  • FBV Shortboard....works!

As reviewed by Bigfoot Shredder on 3/26/2007

Pricey, but works great. Seems solidly built. I'm especially impressed with how well the wah & volume pedal works with my Pod XT. I now can use the Pod's midi out to control all equipment in my rack case. Not sure how they justify the price (almost as much as the Pod) but it does work very well. It's a keeper!

  • A Necessary Evil

As reviewed by zedthewizard on 9/27/2006

I owned a HD 147 amp head for about a year. I live in an apartment and space for large music equipment and space for huge noise is not always available. I felt unfulfilled, unsatisfied. Something in my musical life was missing. What was missing? The Line 6 FBV Shortboard Footcontroller for the Flextone III and the HD 147. My experience was with the HD 147. The Shortboard came with 36 presets that include; JCM8000 (Cocaine, Sunshine of Your Love), Cornford (Sunshine of Your Love rythmn), Silver Jubilee (Badge), AC-15 (Beatles, Tom Petty), Minime, Mini-Tweed, and many other excellent choices and tones. Only, a few were not very fun or useful. The Shortboard, I believe is necessary for everyone to have fun with the HD 147; and this would be especially true for those not skilled in the art of amplification. At this point, I urge the reader to read my review of the HD 147. With a computer, you can manipulate your tones using Line 6's editing software. A fairly inexpensive midi bus connector will connect your amp head to your computer. A bit of amplification and effects knowledge would help. Further, you can downlowad HD 147 and HD 147 compatible tones from the Line 6 website. I found a few downloads pretty cool. A fairly inexpensive midi bus connector will connect your amp head to your computer. I really enjoyed the onboard tuner. So, easy and it's right there at your feet. My only complaint might be that you only had one Modular stomp button. A more minor complaint would be that the wah and volume pedal were one. However, the Line 6 FBV Shortboard Footcontroller is a necessary evil; especially, if you want to invent your own evil tones and have ready access to them. And, for the novice the Shortboard offers a lot of fun with the presets.

  • Great Pedal

As reviewed by IceDevil on 10/6/2008

This pedal is great, it offers a ton a features. I was deciding between the shortboard and the express and I had to go for the express becasue of the fact that it offers the abilities to turn on distortion, modulation, etc. all from the pedal where as the express only allows you to switch between 4 presents. I am using the shortboard with a POD X3 and I could be happier this thing it great for quick on the fly sound adjustment, I love being able to kick on distortion right in the middle of a song, a must have addition for any Line 6 lover.
