Looking to build a studio in your home? This unit does what it claims 8 simultaneous tracks. I have the newest Mac's 2011's, use Logic Pro,Record drums PERFECT & scores the project, every instrument perfect! Use Pro Tools in studio and have started using Logic Pro at home in studio and at live gigs. Don't blame this Line6 UX8 when the problem is the computer and software you are using.

Overal It does exactly what it says. You can hook up your guitar/bass/or vocal mic and add effects to it like you would your normal amp. To multi-track record you have to have an ASIO compatible recording software for it to recognize each of the 8 tracks. I was using cool edit pro 2.0 but now I have to upgrade to something else. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I had to go online and search for X64 Bit OS drivers for it to work. Also the manual says nothing about multitrack recording I had to search the forums to find out why my software wasn't seeing the 8 tracks. The manual only talks about the guitar inputs. Seems to be built really well and after I found the correct software and drivers on the line 6 website it was fairly easy to install. I am glad I got this and expect to create some cool stuff with it. If you don't want to spend thousands of dollars this is the device for you especially if you play guitar.
