Overview

Designed to the most exacting specifications, these reeds deliver all the depth and warmth that elite players demand. The new Signature Series Reeds are the solution for players who haven't yet found the perfect sound with other synthetic reeds.

Months of testing with top professionals including Larry Combs and Barnaby Robson have demonstrated that the new reeds can add another dimension to the already rich Legere sound. Mr. Combs, former Principal Clarinet in Chicago, has said that the new reeds "feel and sound very natural."

A great disappointment after all the hype. If I must use a synthetic reed I prefer Fibracell.

Comments about Legere Signature Series Bb Clarinet Reed:

Personally, I prefer the 3.5, but the 3.75 is great to. It is just slightly less hard then a Vandoren Silver box 4. It produces good tone and doesn't change with the weather or altitude, a problem I have in Montana. It took me about a week to actually get used to them and like them. If you new to the legere reeds, I would recommend playing on one for a week before making your decision.

Comments about Legere Signature Series Bb Clarinet Reed:

I was recently introduced to the Signature series and now I am hooked. I now have them in my Bb, C and bass clarinets and have just put a sop sax reed in my tarogato. No more concerns about weather affecting reeds or drying out between doubling. Sound and tonal quality is great. Waiting for the reeds to become available for German system clarinet mouthpiece and the new oboe reeds now under development.

Comments about Legere Signature Series Bb Clarinet Reed:

I just love this LeGere reed. I never thought I would pay this much for one reed but it'll probably last for years if it's like my bass clarinet reed. I would never go back to regular reeds again.

Comments about Legere Signature Series Bb Clarinet Reed:

The new Signature line is a world of difference from the older synthetic reeds. The sound and response is very good and I now use only the Signature reeds on Bb, C, Tarogato and bass clarinets.

Strength 3 too stiff. Reordered a 2 3/4 and it also is too stiff. I'm trying to work with it a while to see if I can adjust.

Comments about Legere Signature Series Bb Clarinet Reed:

Believe me, I wouldn't pay this much for a reed if it didn't put out. When my colleagues, who frown on "plastic" reeds, come up after a concert and tell me I sounded great, I like to hold up my Legere reed. One bassoonist was particularly down on "plastic" reeds, but after a season with our orchestra, she told me, "I wish they worked for bassoon." Bottom line, if you want to know you have a workable reed before you walk out on stage, get a Legere Signature.
