I thought I would try the Bass Pod because I was semi impressed with effects on the Low Down Amp. I was not impressed at all. The bypass button is to close to the volume pedal. It has a flimsy construction. It cut my tone from my GK in half, even in bypass mode. This is not a pro sounding pedal. There is no way around spending the cash if you want quality tone.I would only recommend this for a beginner wanting to toy with effects.

Completely Disappointed.

Comments about Line 6 Bass Floor POD:

Where to begin? 1) Presets are LOUD. If my bypass bass volume is a 3, the presets come out at a 9.2) Can't scroll through effects without activating them, so impossible to get set up for next song.3) Pedals trigger on release, not when pressed.4) Has a "master volume" knob that will also control the Bypass volume.5) Volume/Wah pedal is the same height as the effect pedal, so easy to bump. I'm sure its a a decent pedal if you don't plan on using the bypass and have plenty of time between songs to mute and switch effects. This product overall is not ready to use out the box.

Good for distortion

Comments about Line 6 Bass Floor POD:

I bought this pedal when I first started playing about 3 years ago. I play classic rock through metal (Metallica, Slayer, Venom, Judas Priest, etc.) Like most of the reviews state, the effects are very limited, its very much set in stone on what you can do with this pedal. examples: synth can only make a "WOW" or an annoying buzzing sound. Grind has a constant distortion to it. No noticable differance between Brit and Rock amp channels. Same thing for R&B and Clean. I play Cliff Burton solos constantly with my band and this pedal is good for that however. Thats the only good thing Im afraid.

Not all bad.

Comments about Line 6 Bass Floor POD:

I bought this when it first came out and cost twice what it does now. I was expecting great things and it delivered, but not how I had planned. I was expecting a full range of effects, and that was not the case. The effects on it are very limited and the synth is hardly adjustable. What it did do more than I could have ever expected is clean up my amp. I run a Peavy TNT115 with the extention cabinet, and it is hard to keep a clean sound with that amp in bigger places. The models and the compression on the Line 6 made it so I can crank up the volume and get the tone I want. I play a variety of classic rock, hard rock, and sometimes country, so my tones are different for each band. This amp has models to allow me to adjust for the tones I desire and to allow me to play at a high volume without the feedback or distortion. So, to me is was worth the money, just not in the way I expected.

Not of much use

Comments about Line 6 Bass Floor POD:

I fell into a common trap. Line6 LowDown amps get really good reviews. Figure the POD has all the basic modeling and effects without need for the amp. The POD hooked up to a Behringer clean SS amp does not have good modeling or effects. It's almost useless. I get better sounds with just the cheapie amp. LowDown users still swear by this technology though. *boggle*

Bass Pod Line 6

By Frank

Comments about Line 6 Bass Floor POD:

I just picked up my bass after a 20 some year lay off 1976 a Fender Jazz and I own a 1976 ampeg SVT with the 2x15 cab.(The behemoth as described in the manual). I can get the same sounds(not volume)and many many more, out of my Fender Bass practice amp @ 25 amps and a small 10in speaker. If you ever wondered how they get that sound the Line 6 is the answer,FUN FUN FUN!!!

Bass Floor Pod is BOSS!!!

By Mark Sinkhorn

from Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Comments about Line 6 Bass Floor POD:

I purchased my Bass Floor Pod from my local GC. I have used it for about four months now under various conditions. I play at my church in the Praise Team Band, in a jazz/rock/oldies trio and on occasion do a duo with a guitarist friend. I have found the Pod to be a good all-around unit with lots of possibilities. In Church, I mostly use the Eden Traveler model, clean sound with nice bottom end. I use a Shure PGX Instrument system (also a GC purchase) into the Pod and then back into an ART TubePAC as a direct into our A&H FOH mixer. The trio is preparing to do Pictures At An Exhibition at a local University and the Pod nails those Greg Lake tones. The Ampeg B-15 and SVT are dead-on too. I give it four stars only because some of the presets are totally unusable for me and I didn't have a 4 1/2 star option. Others may love them. Get some good cable because the high impedance runs can get noisy in high interference areas.

I should have read the Bass Floor Pod reviews

By John in KC

Comments about Line 6 Bass Floor POD:

I was looking for a bass processor, with some effects I actually might use, to model a B15 or a SVT, but this wasn't the one to do it. I did try out a Line 6 Low Down amp containing the modeling this processor seems to be based on and was impressed but I like amps without built in effects so I ordered the Bass Floor Pod. Right away I noticed a high level of hiss and noise on many patch settings, both through headphones and on several different bass amps I tried it on. It adds a slight distortion on all settings which I have noticed on other digital processors as well. The patches are very uneven and slow to change. Also there is an increase in volume after the patch changes which finally lower to initial volume unless the channel vol. is turned up all the way. The chorus and octave were decent but I wasn't crazy about the filter or the synth settings. Also a patch list is not included and was commented on at least a couple of months ago on the Line 6 web site so it gives me doubts about support for this model. IN honesty, I havn't tried that many bass processors but the Digitech BP50 is a better unit at a third of the price. This unit is going back.

I should have done more research

Comments about Line 6 Bass Floor POD:

I bought this item expecting to be amazed. I was quite the opposite. It looks amazing, but the directions don't really explain anything, and the effects aren't all that amazing. I'm going to invest in something a little less expensive that can do a little more.
