this is the future
Before I purchased te X3 my rig consisted of a 1967 Fender Princeton Reverb Amp and a 1996 Line 6 AxSys 2/12. The X3 Live sounds outstanding, it has tons of features, easy to get the hang of, and is convenient. I can now confidently leave all my amps at home when it is time for band practice and gigs. The two amps simultaneously kick major butt, it adds another dimension to the possibilities of tonal versatility. I understand this is essentially the preamp to the Vetta II with some additions. My brother has the XT live, this definitely has more clarity than the XT, a couple hundred more presets, more outputs at higher quality, and also more amp models. It was a hard decision between the Spider Valve and the X3. The X3 won because of versatility and convenience for this working man. The tonal quality of digital modeling has finally gotten to the point where you can leave your treasured tube amp safely at home. *NOTE*
In mid-January 2008, there will be a plug-in released to enable the X3 to work with Line 6 Edit, along with many other programs enabling you to record directly to your computer.

line 6 pod x3 live!
i dont know wher to start, ill just say, this thing is AMAZING!! any sound you want is in here. you can even record using your computer. yeah, it comes with free reording software. it has basically all of the pedals in the world built in and they sound sikk.. its easy to use once u get the hang of it but i would recomend reading the manual a little bit. the gate on this works great, the distortion is killer, and the effects are sikk. also, this thing has many built in amps and cabinets for a couple of instruments and they sound great. using this thing live is great, also for practice. i have no concerns about this its just perfect. i would recomend this to any guitar player who plays any type of music.. this thing is the best multi effects prossecor out there!

Wow...
Man, this thing is amazing. Every sound you could ever want at your fingertips is right here...the effects are top-notch, the interface does take some getting used to, but you read the manual and you'll be set. Worth pretty much every single penny, the amps sound great, and although some might complain that they might not sound exactly like it, for all real purposes, these models will work, and they'll work very well.

The greatest!
I am still setting this pedal board up but I have to say this thing does not mess around. I bought the last one on the floor at the time and it didn't have the manual with it, (not Line 6's fault) but the board is quite easy to learn and edit once you get a hang of the menus. I already found "my sound" and have the presets set but I plan on learning this unit throughly. (which would be easier if I had the manual here in front of me on paper instead of the PDF from the website, my printer doesn't work...lol) If you want to save space, and your back, get this board, you won't be sorry! I play bass,in a band, guitar and sing my own songs, at home, (record into a DAW) so the fact that this unit has provisions for all of these things makes it even a better deal. But be fore warned; though the pedal has a few good presets out of the box, the levels and eq settings had to be set up. This isn't an instant gratification machine. You have to set it up to use it with what you have for the best quality sound. I have been keeping an eye on Line 6 from the beginning, and have been in bands with guitar players that use them for years. (since the first product up until now) and I really cannot see why someone would want to drop the bills for a BIG NAME amp and cabinet when they can get the same sound out of a Line 6 product plus so many more to choose from. I own a 1967 Fender twin Vibrolux, that I have been using for about 10 years. It weighs about 80 pounds. This board weighs maybe 10 pounds and I can pull up SEVERAL Fender amp models that sound spot on.
There is no excuse anymore, save your back and your money and buy this. Spend some time with it and you won't be sorry!

Great Great Great
This is my favourite multi-effect. I've played the Boss GT's and I must say they sound a little better but they are difficult to master. The POD X3 Live is extremely simple. You can put out amazing sounds without even looking at the manual. I do have two things to say though: some of the effects are a little much or don't have the classic sound and I wish the EQ could have been 5-band instead of 4-band.
