I bought this amp about 4 weeks ago and I've used it about 5 times. I bought it mainly because it works on batteries and it also came with an AC adapter.I was totally amazed by the power that this small amp has.The special effects are pretty neat for what they are although I do have my own foot pedals that are better. If youre looking for a small practice amp that's going to give great sound and not sound like its comming out of transister radio this one is perfect.I don't know how long the batteries will last with constant playing.I will find out as I use it more.If youre limited for space this amp can fit almost anywhere.Again so far so good. Thanks for reading this.

This little amp's best feature is it's portability. It will run on batteries, and if you need a small, portable amp that runs on batteries, it's worth looking into. You can also plug a mic in it, but don't expect much projection without distortion. Might amply a little solo street performance a bit, but certainly not sufficient for gigs. As a practice amp, it handles mid to high range duties OK, and can get loud enough to play in your living room or garage. But the low end is a mess. Lower strings on a guitar sound really muddy, crumpled and distorted. It's just asking too much from a 6.5" speaker to put any sort of volume on the lower registers with any clarity. The special effects are OK. You can get some distortion sounds and reverb and some other effects with it. But really, unless you need something that can be battery operated, IMO for about the same money you'll do a lot better by buying a bigger basic amp with a bigger speaker and more horsepower, and coupling it with a multi-effects pedal.

This is an awesome amp.

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I strongly recommend this amp.Inexpensive, easy to carry, simple to change the tone to you want to hear. and a really great sound. I have a Pevey viper-1 amp in which you basically need a degree in electronics to understand. This line 6 amp is just so easy to change settings on. A really good product.

NICE AMP

By Sue Alger

from MI

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had this amp for two years now and I play my Epi Les Paul Standard on it and it sounds great. I like the sound of the clear channel and absolutely love the reverb and of course all the other special effects are great also. You can also hook a mike up and it has a volume control also... and if you also play accoustic there is an accoustic channel just for you also. I play both so this amp really made more since than buying two different amps. I dont need an amp that will bring down the house at this point in my life. I found just the right amp to suite my needs. Lightweight, Portable and with great sound. This amp to my surprise will handle both the mike port and the guitar port at the same time with ease even though it is such low wattage.

Best Travel Battery Powered Amp!

By Chris Pinckney

from New York

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

-I got this amp as I was looking for a small, battery powered amp to carry around to play where ever. I'd already owned the 15w Line Spider 3, so a smaller 6w amp based on the same Spider 3 model, OF COURSE! -This amp has everything you could need and more. 5 amp models, 6 FX + boost & noise gate, tuner, headphone out, MIC in, MP3 in, 3 band EQ, and PLENTY OF GAIN! -My favorite amp by far! I've played shows with it (line out to PA, as well as with it's own speaker). It's very light to carry. At school I just plug in and show off all over campus! Haha! I usually use outlet power but decent batteries last long enough 20 hr. Just one thing, you won't know they're dead until the volume cuts on you. Also the acoustic model is nothing special (just clean with a hard boost).

Nice amp but junk tuner.

By John Flores

from La Marque, Texas

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I got this amp a year ago as a back up practice amp. It packs a lot of punch for its size and looks great. It also has tons of features, and it should if its going to demand such a high price tag. I have only used this amp about 5 times and always put it back in the box when I'm done with it. Yesterday I pulled it out and was going to tune by guitar with it but it appears the tuner is dead. The tuner was one of the best features it had and now after about 6 uses it's junk. Not to mention Line6 has the worst customer support I have ever come across.

Mean Little Amp

By LeeGordonJones

from Falls Church, VA

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was in search of a battery powered amp that I could put in a tote bag and take with me on the road that would enable me to practice in a motel room without disturbing the other guests. I have several tube amps ranging from 15 to 40 watts, but theyۡre really too cumbersome and loud for lugging in and out of motels. After a little net surfing, I discovered the Line-6 Micro Spider. Both my son and my nephew have 30 watt Line-6 Spiders, which are very versatile and quite loud - loud enough to play with drums, so I decided to try the Micro Spider. This little amp is surprisingly loud for a battery powered amp ۡ it runs on six C-cells, and I think when powered by its wall-wart power supply, itۡs even a hair louder. It has a 6-1/2- inch speaker that produces an impressively full sound, although if the low E string buzzes on a fret, the speaker breaks up more than a larger speaker normally does. I like the built-in tuner, and I am sure at some point to try the CD and mic inputs and headphone output, but I havenۡt yet. There are lots of tonal choices and effects: one knob controls the chorus/flange, phaser, and tremolo effects; each sounds pretty good. Another knob controls a variable echo/reverb, which again are quite good. I generally use a little reverb and maybe a touch of chorus or tremolo, but mostly just reverb. And thereۡs quite an array of overdrive choice. I pretty much only use the clean setting, but thereۡs plenty of overdrive/distortion to be had using the crunch, metal, or insane settings, which can be adjusted using the drive knob. And by pushing the crunch and metal buttons at the same time, one can get a simulated acoustic setting. I donۡt really hear a big difference between this setting and the clean setting, so I generally just leave it on clean. Each of the tone controls works in a sufficiently wide band to dial in the desired amount of twang or woman tone. In fact, when I first plugged in, all three knobs were turned all the way down, and it still sounded quite good. The amp has a few quirks that took me a little while to get adjusted to: namely when switching between channels, the effects and levels return to their default mode, so best to turn down the channel volume and/or master volume before switching. There is no foot switch, so one cannot easily click in and out of lead mode on the fly, but for practicing in the bedroom, it is plenty versatile. Iۡm not sure itۡs what I would call a great value, but itۡs priced competitively with comparable models, and if one needs the portability of battery power, this is what it costs. On the whole, Iۡm happy with my purchase.

Built to travel

By Mike

Comments about Line 6 Micro Spider 6W 1x6.5 Guitar Combo Amp:

This is a nice light-weight amp. The manual indicates "...up to 20 hours of power with 6 C sized batteries." This is equal to the Roland and the VOX. I found the effects easy to use. However, I mainly use the CLEAN channel. By the way, this does have a built-in noise gate; just in case your your axe is prone to hiss, etc. A good amp, wherever you might be when you desire to plug-in and ...
