I bought this amp about 4 weeks ago and I've used it about 5 times. I bought it mainly because it works on batteries and it also came with an AC adapter.I was totally amazed by the power that this small amp has.The special effects are pretty neat for what they are although I do have my own foot pedals that are better. If youre looking for a small practice amp that's going to give great sound and not sound like its comming out of transister radio this one is perfect.I don't know how long the batteries will last with constant playing.I will find out as I use it more.If youre limited for space this amp can fit almost anywhere.Again so far so good. Thanks for reading this.

Line6 makes some very cool products. I love my variax acoustic 700 and my electric 300. Friends of mine love their green delay pedal. This unit, though, isn't as cool as I expected. Yes, it has nice preset tones. Yes, it has useful one-knob effects, but understand this; the chorus, the flanger, and the tremolo are different selections on one knob (can't have combinations of any two or 3 of these), and the reverb, delay, and sweep echo are the choices for the other effect knob - same deal.

Nice that there's a mic input - but it's 1/4". Nice that there's a tuner. It's feature packed and loud and full for the size and price. The eq section is useful. Really glad it has headphone and mp3 player jacks. The amp model presets are fun. Leave it to Line6 to give you a preset called 'Insane'.

You can even program the presets - a little bit. Meaning, you can preset the effects on them. Next time you go back to that preset, the effect settings will still be what you established for your taste, but beware, the eq, drive, and channel volume will be reset to Line6's taste.

I like the thing, but I'm going with the smaller, quieter, lower powered more solid Roland micro cube. And here's why: poorly designed noise gate on the Line6.

If you are a beginner or if you just want bang for buck, then this probably won't matter to you, but I plan to use the thing around discriminating ears at a campfire from time to time. On the guitar channel (though not the mic channel - but there's no eq whatsoever for the mic channel) there is a noise gate that seems to be placed right at the input stage. It can't be turned off and it's very apparent when the instrument gets quieter. If you play a sustained chord or single note, as the sound finally decays you will hear it cutting in and cutting out while the noise gate tries to decide whether to pass it or mute it. The problem is that it can't make up its mind for a few seconds and it sounds like the amp's been swarmed by tentative mosquitos.

I'm not especially impressed with the build quality either. The speaker is only protected by grill cloth and Line6 gave no consideration for what you're going to do with their external power supply - except that maybe you'll lose it and have to fork out more $ to buy a replacement - that you can lose also.

The 'chromed' knobs have one little black dot to give you an idea what your settings are and some require about half a rotation before they'll register your own adjustment after you switch from one preset to the other.

So, if you want a bargain, if you seldom set your knobs to less than 11, if you're flush with C batteries, and you promise not to drop the thing from any height greater than 6 inches, knock yourself out. But Line6 could have done better this time, for my money.

This is a awesome little speaker with so many modeling features its hard to pick from , it's hard to believe this is only 6 amps and is portable I us it to play outside and have never had any problems and the batteries
last a resonable amount of time , however I plan on getting rechargeable batteries .

I am a newer guitar player. I have been working on acoustic and electric for about 9 months. This amp sounds great and increases my motivation because I actually sound good what I am playing.

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I strongly recommend this amp.Inexpensive, easy to carry, simple to change the tone to you want to hear. and a really great sound. I have a Pevey viper-1 amp in which you basically need a degree in electronics to understand. This line 6 amp is just so easy to change settings on. A really good product.

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp a few years ago - wanted something very compact. It's small, portable and convenient, but is a bit noisier than the comparable Rolands (2) I also own.
I finally rigged up a switching jack to run these 5 Line-6 watts thru a 50w. 10" speaker. What a difference that makes! So much gutsier and musical.
That's a lesson I've learned with a number of small, inexpensive amps - it's always the speaker that's the cheapest, weakest link.

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

It might have a little buzz, but it's hardly noticeable, when on batteries it doesn't work fine with headphones, after a few power cords it will start making noise from the amp speaker, also it makes the sound quality of your MP3/Laptop really poor.

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was really excited to get this when I ordered it online...especially with the number of effects and battery option. Both over headphones and played aloud through the amp, this thing sounds terrible. Everything is dull and bass notes especially are muffled. The different effects (including the clean) all sound unnatural and awkward. I guess I'm stuck with my larger amp until someone finds a better portable one.

          NICE AMP

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had this amp for two years now and I play my Epi Les Paul Standard on it and it sounds great. I like the sound of the clear channel and absolutely love the reverb and of course all the other special effects are great also. You can also hook a mike up and it has a volume control also... and if you also play accoustic there is an accoustic channel just for you also. I play both so this amp really made more since than buying two different amps. I dont need an amp that will bring down the house at this point in my life. I found just the right amp to suite my needs. Lightweight, Portable and with great sound. This amp to my surprise will handle both the mike port and the guitar port at the same time with ease even though it is such low wattage.
