If your tone is your masterpiece, the DT25 tube guitar amp head is your paintbrush. This 25W/10W tube amp from Line 6 and tube-amp guru Reinhold Bogner gives you four stunning, lust-worthy amp voicings and unprecedented versatility that lay the foundation for you to build your perfect tone.

The powerful combination of reconfigurable analog components and HD modeling allows the DT25 head to be four boutique tube amps in one, capable of producing stunning American cleans, British crunch, class A chime, and modern high-gain tones. Selectable operating class, power tube mode, and four Voicings (which offer the perfect combinations of negative feedback loop topology, and HD preamp and tone stack modeling) can dial in classic vintage tones or be shaped into highly customized originals - and each one drips with boutique tone and touch-response.

The DT25 amp gets to the point. It's a simple, two-channel amp with a streamlined front panel. But if you connect a POD HD multi-effect pedal or POD HD Pro multi-effect rack to this little monster the two integrate to become a boutique tube amp factory!

Connected via exclusive L6 LINK technology, the DT25 amp and POD multi-effect rewrite the traditional amp/multi-effect paradigm and introduce powerful new concepts in control and customization. Add effects, additional amp voicings, foot control and instant scalability (including stereo operation with multiple DT25 amplifiers). DT25 is the perfect pairing for POD HD multi-effects. The days of plugging a POD into the front of an amp are over!

Revolutionary Bogner tube design meets Line 6 HD modeling
The Voicing switch is the heart of DT25 amp. It conjures the characteristic tone, feel and response that are at the heart of four celebrated amp voicings: American clean, British crunch, class A chime and modern high-gain. Different negative feedback loop topologies pair with HD preamp and tone stack modeling to produce the perfect tonal springboards for you to craft your perfect tones:

¢ Voicing I: Classic American Clean (tight negative feedback loop)
¢ Voicing II: British Crunch (medium negative feedback loop)
¢ Voicing III: Class A Chime (zero negative feedback loop)
¢ Voicing IV: Modern, High-Gain (resonant negative feedback loop)

Selectable operating class and power tube mode
Take your tone in many different directions with the selectable operating classes and power tube modes. Mix and match them with the Voicing switch to dial in truly unique tones. Or align the components in tried-and-true combinations to deliver fresh takes on the immortal classics.

¢ Selectable operating classes - Class AB/25 watts/fixed bias; Class A/10 watts/cathode biased
¢ Selectable power tube modes - Pentode; Triode

Any two amps you want, separated by a single channel switch
The two channels can be set to any combination of Voicing, operating class and power tube mode, so the channel switch is more like an A/B switch connected to two different amps. (Or, for a boost channel, set the channels the same with one a little louder.)

For example, set Channel A to a California clean tone. It can be complete with a high amount of negative feedback for a tight sound, characteristic class AB headroom and plenty of pentode-powered body. Set Channel B to deliver vintage Class A chime with zero negative feedback for an open, dynamic feel. Triode mode darkens the tone a bit and rounds off the edges, and Class A operation provides no shortage of touch sensitivity when you dig in with your pick. That's total analog and digital reconfiguration in one touch.

DT25 amplifier + POD HD multi-effect = Boutique tube amp factory
DT25 amplifiers and POD HD multi-effects don't just connect, they seamlessly integrate to transform into a boutique tube amp factory capable of creating any tone you need with incredible tone and feel. POD HD multi-effects come to the party with additional models including 20+ HD amp models, 20+ HD guitar preamp-only models, huge collections of effects, cabs, mics and more. With a single L6 LINK connection, you get:

¢ Automatic analog configuration. Select a POD HD amp model or preset and the DT25 analog components will automatically configure themselves to the appropriate operating class, biasing method, negative feedback topology and power tube mode.

¢ Save custom analog configurations. Saving your custom DT25 configurations is as easy as saving POD HD presets. Tweak the DT25 amp settings, press Save on the POD HD multi-effect and incredibly unique and complex amp configurations can be recalled instantly.

¢ No ground loops. You'll never get ground loop hum from an L6 LINK connection!

Line 6 DT25 25W Tube Guitar Amp Head paired with Pod HD500X into a pair of Line 6 Extension Cabs... Have owned many, many amps, cabs, FX, and this is by far the slickest rig I have ever played on. A truly "boutique" sounding amp with many possibilities!

By Rich Harrison

from Saint Paul, MN

Comments about Line 6 DT25 25W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

First, let me say that I tried the DT50 and didn't like it at all! The DT25 is a completely different amp that uses different tubes. They do NOT sound the same so don't judge the DT25 based on impressions from the DT50 (if you've tried that). Also, forgot the name Line 6 and just treat this is a Bonner-designed tube amp with some digital technology built in. My best advice to anyone considering this amp is to find a place to try it out for yourself, where you can spend some quality time with it, turn it up loud enough to get the power tubes involved and just PLAY with it! Bring the guitar that you normally play or find one in the store that fits your style, make sure the head is attached to a decent speaker cabinet and enjoy its tube-y goodness :-) The tone IS there and the amp will speak for itself if its set up the right way and played appropriately. "Boutique" is the right word for what this amp is. Paradoxically, it has both, its own sound and yet it accurately mimics the sounds of 4 famous amps: Fender, Vox, Marshall and Mesa Boogie. The boutique flavor comes in when you dial it up to match your taste (change the topology, change from Class A to Class A/B, etc.). It does seem to have its own "signature" sound that is distinct and very detailed, or "hi-fi". Adding a POD HD500 certainly opens up the possibilities considerably BUT, don't do this when you are testing the amp as it adds complexity and requires a lot of tweaking to make it sound good. Just enjoy the amp for its own design first and base your decision on that.

Comments about Line 6 DT25 25W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

The first thing i must say is that if your going to buy this amp you must have the hd500. The amp alone is awesome but for the price yuo can find another boutique that is better, but once you add the hd500 this amp is unbeleivable, it perfectly integrats with the pod and creats a amazingly bright and warm tone that RESPONDS to your playing just like a 2500 dollar boutique. I have sell my mesa boogie Mark V Head but this thing perfectly matches the tone that i got from it while adding about 20 more amazing classic amps. Its a must buy if you have the pod its well worth it-6 stars

DT25 stands for Disappointing Tubeamp 25

from Ontario California

Comments about Line 6 DT25 25W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I have the HD500 and really love it. The modeling was so good through my Tech21 PE60's that I thought the DT25 just had to be better. After watching several videos I was convinced so I bought the head and matching 1X12 speaker. Man, was I wrong. After 3 full weeks of trying to dial in decent clean, rhythm and lead tones I am utterly disappointed in the DT25. The preamp modeling in the amp is very digital sounding on it's own and while the integration with the Pod HD is pretty good, once this amp is cranked past 1/3 power it is just plain awful. Even dialing in the tones with the amp alone cranked didn't work. A tube amp should get better when the tubes are pushed, not worse. So I swapped out the tubes and still the tone was god awful. I tried the head through my 4X12 cab with vintage 30's and the tone was deeper but still about the same. I went onto the Line6 site and hit up the forums where everyone was really helpful in trying to help me get the system to sound good. Finally, I gave the 4 cable method a try and just gave up. I have been been a Line 6 fan for years and love my HD500 but the DT25 is terrible. I don't like having to write a negative review about a company whose products have been awesome but if you're looking a decent tube amp this isn't it.

DT25 Head and 112 Cab - Awesome Amp!

By John Reichow

from Columbus, Ohio

Comments about Line 6 DT25 25W Tube Guitar Amp Head:

I have had or played many amps over the years searching for better tone. None have compared to the versatility of this one. I recently had a pair of USA Blues Devilles and was quite unhappy with them. I gues they were good if you want to sound the same all the time. I like versatility. The DT does it all and integrates with the hd500 very well. I was looking for something that would deliver great tone at low volumes for studio use. The DT delivers nice warm clean fender tones (better than the Devilles) to the ac30 chime to downright grunge if you want it. This amp has way better bottom end than my fender blues devilles. I am a stereo player so I bought two of these once the first one passed the sound test. One is good but having two in stereo is awesome. The only problem I have had is that the second unit arrived quite noisy. I've isolated it down to the power tubes. I am in the process of replacing those with new ones. Not a big deal but I shouldn't have to right out of the box. If you want a killer studio amp - this is it. If you need a louder club amp the DT 50 would be more appropriate I think.
