  • LightSnake USB XLR

As reviewed by Ed on 11/21/2010

Good cable, but most computers will have digital interference with normal operation. Since there is no variable latency there's also no remedy for this problem. Unless you have a high class, professional audio computer, buy something else. There are other, better digital interfaces out there for even less than this.

  • NOT for recording a song.

As reviewed by Bret on 7/7/2011

I bought this hoping to record some demo songs with my band. It was really easy to hook up and start using, and the sound quality was good. But, upon playing with a metronome, my guitar's sound was ALWAYS behind the click. At first I thought it was maybe my mixer slowing everything down, but I plugged it directly into a microphone and everything was still slow. It's impossible to record a good sounding song with such a latency problem. In short, you should not buy this if you want to record a song. It could work fine for podcasting, where latency does not really matter, but they should not advertise this as a music recording device.

  • Great product so far

As reviewed by Trent Baughn on 5/3/2010

I purchased this product to resolve an issue which a non-functioning sound card/mic input jack that I have been trying to fix for weeks. It worked. Just plug it in and it works. I haven't had time to lay down any meaningful tracks, but the sound quality on a few test tracks seems good. I'm using it with Guitar Tracks Pro.
