bought my POD for use at my church and for recording. This thing sounds so clear. It is useless to pay $500 for a rack mounted multi-effects for recording, when you can use this live too. The amp models are awesome. If you play guitar at home, live, or anywhere, you need this POD. You will not be disappointed. This thing sounds like it should be around $600. However, if you wish to play live, get the optional mic stand mount from guitar center.

Perfect for me!

By Bretman

from Iowa City

I've had my POD 2.0 for 4 years now and gigged with it over 100 times and IT HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN! Some reviewers might say it sounds artificial, but you've got to read the manual to get your tones right through an amp or PA. Just use your ears and believe me, you will get KILLER tones! People constantly ask me how I get my sound. I point out the POD and they're always like, "You're kidding!" I play mine through a Rockron Velocity 150 power amp into custom 2x12 cabs loaded with Eminence Texas Heat 12's. It's one hot rig! I also use the FB4 footswitch for live on the fly channel switching. Once you learn it, it's cake!

I love this gadget

By Guitar_hero2098

from burlinton vt

I got this as a present from my father in 2005.I had no clue of all of the wonderful sounds I could get out of this little red box.I can get any thing from a blues sound, to a hi-gain sound.I like the reverb, the delay works like a charm, the fuzz box makes you sound like Hendrix, and the volume is perfect.I recomend it to anyone who loves to experiment with different sounds like I do.

Tone Toy

By ToneMan

from Houston, TX.

I bought this from G.C. when it first came out and fell in love with it. So much so that I bought the long floor board too! It's great to use in my home studio whether I run it in stereo or just jam late at night with headphones. It's so easy to play live- I run every guitar through it:electric, acoustic-electric, even my classical guitar that has an under saddle pick-up(talk about some wild tones ala Monte Montgomery). Sure, there are other units that offer up more, but my POD is just so much fun and easy to use! I've never had a problem after hundreds of hours of use. Thanks G.C.!!!

Perfect for those who can't afford Expensive amps

By Aluxnahual

from Pomona CA.

I got mine Because I can't afford the "top of the line" riggs and effects that pros use. I've been playing on stage for many years, and I tried every distortion pedal that my budgget would allow me, and man! I got to tell you that my POD was the only one that never let me down, every time I had to play side by side with guys who owned the "big expensive amps": 'cause when it comes down to tone; they had nothing on me, thanks to my Line 6 POD 2.0
