After my Flextone XL bit the bullet, I wanted something that had the Line 6 user friendliness, but also that I could combine with a much lighter amp for gigging. I looked at Pods and some of the newer Line 6 amps, but I didn't want to have to buy either, and STILL pay over $200 for a floorboard controller. I couldn't believe it when I saw Line 6 had a new, all in one pedal for under $300. It has all the features of the Pod 2.0 plus more! Well I figured I couldn't lose with a price like that and preordered one. One thing I LOVE about Line 6 amps and effects is that they are so easy to program. KNOBS, not buttons, which for me is great, 'cause I hate to have to spend alot of timing messing with effect chains and confusing algorythmns. I recenetly bought a Marshall Artist 3203 and an Avatar 2x12 cabinet with Celestion vintage 30s, and this pedalboard sounds great thru this amp! You have to do a little bit of tweaking, but if U fiddle with it, you'll get your sound. The amp modelings are great and the effects are pretty cool. A couple of gripes: There is no bypass switch if ya wanna run other effects at the same time or just use the distortion from your amp w/out mixing it with the POD effects. Also, some of the effects like delay can get a little loopy when your trying to dial them in. Also, there isn't a listing of all the presets in the manual, so you actually have to scroll thru and play each one to try them out. But really, for $300 bucks, how can ya ask for more. I haven't had a chance to record direct with this yet or play live with it, but I'm sure it will sound great. If your looking for great sound, easy operation and a low price tag, buy one!

I bought this in may, and I was pretty excited since this was my first real effects board. Two hours of fiddling later, and I was already wanting something else. After I made some effects that worked for me (and made them the same volume, which on this machine is more difficult than you would expect), I was a little more impressed, but it still didn't sound great. I play a Gibson Les Paul, and this made my guitar sound very, very cheap. If you must have a multi-effect board rather than a pedal board, I suggest at least saving up for the next level of the floor pod, which I have played several times (it's easier to use, more practical, and better sounding). That said, if you're not really into tone and just want some different effects to play with, this is a great pedal for you...the effects that it comes with are the reason I give it three stars, and not one.

i just got my line6 floor pod yesterday.and man it is really great.i am still trying to figure out all the cool things.so if you are tired of having alot of effect pedals then you should really get this one.only thing that i wish it had was a looper, but i can add one and if you have a looper and a MIDI then you are set to go.i looked at some other line6 pedals but i thing that one is the best it don't cost that much.so give it a try,its worth the money

Perfect

By Gary Sicard

from Fitchburg, Mass.

I just bought my 2nd Floor POD Plus. I loved the 1st one but got crazy and bought something else that was promised to be the best processor for the money (a lot more $$ than the Floor POD Plus). That was a mistake! The Floor POD Plus is the "perfect" guitar processor. It sounds great, it's easy to use (very user friendly)and built like a brick @#%&house. Also, the expression pedal works great too. The wah function is excellent and so is the volume function! I would recommend it to any guitarist that wants a great processor that will do it all!

Useful

By David Buckley

from Orem, UT

I bought this POD a year and a half ago, and it has served me well. The "amp" settings leave a little bit to be desired, so I got some stompboxes and I now just use the preamp setting on this and it sounds great! I run it through a Fender Frontman 212R amp because I like the clean jazz sound that a combo amp delivers, but the preamp still gives a tube feel even at low volumes. The compressor, gate, effects, and delays are very useful; but I only use maybe half the effects at the most. However, those are all the effects I need! The wah/volume pedal isn't high quality, but hey, all this for the price!! It's a steal, and I would recommend it!

Good - but too old

By David Misal

from Lancaster PA

This is a good unit, but not worth buying today. Save a few more bucks for an HD series. Any of the HD series modelers are SOOOOOO much better, for just a little more scratch. If you plan to play live, or are looking for seriously good and versatile tone, save up. If you are 15 and just learning, buy a cheap amp instead and save the money. No matter what, there are better options than this.

This thing ROCKS...

By Jacob Jung

from Mason, OH

... if you know how to use it. So im kinda gonna tell you how to get it to sound great. First off, put the amp you are using on the clean channel. Then make sure the clean channel has no extra crunch on it AT ALL. Turn down the treble, middle, and bass controls on the amp down to about 5 each, you can adjust them if you need to. Then click IN the amp model knob, and turn it to OFF located above 'tube preamp' at the bottom of the dial. now it should sound much better. Anyways, I LOVE THIS PRODUCT. The only line 6 product I had beforehand was the original Spider Solid State amp... and it sucked. Anyways, This thing is great for any style if you know how to use it. I use it plugged into a Marshall tube amp.

Overal Fantastic product.

By Alex

from San Jose Ca

This POD is quite handy in the studio. I have yet to use it live, though I couldn't imagine it letting me down. . I noticed a lot of people don't seem to understand how it works, Sit with the manual for a bit and you will be creating tones and delays with ease. . THE ONLY DOWNSIDE, which doesn't even have to do with the POD itself is the power supply. . It is a box with a cable coming out of both ends, on one end it plugs to the wall with a thick durable cable the other end plugs into the POD and the cable isn't as thick and durable as one would like it to be. Just be careful with the supply cable and you will enjoy this thing forever! It really is quite enjoyable.

meh

By David Hollenbeck

from Concord, CA

honestly, I wasn't impressed. this was my second and last multi-effects processor, and it's sound isn't great. there isn't really any "distortion", just different amp models that give different types of overdrive, distortion, whatever. it's quite simple to create an effect, but balancing them so they are all the same volume level and actually finding the sound you really want is a difficult task. on the upside, there are a lot of effects and delays, although I don't see how they can be very useful, they really are fun to play with. lucky for me, it broke down after 5 months, so I can get my money back and invest in some stomp boxes.
