The custom-designed bridge includes built-in piezo crystals that flawlessly translate the Variax guitar tone and dynamics. The precision piezos are housed inside a set of Graph Tech String Saver saddles, which are highly resistant to rust, corrosion or perspiration-ideal for sweat-stained stages and beer-soaked venues.
Access an Arsenal of Drop Tunings-Instantly
Imagine going from Standard tuning to Drop Bb in an instant-without interrupting your recording session or sacrificing an ounce of playability. JTV-89F lets you go lower than guitars have gone before, without worrying about pitchiness or slack strings. You can mix and match any tuning with any instrument-and also create your own tunings on the fly with Virtual Capo. It's easy to save your custom tunings, either to the open Model slot on the Alt Tune knob, or to one of the other alternate tuning slots.

Comments about Line 6 James Tyler Variax JTV-89F Electric Guitar:
Ive been playing guitar since 1980 and have covered many styles and forms of playing. I own 10 guitars because I'm a tone freak and require each one all of my needs everyone has a different purpose. 2 are set up detuned to save time while I'm writing. Since I purchased the JTV89F 2 weeks ago. I have not picked one of them up since. The guitar came set up pretty well the 6th string had a slight buzz when it arrived but a 1/4 turn on the bridge got rid of it. This guitar is like opening Pandora's box. I own the hd500 and the dt50 212 so with the complete "dream rig" I find myself leaving my studio only because the sun came up and I need sleep. The neck is real fast and the magnetic pickups are really responsive. If this guitar existed 20 years ago I possibly would have never bought 1/2 of the guitars I own now. It does require a little bit of fine tuning of Eq settings to get a beautiful 12 string for recording but it doesn't take much to make any of the models sound true when recording. The ability to change tunings faster that you can say the word tuning is unbelievable. The only other thing I would recommend is buying the cable line 6 recommends the cable that comes with the guitar works fine but the VDI cable has protection at the connections. The Also Hulen Guitar Center in Fort Worth took real good care of me. Thanks Guys!
Comments about Line 6 James Tyler Variax JTV-89F Electric Guitar:
I am not the type of person who names his guitars. Or at least I wasn't until I bought the James Tyler Variax 89-F. I dub thee, Excalibur! Seriously, though, this thing is absolutely amazing! And while the on-board modeling is fun, and for the most part, very realistic, I am absolutely blown away by the guitar itself. I've never received a guitar that didn't need to be initially set up, but all this puppy needed was tuned. The intonation and action were perfect straight out of the box. "So...why the 89-F?" you might ask. Well, I'm not exactly the super-heavy rock sort of guy (although my solos approach that style at times), and I really do like the looks of the JTV 59, but after so many bad experiences with all varieties of standard tremolo systems (including a recently purchased and sold Paul Reed Smith) I opted to wait for the 89-F because it sports the Floyd Rose locking tremolo. And I am soooo glad I waited! This thing takes all the punishment I can dish out and requires only a bit of tweaking afterward via the fine-tuners. As far as the 29 virtual instruments go, some are a little cheesy-sounding, but the majority are very good. There are tons of reviews on YouTube if you want to hear for yourself and then decide (which I recommend). My favorite feature of this guitar is the alternate tuning capability. For years, I bounced back and forth between playing in standard tuning and playing in Eb. I also dabbled with a capo to bring certain songs into my vocal range. And while all of those options are viable, they have nothing on the capabilities of this guitar. Hey, singer/guitarists, I'm talking to you: This guitar will solve your problems in a jiffy! Imagine being able to play in ANY tuning and not changing the action or intonation on your guitar. It's incredible! I especially enjoy this guitar paired with the POD HD500X because using both of them together means you don't have to alter the guitars on-board alternate tuning presets. The HD500X remembers your tuning specification and activates it when you activate the preset. What else can I say? Umm... Buy this guitar!
