Line 6 LowDown Studio 110 Combo Bass Amp (104078472)
Availability:

All the essential bass tones in one package.

One of the first bass amps from Line 6, the Low Down Studio 110 Combo Bass Amp delivers an incredible array of dialed-in, stage-perfected bass tones. While most bass combos focus on volume and clean tone, LowDown offers 4 killer bass amp models that cover everything from funk to classic rock and beyond. Plus, the oversized, high-speed power amp has incredible articulation and bottom end punch that's ideal for live or studio work.

The LowDown delivers 4 carefully crafted amp models that can take you from modern punch to a thunderous, full-on assault! Each model automatically dials up a great sound that you can change to your liking and save into a preset using the channel memories on the front panel.

Clean—Inspired by the Eden Traveler*, this model is all about clean, funk, and fusion bass tone. It'll give you all the warm lows and punchy highs you need.

R & B—Inspired by a 1968 B-15 Flip Top, this model is a tribute to those late 60's and early 70's clean fat bass tones. It is the kind of tone you here on most Motown recordings, as played by a pioneering young James Jamerson.

Rock - This model is inspired by the '74 Ampeg SVT. This workhorse has appeared on innumerable recordings and arena stages worldwide. And now all the tone of the 300 lb behemoth 8X10 and head is available in your combo!

Grind—As the name would suggest, this is for modern rock lovers, Alice in Chains to Mudvayne and Rage Against The Machine. Based on a distorted SansAmp PSA-1 into an SVT in addition to a direct clean bass signal mixed in, this model gives you that angry, clear and punchy aggression that takes your sound to DEFCON 1.

The XLR Direct Output was designed for recording or sending your sound to a house sound system when you're playing live. This output utilizes exclusive Line 6 A.I.R. processing which has made products like POD the undisputed standard for direct recording. Whether you're playing a gig in a club or rushing off to a recording session, this POD-based direct out will give you huge, mic'd amp tone everywhere you go!

  • WOW

As reviewed by MLH on 1/12/2010

The first time I saw this amp on a stage I laughed, thinking that it was a joke. This is a no joke amplifier! while it does not have the volume of a large rig, it has way more than I expected from this small package. It keeps up with my practice sessions without plugging into the PA. And when used live it is plugged in to give control to the sound man, who can balance it while giving me a little extra for my ears only. the tone is wonderful, although I don't use the synth mode at all. again WOW I was very surprised and am very pleased with the tone and volume in this small package.

  • Great portable amp and head!

As reviewed by Shawn on 7/31/2009

This is a great portable amp it has the Watt's to stand against a drum set. and it just sounds great! the effects are also a great thing to have i mainly use the Rock effect with no drive to get a great low end boost.and it is light weight 24lb.! I'm a weak 15 year old teenage and i have no problem carrying it. i also use it like a head because it makes my TKO? 115 by Peavey sound alot better.

  • Best 12x12x12 75 Watt 1x10 for the money!

As reviewed by BrotherDave on 8/25/2011

I was looking for a small light amp to replace a heavy rehearsal amp I've used for nearly 25 years. I went to the Charlotte Guitar Center to buy a MarkBass CMD12P but came home with the Line 6 instead and kept about 350 dollars in my pocket. I've beaten my Line 6 Studio 110 like rented mule for over 3 years. I think I got one of the very first ones around here. I had never heard of that model before I saw it at the store. This is the first amp I've ever owned that was not USA or British made, but it has held up remarkably well and I've gotten my money's worth already and if it blew up or was stolen I'd buy another in a flash. The first year I had it I used it for rehearsals, home practice and home recording. The more I used it, the more confidence I gained in it until I first used it at a gig in the orchestra for the stage musical "Footloose" which has a bass heavy line that can get lost in the guitars, keys, horn & Latin percussion sections. The sound tech said to bring the smallest amp I had, so I brought the little Line 6 and he swore it sounded fine stand-alone with no direct out in the theater. I got tired of dragging my Ampeg/Avatar stack around to gigs with my R&B/classic rock band and the sound guy kept telling me to turn the Ampeg stack down. So I decided to try it with the loud party band. I bought an adjustable tilt stand, put it in front of me to point at my head like a monitor with a patch out from the amp to the PA. So the sound tech can mix it like he wants and I can hear it fine. If your band has a PA with beefy subs and lots of power you can do that with this amp and the tech can get the mix just right and you can sell the big rig or save it for major outdoor gigs. This amp is not suitable for big gigs without a direct out to a powerful PA with subs. I have recorded direct out with this amp too and have been very happy with the results. Features this amp are missing are few but I would like a built in tuner, a horn tweeter, about 25 more watts and a tilt back mechanism like the picture frame stand on the Ibanez Promethean. But for what it is and what it costs the Studio 110 is a winner. I've been playing since 1968 and I've had lots of amps by all the big names. This is the most versatile in tone and the one I enjoy carrying around the most. I get asked all the time, "What in the world is that amp?" For the money you won't find a louder more versatile micro-combo. It isn't the best amp in the world by any means, but it's size is deceiving and what everyone comments upon. At this point in my career, if I could have ONLY one amp, this is the one I'd have.
